GIRLS gym is more than just a gym, it’s a community. The trainers and owners (Sarah and Gary) are kind, patient, welcoming and very knowledgeable. They make you feel supported no matter what your level or experience is. The other women that train there are awesome- I’ve made lots of friends and I’ve really enjoyed feeling apart of a close community. Since training at GIRLS gym I’ve become stronger, more skilled and more confident. I can’t recommend this place enough! More...

I've been going to the G.I.R.L.S. Gym for about two years now. I was pretty nervous to walk in, as I thought that my complete lack of experience would embarrass me, and the ladies might be cold or unwelcoming. I was completely wrong! Everyone is so welcoming and very laid back, but you get a workout, and a great training experience. The instructors are easy to talk to and get you started right away. Even though my partner was more experienced than me, she was helpful with getting me comfortable and getting a good workout. There are women of all fitness levels coming, and I appreciate that the instructors push us in a positive (not at all demeaning or aggressive) way. Now I can't imagine life without this community of strong, funny, amazing women! More...

Tried out the gym for the first time three years ago in the midst of the worst depressive episode I've ever slogged through, now it's one of the pillars of my mental health care & maintenance. Anxious? Irritable? Exhausted by the banal crush of life day after day? Come here and kick something as hard as you can, I swear it helps. Kind of like xanax, if xanax gave you biceps. Or like, how you felt right after you saw Wonder Woman in the theater and kind of wanted to swing a big sword around and bodyslam a tank.
The instructors are knowledgeable, welcoming of all skill levels, happy to help you with your individual goals and needs, and willing to repeat how to do an arm bar step by step 146 times until it finally drips through the brain fog into your rude and shriveled hippocampus and you can remember how to do it! The students uphold a sweet and supportive culture, and the mix of skill levels in classes means that you can pick up the rad tips, tricks, and spinning kicks from everyone around you.
Give GIRLS gym a try. Spite everything in your life that's trying to make you miserable. Punch your depression in the face.

I just attended my second kickboxing class at G.I.R.L.S. Gym, and there's so many reasons to keep going back. I have been welcomed by coaches and other students alike, I started learning right away, and it's welcoming of all skill levels. I'm in my mid 30s and this is the first time I've learned a new sport in a LONG time, and I feel like I am challenged as well as given patient, thoughtful guidance. Thanks, G.I.R.L.S. Gym! More...

I've been here for four years. So I have a lot to say. But it can be summarized in three ways!As a student: I came in with no athletic or martial arts experience whatsoever. I just wanted to try out kickboxing as a way to exercise while learning. I got way more than I bargained for in the best way. Through this gym, I discovered a love for martial arts and combat sports that I'll carry with me forever. Whether it's jiu jitsu, kickboxing or MMA, there is no question too dumb and you'll never be made to feel that you're not good enough. It's a safe learning environment that lets you go at your own speed and choose your own adventure. As a competitor: I compete in jiu jitsu tournaments in the area a few times a year. Competition, for those who are interested, is stressed as a tool for learning and experience. I've experienced a fair amount of both successful and unsuccessful matches, and I've never been made to feel as though losing was anything other than just one more learning experience to draw from in the future. This keeps me motivated and compelled to improve as opposed to afraid to let down my team and coaches. As a human: My teammates and coaches represent a network of people I can rely on to allow me to learn in a safe environment, make me laugh every day and improve physically and mentally. My life would look very different if I'd never taken a chance to try something new.The one-star review down below is kind of appalling, actually. I've seen both of the head coaches work with brand new beginners nearly every week for the last four years and they're nothing but patient and encouraging. This gym absolutely welcomes beginners and the only thing the beginner needs to bring is a good attitude and willingness to learn. More...

This is my forth year at GIRLS Gym! I only do CombatFit Bootcamp, no martial arts or kickboxing. I absolutely adore Gary and Sarah! They are the sweetest and are super knowledgeable regarding mixed martial arts, kickboxing, as well as general conditioning! I find that the Bootcamp is a perfect workout for me! Sarah tells me what to do for an hour and I'm sore afterwards! There are a range of girls who choose to be a part of GIRLS Gym. From young (teenagers) to old (there is no age limit), I have found that GIRLS Gym is all inclusive and willing to adapt to any modifications one may need to make. I've had nothing but positive and supportive experiences at this gym and honestly I HATE gyms! I always end up feeling self conscious and like the odd one out in other fitness centers. GIRLS Gym is more like a team than a gym. It's a pretty awesome feeling. More...

This gym has one of the most welcoming and inviting attitudes I have ever come across. The friendly/easy-going atmosphere is contagious. Coach Sarah(love her) and Coach Gary(love him) are super patient and kind. They have made my experience so enjoyable and have taught me so many great things. They make working out and learning fun.
