My laptop completely quit on me recently. I took it in to FoothillTek and the tech there immediately looked it over and let me know that I'd need a new main board. Given that it was over 5 years old he suggested it would be better just to buy another. He gave me advice on how to retrieve my files from the old hard drive which was still working fine. Then, he gave me advice about what to look for in a new computer. He spent probably 20minutes or more on my problem and patiently answered every one of my dumb questions. I had FoothillTek upgrade the 256 GB SSD in my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014) to a 1 TB SSD.  I ended up with 2 internal SSD's while booting off of the larger.  The job was done successfully and on time.  All software worked correctly after the job was completed.  I am very happy with the process. After continually being screwed over by Greek squad for the simplest of jobs and having them basically trying to charge me the price of a new laptop just to fix my screen or touchpad I was told about FoothillTEK from my wife friend and a coworker and what do I think of FoothillTEK.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO GREEK SQUAD OR ANYBODY ELSE.
After talking with the tech Alan I can tell he knows exactly what he's talking about and he know good business and customer services skills equals repeat customers you can tell Alan and the owner peter just want to help people get their issue resolved they don't talk and treat you like a sale they treat you like a person and genuinely want to help you and get you what you want and need.

So I just experienced the best customer service possible. I'm not sure if yelp allows enough words to truly explain the story so I will keep it as short and to the point as I can. I will visit FoothillTek on a regular basis from now on. It started as a regular Xmas holiday skit where the husband waits too long to buy that cool item for the wife. Something that will get her creative juices flowing again to remind her that she is talented and awesome. This story usually ends with a "sorry, I tried and it's the thought that counts" line that evokes a smile when I tell her of my intentions weeks later. But this was no ordinary day. Not if Collin at FoothillTek has something to say about it. The item I was looking for was something they shouldnt even carry but I was a desperate man. So after I hung up and started to google another place my phone rang again. It was Collin. He just so happened to know someone at the manufactures office and he could make a little call for me if I really wanted the item. Two hours later and it is now in my hands. What a relief!! Alan and his team came to our rescue when our Apple crashed.Within a couple of days we were back in business. ...literally!They presented us with solid options at very competitive rates. We opted to upgrade our hard drive to a solid state hard drive and it's been fantastic! More efficient, more quiet and no more moving parts making it in the long run much more reliable.Alan even stayed after closing hours for us to pick up our computer from their shop. Sadly, that type of service doesn't happen  often in Los Angeles!! So grateful to have them here in Sierra Madre. I don't care if you live in Santa Monica or in Claremont, Peter and the gang at Foothill Tek are the best!I had an AV installation from 2005 that Peter quickly assessed and modernized with wonderful new equipment. He took a giant shopping bag of obsolete wires out of my system and made it 2014 compatible.  As a result of his work, I got more ease of use with my expansive AV system.  Nothing phases Peter and his able colleague Sharif.  There are many photos on his shop wall from celebrities that Peter has helped over the years that contain love notes.  After you work with Peter, you'll love him too!Make sure you call these guys.  I use them for computer repair and iphone/android glass repair as well. My MacBook Pro's screen went black. I wondered if it could be repaired and decided to try the new computer repair place in town, Foothill Tek. I wanted to repair it if I could (even at 10 yrs old). But the Graphics Card had died and there was no hope. Bummer! Especially when you're an entrepreneur who runs her business out of that box! Peter and Brendan helped me get up and running in a few days. I purchased a used 15" MacBook Pro from them with several accessories. And they were able to remove all the essentials from my old hard drive and upload them to my new one. I'm now back in business. For something that could have been SUPER painful, it was relatively painless. I highly recommend them! Especially if your knowledge of computers is limited, like mine. More...
