Got my house inspected so I could receive an elevation certificate to reduce my flood insurance and it was really easy to set up, they came out only 2 days after I called and explained thoroughly what I'd need to install for a flood vent in order to meet the standard for elevation. I spoke to Louie (very sweet) and he said after I put in the flood vent he'd waive the fee to come and re-inspect it which was so helpful because I was very tight on a budget after buying the house and moving in. They were plenty fast and efficient, I never had to show up in person, just phone to schedule and got an email of the report back. I am in the process of buying a house, and the homeowner's insurance company will not issue me a policy because: "This Elevation Certificate is missing the level for the highest adjacent grade, which was required at the time the cert was completed. Due to this, we cannot issue the policy based off of the information provided. The insured will need to provide a new certificate which reflects all required levels." My insurance agent recommended I call Gilbert, Kelly & Couturie to have them survey the property and issue a new EC.When I called, Michelle informed me that it would be better for me to first call the firm that issued the Elevation Certificate to see if they could update the existing form, rather than me spending $250 to get a new survey done. I am extremely impressed that Michelle asked the correct questions and helped me, who knows nothing about surveying, figure out what I needed to do, even if that meant she would not get my business at this time. I called Gilbert Kelly and Couturie for a Survey of my home and the staff that came out was professional, well mannered, and very conscious of my property and handled it very respectfully. When I was given a scheduled date, I was told by Michele who handled my call, to make sure the surveyors had access to the complete outside property. They got here within scheduled time, Mr. Hartman made me aware that they had arrived, the two young men that assisted (Dane & Josh ) were knowledgeable and Mr. Hartman the lead Young man was experienced, he is customer oriented, he explained everything before he left.
