Q&As

Making a difference. There is no doubt that I have helped to change people’s lives, both directly and indirectly, through the work that I do and that this is very rewarding and a driver for me. It can be in many ways. It may be by helping them to secure a new position against the odds, encouraging them to go it alone and set up a new business or just to give them a focus and new sense of self-worth when their confidence and self-esteem has been at a low point.
I have seen visible changes in people for example when they see what they have really achieved at work captured effectively in their Resume, learnt some fresh insights into their personality which make them realize what is unique about them and why then can change direction in their careers or just by helping them nail a job interview and convert it into an offer. I enjoy every new success and this has spurred me on to the next challenge.

The average employer spends 4 to 10 seconds reading your resume.
Does your resume have what it takes to grab their attention — and keep it? How can you stand out? What should you highlight? How do you explain gaps and career transitions? Writing your own resume can be a daunting task. Because the stakes are high — and because it can be hard to take a birds-eye view of your experience, knowing what skills and competencies to showcase — hiring a professional resume writer can be one of the most prudent investments you can make in your career.

Career coaching helps individuals who want to find a fulfilling career that utilizes their strengths and complements their values and interests. Recent graduates, adults considering a career change, or those re-entering the workforce can benefit from working with a career coach, who will help them establish professional goals, create a plan, and overcome obstacles that may be in the way.
Career coaches can help people with a wide array of career-related goals and issues. Some seek career coaching because they're stuck in a dead-end job that brings no meaning or purpose to their lives, while others are challenged by the demands of balancing their work lives with their personal lives. Some clients know exactly what they want to do with their lives, but need help finding and executing a plan to get there, while others have languished without a clear calling in life. Career coaching helps people with all of these concerns and more.
While you can get some value from a single career coaching session, the real benefit of hiring a career coach is experienced through an ongoing relationship aimed at achieving your goals and creating long-term positive change in your life. To support their clients in achieving their goals from start to finish, I offer a comprehensive monthly coaching package that includes things like:
Career and personality assessments
Scheduled one-on-one coaching sessions
Email and text message support
Between-session homework
Resume/Interviewing building

Investing in hiring a career coach isn't for everyone and really depends on your goals and what you'd like to achieve in your professional life.

Why do we need to build interviewing skills? The art of job searching, and job acquisition requires more than a great resume, attractive cover letter and perfectly completed application. The application, resume, cover letter and references are only an introduction. The interview frequently tips the scale between getting a job or head-in-hand reflection. It is true that most people who are granted an interview have already satisfied the basic qualifications for employment. However, poor interview performances can keep prospective employees from being hired.
"Like any good performance, a winning interview requires preparation and rehearsal."
-- Perlmutter Block
How can you benefit from developing interviewing skills? Whether it is the first interview or the 20th, everyone needs to know how to handle all three parts of an interview: the preparation for the interview, the actual interview and the time after the interview. Learning interviewing skills may assist you in several capacities. As stated above, good interviewing skills will help you secure employment. In addition, good interviewing skills will teach you how
to determine if the job suits your individual goals and employment needs.
Practicing interviewing skills will also assist you with presentation and public speaking skills. Finally, practicing interviewing will help you identify transferable work skills and develop skills useful in jobs where interviewing experience is necessary (for example: interviewing clerk, welfare eligibility workers, sportscasters and employment interviewers).
