We're very pleased with the workmanship of the ENTIRE crew - led by Kean and Dylan. We have a 60-year old block & base/pier & beam foundation that had deteriorating joists and cracked beams along the front of our home. The living room floor had a 4" variance from wall to wall. Now, the gap between the floor and the baseboard is gone and the surrounding rooms are "level." When Dylan came out for an estimate, he was very thorough. He was the ONLY estimator (of five companies) who crawled under the house to actually analyze our problem. Because of that, he was able to provide a better estimate…unlike the other (lower) estimates that included several contingencies of “depending upon what [they] find once [they] get under the house.” Dylna took the time to explain most houses aren't "exactly level" to begin with...and that repairing the foundation of our 60-year home wasn't going to miraculously make the whole house perfectly level. He also explained the possibility of "collateral damage" to sheetrock, door frames, baseboards, etc. And, although we experienced minimal sheetrock and door frame damage on the living room wall… that was anticipated and acceptable considering our issue. During the final phase of the foundation repair, the crew leader, Eddie, walked around the house and from room to room (multiple times) assessing how the house was responding as the crew shimmed the house below. We especially appreciate his concern to balance the leveling against any severe damage to the walls and particularly to the outer veneer around the house. He took time to ensure we were satisfied and he patiently answer (all) my questions. All in all, we’re pleased and feel Home Style Builders was the best company for our job. More...

I contacted Home Style Builders to demolish our swimming pool. The pool had developed reoccurring structural issues, which we had previously before without a permanent resolution. It was no longer cost effective to repair the pool. They provided me an estimate to repair the pool or demo it. They were forthcoming in telling me the repairs most likely would not be permanent and would probably continue to cause problems. After deciding to demo the pool, they scheduled it working with us to minimize the disruption to our property. They arrived on time, worked efficiently and did what they said they would do. It was my (big) vision to update it and open it up for better entertaining and more space for family gatherings. After talking it over, drawing up the new kitchen and them giving us exactly what I asked THE END RESULT IS STUNNING AND FAR EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS! I give Home Style Builders a 5 star because the great experience we had hiring Dierdra for the water damage we sustained in the last rains from our roof leaking. From the first call she was very responsive, professional and work extra hours to schedule someone to come the same day to inspect our home. Dylan and Kean took thier time to diagnose damages, and provide a plan to resolve the broken pipes, wet ceilings , wet walls and wet kitchen area. Thier team was scheduled to come and begin the repairs within the next business day. Kean was in charge of being present making sure the team was in place, in time and checking at times the progress of the repairs. We dealt with Dierdra directly before we bought our land or started our plans. She helped us through each step of the process, and explained everything thoroughly. There are so many things to do and questions to ask when you are building a home, and Dierdra really went that extra mile to make sure we knew the answers and felt comfortable with our decisions. No one is perfect, so there were a few misunderstandings, but she was extremely patient and willing to do what it took to make us happy, so any and all issues were resolved to our complete satisfaction. What do you love most about your job?
Design and Build. We will go the extra mile to make sure our clients' projects are completed on time and smoothly. I joined the construction industry because of the godlike feeling you get after finishing a new project. Arriving at a cleared jobsite with nothing and then leaving that same jobsite a year later with a new structure is an incredible feeling. That sense of accomplishment and pride needs to be infectious and handed down to our next generation. Let’s take the time to teach the next generation the right way to produce the results we are after. Owning the company does not produce the pride. The pride comes from leaving a part of yourself on every project you work. I love going back to projects I built years ago and the memories I have of every one of them. The men and women I worked with. The things that went wrong, the things that went right. I have met more memorable characters on job sites than any place in my life. My goal now is that a new generation of young people develop and build the same memories.
Construction success is based on the “team.” Contractors really do practice the axiom, “Together Everyone Accomplishes More.” Construction companies, projects and crews are perfect for the individual who likes to share the pressure, sweat, excitement and diligence with others.

What inspired you to start your own business?
My goal from day one was to help people realize how their company can be more successful by:
Understanding their company’s identity
Identifying their capabilities
Exploiting their talents
Growing their business in a controlled manner
Establishing a business plan (and reviewing it often)
Acknowledging their failures and understanding their weaknesses
As a construction professional with over 30 years of experience, I learned that my weaknesses defined my opportunities. Perhaps we should avoid projects where the size and scope are beyond our current capabilities. Delivering a project on time and within budget without the right expertise, manpower and equipment rarely works out. Finding the right projects allows all of us to be more profitable and will result in a stronger industry. No company can do all things for all people. With a strong network, we can assure our clients that we will deliver a successful project every single time.

We provide services on site. All work regarding the earthwork for a project. The scope of the site work package can vary considerably, however the term “site work” normally references all excavation, backfill, etc. for the project. In addition to all the earthwork required on a project the inclusion of miscellaneous items such as retaining walls, paving, concrete walks and patios, landscaping, erosion and sedimentation control, etc. can be included. The site work scope of work is in many instances, all the scope of work activities on the exterior of the project. Site utilities are normally included as well as the excavation and backfill for the electrical site lighting, the irrigation, etc. on the project. Depending on the project, a large site work contractor maybe selected as the general contractor on a large site work project. This responsibility would be determined based upon the amount of actual earthwork required, in comparison to the overall scope of the project.
Site work contractors are normally the general contractor on a highway project, large erosion control projects, landfill capping requirements, salt shed construction, etc. A large successful site work contractor has a large inventory of equipment and normally employs a substantial number of employees. The financial burden of a site contractor is large, in comparison to many of the other trades, and they are usually backed financially, by substantial equity.

Place restrictions on travel.
Develop screening measures for employees who have recently traveled.
Instruct employees to stay home if they are feeling sick.
Place restrictions on in-person meetings and other employee gatherings.
Encourage employees to work from home if feasible.
Train all employees on the 6-ft distancing rule, no handshakes, etc.
Establish thorough cleaning protocols at offices and job sites.
Increase availability of cleaning supplies and handwashing stations at offices and job sites.
Donate N95 respirator masks to local hospitals.
