They have a phenomenal seafood counter. For example: I normally will not eat swordfish unless I am on Martha's Vineyard as it is otherwise too dry, and not very flavorful. The swordfish from this market looked great, and tasted great just like everything else we have tried there. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, they're always willing to go the extra mile to find something you need. It feels more spacious than many NYC markets, and that extra room to navigate the aisles is really useful. My wife and I walked in on a Friday afternoon to cool off and get some beverages while it was 100 degrees outside. The employees were so welcoming and knew exactly what we needed at the store. They even gave us some compliment bites when the owner saw my wife eyeing the snack/salad bar. We ended up doing our grocery shopping for the week even though we live in Philadelphia. I was impressed with the meat section! The prices were way better than Trader Joe's, and the quality was even better. When we told the staff that we need to drive to Philadelphia with the groceries, the owner gentlemen provided extra coolant packaging for the dairy and the meat we bought since our car was mobil sauna. We will make sure to stop by every time we're in Brooklyn. I wish they open a market in Philadelphia. More...

Did not expect the place to be as good just by looking from outside. Very large variety of brands and products, especially the fresh produce section. I love this place even more than my wallet hates it. Expect to pay through the nose for produce and packaged meat. The Garden of Eden's strength comes from their house-made products. The meat and fish counters are of the highest quality. Their prepared buffet and even the sushi is phenomenal. And above all, their crumb cakes (across from the fish counter) are beyond phenomenal. This grocery chain carries plenty of specialty items and hot lunch buffet. Everything clean and orderly. The produce seems fresh and I’ve compared to the Farmer’s Market and they are sometimes cheaper. The deli counter and cheese array have plenty to choose from. it's extensive with a good fish counter in the back. also excellent salad/lunch bar by the pound. big cheese section, bakery, etc. basically a mini whole foods with fairly high prices. but very convenient and far less busy than the actual whole foods in union sq. great fish. highly recommended to stop by to pick up ingredients for a tasty dinner on your way home. Aside from the food being extremely fresh and super good, the staff here are extremely helpful. My metrocard fell inside of the refrigerator's ventilation and the store manager along with several other employees went beyond measures to help me retrieve it.
