What inspired you to start your own business?
Marty Jenoff is the President of Focal Point Productions, and as a Maryland videographer for nearly 25 years, he's recorded thousands of hours of footage. Marty got his start in video production at the age of 13. He used the gift money from his bar mitzvah to purchase an RCA VHS camcorder.
As a student, Marty pioneered the first high school television station in the Baltimore County School System, at Owings Mills High School. "Eagle TV" quickly became a model for other student run video programs throughout the County.
After graduating from Towson University in 2000 with a B.S. in Mass Communications, Marty started Focal Point Productions. In the beginning, final videos were delivered on VHS tapes. A few years later, clients started asking for DVDs. Now, electronic files for YouTube, Facebook, and other social media sites are the big demand. The technology has changed so much since Focal Point Productions first started. In 2000, video resolutions were 720x480 pixels. Now, with HD, the resolution has almost tripled. And with 4k and 8K on the horizon, sizes are about to triple again. Marty and Focal Point have prided themselves on staying on top of the technology market.
