James is knowledgeable, professional, and working with him was a very pleasant experience. He listened to my ideas. Identified any areas that were a problem and offered various alternatives. James did a great job for us when we converted a warehouse into an event center. There were many issues to sort out with codes, ADA, and the sprinkler system. We were told the renovation desired would require an impossible retaining wall. James didn't see it that way and came up with a design that was more than we'd dreamed Once designed, he also followed through by watching over the builder, insuring the house was built as if it had been his own. I have chosen to work with Fentress Architecture Workshop on a number of occasions, both as a homeowner and contractor. James brings to the table a great deal of experience in both residential and commercial arenas, although my experience has been limited to residential applications. While he is fully capable of creating an independent design vision for a project, he, more importantly, has the ability to LISTEN closely to the desires of the client and allow their own vision to help drive the process.
