Joel has been teaching our Gentle Yoga Class here at Carlsbad Seapointe Resort for our adult and senior guests and they absolutely love and enjoy everything about his Gentle Yoga Class. He takes the time to understand each and every participant and has a special caring way to ensure that everyone feels capable of achieving a great and productive yoga experience. Joel's skill and knowledge allowed us to invite anybody no matter what age or ability level. He knew exactly what to incorporate. By the end of the classes, Joel has always been successful with making our guest feel relaxed and rejuvenated! On top of that I really appreciate Joel's excellent communication. Joel clearly has a deep understanding of the experience of the participant in his classes. His guiding dialogue shows an understanding of where minds might wander, where and when particular muscle tension might be experienced and ways to modify the practice for either greater comfort or greater intensity. I met Joel at the beginning of an intensive training program in health and wellness coaching. These professional level classes continued for nine months with active participation required. I was able to truly get to know Joel — as a colleague and on a personal level. His credentials are far reaching with certifications in the fields of fitness, health coaching and yoga. It’s his skills as a coach which embrace everything he does. Joel is a wonderful listener. Whatever he is working with a client on his thoroughness reflects an empathetic nonjudgmental style. I have been working with Joel for over a year. When I first started I wasn't sure what to expect or how I'd be feeling about all the work ahead of me. Honestly, I was overwhelmed. I knew that I was really tossing a mess of a individual at Joel. Joel is an amazing Life Coach. I use that term because every single time I met with Joel, not only was my body changing for the better but my heart and mind were also getting healthier. I would learn a new skill to use in my life. I never knew what to expect, but Joel never disappointed. It still amazes me how he can share an idea with me to use in my every day life and it would just resonate within my body and mind. It would give my life a new purpose and I couldn't wait to go out and practice my new skill. I quickly began to look forward to our meetings. I have become a better human being and not only for me but for others. I'm healthier in my mind, body and soul. This man is a true inspiration and for me a miracle that entered my life at the right time. This was a time in which, I felt lost and unsure that I would ever feel better. He never wavered and always has an unbelievable amount of energy. That energy is contagious and would make me want to work harder and harder. Even if I came with zero energy and was having a bad day, Joel could sense that and with compassion he would create my workout for that specific day. I love Private Yoga with Joel! He has helped me to become more flexible and toned and I feel so much more relaxed after class. Being one-on-one means he’s always attuned to my specific needs and he can adapt for how I am doing that day. I never thought I would prefer virtual yoga, but I love how much time I save and I feel so much more comfortable doing Yoga in my own home without anyone watching me. I have gained tremendous positivity in my overall well-being from working with Joel. I can tell he truly cares about helping me achieve this and that makes a big difference. Not only well-being, as with his guidance I was able to step up to a faster group in my local bike club, which was a huge goal of mine. I have a hard time shutting my mind off - when it comes to meditation so I normally do not do them after a few times of trying many years ago. I decided to give it another shot and saw Joel's 20 min body scan. Wow weee - it worked. I felt as if Joel was in the room with me and when my mind would start wondering I felt like he would perfectly chime in to re-focus. I have never felt such a state of relaxation. I have worked with Joel for many years and am truly happy with the results I have acquired! He has helped me reach a couple sport related goals that were very important to me. One of the best experiences of my life has been to start practicing yoga. Joel was my rehabilitation instructor a few years ago and thanks to him I can move my arm! When he invited me to practice yoga, I never imagined how wonderful it would be and now I am happier because he spends his time taking care of my body and my movements. I believe that success starts with listening closely to understand your needs, abilities and intentions for your practice. After deeply understanding your needs it’s all about helping you to build the foundation to get there. As you build the foundation, it’s all about open communication to continue to adapt and evolve together as you achieve your intentions. When you have a vision for where you want to go, practice consistently and build the right foundation - anything is possible.

I believe that great things can begin to happen in a short time, however the best results always come when performing sustainable behaviors with consistency over time. The most amazing thing is when you do something that‘s challenging, but also manageable and sustainable for 3 months, 6 months, a year, 3 years and all of a sudden you wake up one day and your whole life has been transformed!

My greatest joy is to get to know and understand the people I’m working with. I love getting a deep understanding of what someone needs and then having the opportunity to share in the mission to help them to accomplish their intention. When they achieve their goals, I definitely feel some of the same satisfaction having shared and been so invested in the process.

I started in the wellness after my father had a heart attack at age 53, which was one year than my grandmother was when she passed away from a heart attack. I was scared for my dad and for myself to lose him. I was also lucky that he survived a triple bypass surgery. Today it brings great meaning and joy for me to help others who are 50+ to feel strong and healthy for themselves as well as for the benefit of all of their loved ones around them.

When you work with me, I’ll listen deeply to your needs and values and collaborate with you to build a practice that is meaningful to you and the outcomes that you are hoping to achieve. As you progress, I’ll work alongside you to help you to evolve and adapt all while working to center your intuition which helps you to build the skills to make your changes sustainable.
