I have been training with this team for a little over a year now. When I started, I was 9 months from knee replacement surgery, and still could not work a 13- hour week without pain. I started with 3 times a week, then 2, now 1; incorporating home exercise plan the entire time. Not only can I work a good week of work without pain, I actually went on a 3 hour hike in the rain forests on Maui just about 2 weeks ago, and could do all the scrambling over slippery rocks, walking up and down muddy, slippery trails, and jump into the pools below the waterfalls! My daughter Brooke injured her right shoulder back in mid February of this year at a softball tournament, her pain level was a 3, she kept batting but didn’t throw, in March during practice she hit a ball to the fence and her pain level went to a six and stayed there. We took her to a sports doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, had an MRI, and had four visits of PT from February to June. Her pain level never went down, it actually went up during those 4 PT visits (around a 9 or 10, with 10 being the worst). Doctors were telling her they couldn’t help her, that she should give up playing softball, and would just have to deal with pain in her shoulder because of her hyper mobility. We decided to take her to our chiropractor, Dr. Jessica Bryant, who referred us to Fitness Beyond Training in Salado. She was evaluated by Mira and has been doing Physical Therapy with them since July 15 to help her shoulder injury and hyper mobility. Within three weeks of working with Angelie & Tracy her pain level dropped to a three and now happily can say her pain level is at zero. Can’t say enough about this place, the one on one treatment my daughter got from Angelie was awesome!! I highly recommend this place to anyone struggling with injuries or pain. Mira, Chris and Jayc are amazing. When I started going to Fitness Beyond Training, I thought it would be to work on my leg that was still painful after a knee replacement 2 years ago. After meeting with Mira and going through testing, the issue wasn’t just from the surgery. With Mira, Chris and Jayc I am learning how to use my core and how to release my muscles when they tighten up and cause pain.The team has shown me that pain in one area can be caused by other parts of the body and over compensating in other areas. These are some of the exercises and stretches I’m doing to improve my muscular imbalances and stabilization issues. These workouts aren’t meant to add muscle mass or lean me down, they’re to train my brain and muscles to communicate properly so my dominant muscles don’t take over all the time (neuromuscular re-education) like they used to. The imbalances lead to dysfunction in my movements and resulted in muscle and joint aches. The body needs to learn how to do an exercise properly, with stability and correct muscles firing, before adding load, intensity, speed, or other stressors. When the body moves properly, it leads to longevity. I may be 50 already, but I plan on being active and strong for many decades ahead, and building this foundation will get me there! Before I came to FBT, I thought I knew how to keep myself healthy and about working out. Turns out that I had developed unhealthy fitness and nutritional mindsets. After being a client of theirs for almost two years, I have learned not only how to push myself fitness wise and see food as fuel, but also how to be confident in my body, no matter how it looks. Everyone at the studio is amazing in their own special way. Jacy is literally the sweetest human ever, and speaks nothing but nutritional advice, body positivity, and advocacy for turkey bites. Mira is such a fantastic leader, and knows how to push you out of your comfort zone, but not enough to where you are in pain. She is a true expert in this business. Tracy is sooooo good at a killer butt workout, and is just so positive to be around. Chris Vega is kind of iconic. I enjoy being challenged in his workouts, and reaching levels of fitness stamina I never knew I could achieve. He is so encouraging, and he did nothing but challenge my competitive nature. Also, he is quite the coffee connoisseur, so we love him. Angelie Juaneza is especially amazing at what she does, and has literally changed my life. She truly cares about every client that walks into the studio, and will make sure that we are not only physically healthy, but also mentally stable as well. Her workouts are unique to each person she works with, and makes it her job to know your body and your potential just as much as you do. She is kind, loyal, and the best fitness professional out there. I came into that studio with an unhealthy relationship with food, fitness, and myself, and FBT (and Angelie Juaneza) changed my habits and lifestyle for the better. I can honestly say that life would not be the same without them. RUN DO NOT WALK to Fitness Beyond Training for all of your physical, mental, and nutritional health needs...but you still will have to run 800 repeats (possibly) so not too fast so that you burn out ;). The whole staff at Fitness Beyond Training is highly trained . They each havrtheir experience and knowledge to encourage and train me and motivate me. When i first came here a few months ago I had become dangerously sedentary and had trouble doing daily activities. Now I am able to enjoy yard work and other physically demanding activities. My name is Hunter. I suffered an extreme injury to my spine in the middle of my high school baseball season. After the injury I assumed my physical goals were out of reach. I had surgery on my back and was quickly allowed to return to athletic activities. As I began working out again, my family searched for a physical therapist. We could not find one and heard great things about FBT and decided to give it a try. I was introduced to Chris Vega, one of the Exercise Physiologists that works for FBT. I have seen him many times in the last couple months and can say with certainty he is the most positive and most encouraging person I have been blessed to work with. What can I say? These ladies have changed my life. A year and a half ago I knew nothing about nutrition or exercise. this is a first for me, i am 67 and been in many accidents. i realized what was happening to my body and i was not going to let it get worst, so i searched out a trainer while visiting my daughter , oh am i so thankful. the professional research done first to see what i needed and the listening to me as to the goals i wanted to achieve. the team is real and great, but my trainer Angelie, that is a keeper. she catches things and explains and communicate so well. we have done video sessions since i am back in Wyoming and the results are unbelievable. i would recommend Angelie to any one with the greatest of honors.Bill Schilling More...

After a dozen years as a group fitness instructor, mainly at Gold's Gym in Killeen, my body was 'in-shape' but suffered from over-use due to repetitive movements. I was feeling it mainly in my shoulders and hips. I had also suffered a serious hamstring injury a year prior that has not fully healed. Along with additional muscle imbalances, my upper body was constantly tight and sore, my hips had a deep, throbbing pain, and my shoulders felt impinged. I was very interested in the Exercise Physiology Assessment process and results. I know a lot about anatomy and biomechanics but the information I learned about my body just from the assessment was very impressive. The comprehensive testing took about an hour and gauged my range of motion in all major joints. The assessment report given to me explained that I had muscles that were dominant movers even when another muscle should be primary. It all made so much sense as to why I had constant tightness in certain areas, and weakness in others. I wanted to feel real progress in a short time so I signed up for 2 sessions per week. Each training session was designed to encourage my body to use the correct muscle; this is achieved both consciously (learning what it 'feels' like to do it properly), and subconsciously (via neuromuscular reeducation exercises). Within just 3 weeks I felt a real difference; the tightness in my upper back and shoulders, and the pain in my hips, were unnoticeable. Mira and Angelie kept me on track with constant reassessment to gauge my progress, and I could feel for myself how much better my body was working. Even at 49, with Personal Training and Group Fitness certifications, I had so much to learn about moving my body properly! The concise, detailed knowledge that this team of Exercise Physiologists possesses is unmatched, in my experience. Teaching the body to undo decades of bad habits takes time, but with each session I experienced less discomfort in my muscles and joints. Chiropractic care at Corrective Chiropractic & Wellness has done wonders for my spine, joints, and overall health; and Fitness Beyond Training, along with massage, has brought me even farther. I'm turning 50 next month and have no plans to slow down; in fact my goal is to increase my fitness in all aspects and continue going strong for many decades. I truly believe that FBT will make this possible and that I could not achieve my fitness goals without them. My only regret is not starting sooner. It's absolutely worth every penny! More...

I am in my 70th year on this planet and a couple of years ago spend some time in the hospital with a heart infection. Following that event I was diagnosed with Exercise Intolerance Disease and was well on the way to becoming an invalid. My wife and daughter talked me into signing up at Fitness Beyond Training and my life was changed. Now, about a year later I am very nearly as fit and mobile as I was before hospitalization and have every expectation of moving on to be in better shape than before my pericarditis. As an additional benefit, I have woken up most mornings for the past ten years with a headache that would radiate across the top of my head and be incapacitating without a heavy dose of ibuprofen. FBT exercise physiologists identified the source of that headache in my IT band of muscles and within a month of starting with them, the headaches vanished. I can now sit on the floor and play with my grandchildren, and critically, easily get up to my feet afteward! All I can say is that at least for me Fitness Beyond Training exercise physiology has been nothing short of a miracle. I had knee replacement surgery in January of 2018. I went through 2 rounds of Physical Therapy—10 weeks each, and still had lots of pain in my hamstrings, I limped all the time, and would be in tears after working a reduced hours shift of work. Nothing I did was helping. After only a few weeks with Mira and her team, I am walking normally, no longer need to ice every few hours, I have improved flexibility and stamina. I went on holiday 2 weeks ago, and actually DANCED all night to a punk rock band! First time dancing in a decade or more! I am beyond thrilled that my Chiropractor brought in this team of miracle workers! I cannot recommend them highly enough! I had the experience of interning as well as working with Fitness Beyond Training for several months while playing baseball at the same time. Once I learned more about corrective exercise and other philosophies of FBT, I adapted it into my own training programs to help with the nagging injuries that come with pitching. All of the highly educated staff members were extremely supportive and willing to go above and beyond to help me in my talents not only as a trainer, but as an athlete as well. As soon as I started altering my training programs to meet my body's individual needs better, my constant shoulder pain, bicep tendonitis and hip discomfort were gone within weeks. I saw the velocity on my fastball increase immediately and following the season, I was given the opportunity to play professional baseball for the remainder of the summer. I cannot rave enough about FBT! The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was extremely knowledgeable! I am a mother of 5 and work a fulltime job which is difficult enough when you are trying to take care of yourself. Unlike other programs I have tried, FBT understood my hectic schedule yet also understood my desire to feel better and get into shape! FBT performed detailed assessments that were thoroughly explained. After these assessments were completed, a detailed (but manageable) program was built specific to my needs and wants! FBT works closely with me to make sure that I am achieving my goals and helps me meet new ones by changing and/or tweaking my program according to my progress and needs. I am seeing and feeling results and naturally correcting dysfunctions that I didn't even know that I had, which in turn is helping me finally achieve goals that I have been working towards for many years! I have been working with Fitness Beyond Training in Salado, TX for 9 months now. I knew that if I didn’t do something, I would need knee replacements as I had injured both knees in the past. When I started the program, my doctor classified me as morbidly obese. I am no longer in that category.The team at Fitness Beyond Training takes a holistic approach to wellness by not only concentrating on the exercise but also nutrition. There is no “cookie cutter” approach to Fitness Beyond Training. Each program is tailored to the needs of the individual. For my nutritional needs, Jacy Mullins has been a wonderful source of ideas, suggestions, and direction. There is no prepackaged food, no points to count or exotic meal requirements. Nutrition is based on healthy eating that is once again tailored to the individual.My fitness coach is Angelie Juaneza. Angelie is an AMAZING individual with which to work. She has a Master Degree in Exercise Physiology and she knows how to design a program that works with the strengths and weaknesses of each individual. Her sessions are upbeat, encouraging and effective. I am fully aware that I must do the work, but I do not believe that I could have accomplished the success I’ve had thus far with any other coach.Over the past 9 months, I have lost 78 lbs. and more than 12” off my waist. I rarely have any pain in my knees anymore and, thanks to Angelie, I know I have avoided knee surgery. I am walking an average of 20 to 25 miles per week in addition to my sessions with Angelie. I have recently incorporated jogging into my walks – once again with no pain in my knees. I used to dread stairs or steps but not anymore. I've worked with Jacy for about 7 months. She works with her clients in a very targeted way to build muscle strength where it is needed. That approach, as opposed to a cookie-cutter workout that I had been doing on my own, has been a great benefit. My posture has improved and I am so much stronger. I see the benefits every day climbing the stairs, moving a potted plant, bringing in the groceries, etc. Jacy knows her stuff and is very conscientious about figuring out what her clients need and then delivering. Jacy was wonderful. She worked diligently with a close family member to prepare for athletic season and pushed when appropriate. The pre-testing was well worth it. Finding the basal metabolic rate allowed for a knowledge based nutritional plan to be extremely effective which in turn provided the nutritional balance necessary to make effective gains (and losses where appropriate). Her nutritional guidance in additional to the workouts made all the difference. I have worked out in my local gym for several years now but was unable to get the results I was looking for. Then I met Mira Rasmussen who was the daughter of a great friend and in our discussion on physical exercise found out that perhaps I was not working my muscle groups like I should be. After working with her knowledgeable staff I was able to learn what muscles to work on for maximum results. The staff tailored a training program for my needs and after several weeks I am seeing the results I was intending to find on my own.The staff is very professional and knowledgeable in the muscle groups of the body and how to get the maximum results. If you want to know how your muscles work and how to properly perform exercises to fit your personal fitness goals, this is the team for you. They provide personalised evaluation and training...nothing cookie-cutter about their approach. In addition, they are practical/realistic and work within your limitations if you have any to address. I started working out on my own about 7 years ago. I managed to completely change my life for the better, becoming more active, strong and able to meet the challenges of the world; however, my self lead training hit barriers. I stopped getting stronger and I even started suffering from joint pain. I really love the personal training from Fitness Beyond Training. I've had various trainers before just because I want to stay healthy - I am not a jock, I'm just trying to keep the pounds and diseases from creeping in. This is a perfect organization for this--if you want to be a jock, you can. If you want to just be fit, you can do that too. It's not a one-size fits all training program like you sometimes get in big box gyms, and my training is tailored to my goals. Mira doesn't push me (which I hate), but she challenges me. Huge difference. I also really appreciate how much they know about nutrition. Lots of really good information and suggestions. I am very happy with the results and won't leave until they kick me out. The trainers at Fitness Beyond Training are absolutely wonderful! I have felt so supported throughout this whole process. I truly feel like I have 4 personal trainers for a price less then what most gyms cost to have one . They are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. All the members of the FBT team are certified and have at least a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology so I am confident that I am in good hands. FTB offers so much more than just physical training. I have taken advantage of the diet programs they offer, specifically Power 30, and in order to maximize my outcome I took the RMR and VO2 test. Every step of the way I have felt encouraged and capable. The metabolic testing is worth every penny. I had it done 18 months ago and again a year later. The follow-up test showed that I had been successfull in losing body fat and that my exercise program is working. This test tells me how many calories I'm burning each day so I can tailor my eating and exercise plans accordingly. I'm able to maintain my weight now without dieting. I just keep my calorie intake in accordance with what I burn each day. I have a bad back and Mira has designed exercise routines that meet my exercise goals without putting stress on my low back. I've been going to Mira for exactly one year, but followed her from her previous training studio in San Antonio (where I had also worked out/trained for more than a year! ) due to her expertise and having to relocate back to the Round Rock area. I've had multiple trainers over the last ten years, but what has astounded me about Mira is how I've toned up and lost my baby weight without exacerbating a previous back/shoulder injury that I've struggled with over the last 15 years. I've lost more weight with her "creative approach" and lighter weights/more reps/incredible diversity than when I was running half-marathons and doing hours of cardio. She also incorporates a lot of stretching, pain reduction treatments, trigger point massage, foam rolling, into her weekly routine. On any given day, if I show up with a pain issue due to holding my toddler the wrong way or driving for long hours, or whatever, she will automatically switch my training plan to one that accommodates my abilities and needs. She is flexible and knowledgeable in her approach, and that is hard to find! Her advanced education and skills training is unique for a small town like Georgetown....... I feel lucky she happened to move back to this area at the same time my family and I did. The added bonus- she had a baby 8 months ago, and is very knowledgeable in what women go through trying to get back into shape while taking care of the little ones!
