Doc was phenomenal, professional, and compassionate. She came to our home, spoke to us and our beloved. She asked questions learning about Otis. She explained everything she was doing to help, and followed through. I held my baby the entire time through his transition. She let us have as much time as we needed once he had passed, then brought a beautiful basket in adorned with plush blankets, arranged him to look as if he was simply sleeping all tucked in under that soft beautiful blanket and gave us more time. We were able to get pics of him at such peace. Two days later, we got a text from her checking in to see that we got rest. Three days later we received a sympathy card with a very beautifully written personal message and then she posted a memorial for Otis on her page. If you are looking for a compassionate person, a way to help your pet cross Rainbow bridge without the stress... she is the one. a total godsend. Thank you Doc! We appreciate all that you have done to honor not just Otis, but our feelings too. More...

I couldn’t have said goodbye without Dr. B - she responded to my initial phone call, which was the absolute hardest call to make - within hours and came to my house 2 days later. The compassion, patience, and support she and her assistant showed will never be forgotten. She answered every question, explained every step, and treated my Riggs like he was her own. The pain and grief have been unbearable, but the lock of fur, beautiful card, and genuine thoughtfulness from Dr. B has made it possible to get through the last 3 weeks. Bunny was my little baby girl for 14 years. She had the tiniest, sweetest mew and disposition. She was affectionate and just had to be in my lap or sleeping on my chest at night. I miss her so. The kind and compassionate Dr. B was so supportive since Bunny’s cancer diagnosis in November. She was, in fact, her vet when I first adopted her and I turned to Dr. B for support without hesitation. Having her come to my home to facilitate our goodbye was a blessing. Bunny’s kitty brother, Lyle (aka Puppy) sat quietly next to me through the whole farewell. And, he never sits quietly! He and I both miss her terribly - I still weep a bit and he still sulks - but Dr B reminded me again today that my suffering is so that Bunny does not have to. I find peace in that. Dr. B, you are special and I thank you. More...

It was just a few months ago that my husband and I had to make the last minute decision to stop our precious cat Gary's pain. I was at work, it was off business hrs and our "then" personal vet ditched us! My husband found Dr B on line and called her. She had previous plans but canceled them to come to our home at 8PM. I left worked to meet her here in my home. Instead of her rushing (considering how late it was) she first eased our Gary's pain to relax him, then she sat patiently allowing us time to grieve and except the process before anything was final she asked more then once when we were ready. She didnt just treat our Gary. She treated us! She did it with dignity and made one of our most painful decisions as peaceful as possible. More...

Yesterday we laid our sweet Marius to rest. Known to most as Bean, he was the type of dog that everyone loved. Marius spent the last 2 ½ months of his (almost 15) years under Hospice and Palliative care with Dr Buisson of @Helping Hands. Not only did she help him live his days with less pain through a balanced pain care regimen, she also greatly improved his quality of life. Dr B showed us ways to help redirect his attention from pain to joy, simple things that we just hadn’t thought of while being in the middle of it all, things like going for short walks together and purchasing him a snuffle mat so he could forage for treats. These activities improved his cognition, and less mental confusion meant more time for Bean to have fun. And when his time came she helped him pass at home with dignity and compassion. We really could not have asked for a better experience for him. I thank her with all of the love in my heart for helping our baby pass so peacefully, and for being there to show support for all of us as well. More...

Putting our baby Mekara down was the most selfless difficult decision we’ve ever had to make. But Dr B somehow managed to make the entire process painfully beautiful. There are truly no words to express the gratitude we feel for the compassion, comfort and patience she provided us during this experience. Our journey with Helping Hands Pet Hospice began a few weeks ago. We called Dr B about putting our boy Marius down because he was suffering from anorexia and his health had been declining. She suggested we consider a Hospice/Palliative care evaluation to see if there was anything that could be done to improve his quality of life before deciding on euthanasia. Our girl Mekara was in a lot of pain due to arthritis, and Dr B explained that there were pain regimens available that we hadn’t tried yet. So we decided to have her evaluated as well. Upon evaluation Dr B offer both our dogs the option of palliative Hospice care. We decided to move forward with treatment and wait to euthanize based on their quality of life with treatment. Both dogs started to improve, but Mekara even more so. She was able to go for walks and play with her brother again. It was amazing! Then she suddenly developed Vestibular disease. She was dizzy, nauseated and unable to eat or drink. She could not stand up or even pick up her head. Watching her suffer like that was excruciating. So we did what we knew we had to do. We called Dr B and had her come out to euthanize our baby girl. I cannot explain how wonderful it was not to have to move her in that state. She was able to pass away in our living room surrounded by soft warm pillows and her entire family. Grandma was even able to provide her last and favorite treat. As she licked peanut butter and ice cream from a spoon, we opened the windows and she sniffed the aromas of the beautiful sun shower passing by on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon. Thank you Dr B for making this possible, it means more than you’ll ever know! When it’s time for our boy to go Helping Hands Pet Hospice will be the only choice for us. More...

I have had the pleasure and honor of knowing and working with Dr B for over 10 years. As a CVT , My experience with her had always been on the work side where I saw the compassionate, caring , dedicated and patient side of her. Last year, after my own cancer diagnosis, I was on the other side of the fence. Two of my own cats became ill and each were diagnosed with different terminal diseases. As I was becoming sickly with chemo treatment, my kitties even with treatments and medications were declining fast to the point their quality of life was reaching a no return point. I reached out to Dr B and she was comforting and supportive and was there to help me emotionally when I made the decision to let them go. I am so impressed by the compassion shown to my beloved pet and also the support i recieved as caregiver and best friend to Beauregard. I have been in the medical field over 40 yrs as an xray and ulrasound tech. I am so relieved to not be alone in the decision making process concerning the care and end of care of a beloved pet. I have felt guilt in the past having to make the decision on the end of life care of a pet. Did i do everything i could, did i have other options? Is he in pain? I can't get him to the vet due to back and hip disabilities, did that play a role in the decision i made? I felt all my questions were addressed, i was not rushed. Dr B was very flexible with my work schedule and my Beau really felt comfortable with her. So far i am very happy with his care and highly recommend her for anyone in my situation and she probably is able to adapt to a multitude of situations because character, poise, confidence and expertise is always a winning combination.
