I worked with Emily from Homeward Bound years ago and she is the absolute best there is. She made more progress with Toby than all the other trainers combined. I was so glad when we found her again and we've signed up for a consultation for Spencer! More...

We hired Emily to help with our dog Boomer and his leash reactivity. Boomer had been attacked 4 times on leash. Thankfully no serious injuries. We had our last transfer session on Saturday. Boomer is an 11 year old Cocker Spaniel. YES old dogs can learn new tricks!!! Boomer has done great. Of course she had to train us as well! Lol. Emily has given us the tools to make sure Boomer is successful and we can enjoy Long walks again. Boomer loves Emily, She is now a part if our family as far as I am concerned. I give Emily 100 stars!!!! Thank you Emily! More...

Q&As

I love being able to do what I'm most passionate about every day. Helping people understand their dog, cat, or bird's behavior in order to bring harmony back into the home is an extremely fulfilling job!

I have worked in the animal behavior field for 15 years, but have always accepted clients while working for an animal shelter or vet clinic. My husband accepted a job in Wisconsin, so I took the move as an opportunity to take the plunge and start my own business!

Transparency and honesty are extremely important to me along with making sure that the dog, cat, or bird learns in an environment that is low stress and fun! I always make it a priority to take pictures/video of progress made along with providing a detailed report to owners after every session.

This option consists of Emily or Jolene personally coaching you through the behavior modification process. All members of the family need to be present for sessions. This option is a good fit for owners who have previous training experience and have the time to commit to practice in between sessions. Sessions take place once or twice a week depending on the behavior concern(s).

The cost of in-person training sessions are $140 per hour. A 10% discount is applied for multiple sessions that are paid in full prior to the first session. This option includes a written report after every session.

This option consists of Emily or Jolene coming to your home and working with your dog multiple days per week. The final training day of the week will be spent as a "transfer session." This is where everything that your dog has learned for the week will be transferred to you so that things stay consistent. Dog guardians must be present for all transfer sessions!

A progress report will be provided after every session. You do not need to be home for training sessions, and these can be done while you're at work, running errands, etc. This option is great for busy families or professionals! This training program lasts for three weeks.

The first step to any day training package is scheduling the initial consultation. This gives us an opportunity to gather a thorough history, put together a management plan, and set clear training goals along with prioritizing those goals to create a customized experience. The initial consultation lasts 1-2 hours and includes a written report that is sent via email afterwards. Initial consultations are done remotely via Zoom, and a recording of the session itself is provided afterwards. The cost of the initial consultation is $100. There is a $50 non-refundable deposit due at the time of booking. The remaining $50 of the initial consultation fee will be due the day of the session itself.
