We found Faith & Hope through Yelp and decided to retain them for our loved one's hospice care based on other customer reviews. Overall, Faith & Hope was responsive when needed and easy to work with throughout the comfort care experience. Most of the staff and medical professionals were patient, compassionate, and informative which is especially necessary during life moments that require hospice care services. Unfortunately, I had to deduct two stars from my review because we had several negative experiences with one of the overnight home nurses, Grace, during our loved ones final days.On two nights, including the night before our loved one passed, Grace was assigned to our loved one's bedside care as they neared finals days of life. Although kind, Grace displayed many unprofessional behaviors during her time with us. On one occasion, Grace was overheard watching videos (with gunshots) on her phone at loud volumes while in the room with our loved one who was trying to sleep. She also struggled to stay awake during her overnights and would forget to administer and log medications, often asking us when medication was last administered to our loved one. This was confirmed by the morning shift nurse who couldn't understand why certain medications (and oxygen) hadn't been administered to our loved one during Grace's shift. Lastly, Grace seemed to be quite rough with our loved one when repositioning or changing them, causing them to groan in pain. Other than our experience with this specific nurse, Faith & Hope was helpful to our family during our loved ones final weeks. However, we can't help but wonder if our loved one's final days were uncomfortable and painful due to Grace's negligence. More...

I want to thank all those at Faith & Hope Hospice (Ani/Mari) who helped me and mom. I was given the run around by the TCU and thank god that someone (Mari) told me the truth of the situation. These people are the best, they have a calling and they answer. My mom passed peacefully at home, this is what my mom wanted in the end.If you have a loved one that needs hospice care I highly recommend them, their kindness, and compassion really got me through my worst fears.THANK YOU! Yes, Faith and Hope is a hospice, and that means the mission is to help one transition to the other side as comfortably and easily as nature will allow. When our loved one was discharged from the hospital on hospice and expected to die within the month, we were imagining the same benign hospice experience we've witnessed with past relatives: merciful but sad. That's not what we found here. Faith and Hope is an anomaly among the genre. The staff is super responsive to the needs of the patient and makes certain every comfort is provided. The cheerfulness, never smarmy but representative of an inner serenity borne by those who view their service as a calling rather than just a job, paved the way for our prayed-for miracle. Our loved-one began to awaken to life and then to thrive, and none cheerleaded this more enthusiastically than the wonderful hospice nurses attending him. As he miraculously gained more health and self-sufficiency exiting the gloomy "woods" within which he arrived, we took him off hospice to the obvious joy of the attending hospice staff. Whether one experiences a prayed-for miracle or not, Faith and Hope belies the common stereotype of a hospice. Faith and Hope is actually, in its own way, life-affirming. More...

This was my mother's death anniversary April 27, 2018. So high time I give them a review. Here are my qualifications to do so: licensed family therapist (LMFT), Healthcare POA-elect from my mother at the time of her diagnosis (she got it 6 weeks before her death), and -- from a family with a lot of interpersonal issues that erupted in the last weeks of her life. Her children knew quite a lot about medical care, as well. So much impressed me: the kindness and efficiency (rare combination) of the administrative *and* clinical staff; the understanding of tense and emotional family dynamics (they understood I had healthcare POA and was empowered to act on that....I had to bar an estranged sibling from seeing my mother for a while due to his emotional effect on her...these are the unattractive things you are faced with when you are trying to manage the situation, grieve your parent, and protect the space. The medical staff worked well with the private caregivers she had already hired; they were respectful, taught the caregivers what to look for, and were absolute professionals. My mother was always resistant to hospice, but when she finally acceded, they were there immediately. But even *before* her consent and diagnosis, I had been researching them, Ani, the manager called me to check in on how my search was going, and they were there with oxygen when we noticed that my mom was getting hypoxic. There were so many roles I was fielding; so many emotions. It was such a relief to know that they were walking this hard journey with me, and easing the way for my mom. I just hope they keep a culture in place in their organization that cultivates the support for their employees to keep providing quality care with informed compassion and empathy. I don't know if the same staff is still there from my experience 4 years ago, but I still remember all their names, and I do know that this organization is truly run from the heart; it is unique and sacred healthcare work, and it shows. Faith and Hope came highly recommended to care for my mom in her final weeks. Their entire staff were compassionate and professional in the weeks leading up to her final week. At the end, Theresa and Solome worked 12 hour shifts around the clock to keep my mom comfortable. I cannot thank them enough for their excellent care to ease her in her final hours. I highly recommend this hospice service to help you care for your loved ones!!!Joanne More...

After my mother passed away on the evening of April 7th while under the care of Faith and Hope Hospice, Collette, the nurse who was sent to my mother's home to take the next steps informed my brother and me that my mother's remains will be sent to Rose Hills mortuary. I specifically asked Collette if that was standard procedure and whether we had other options to send her remains elsewhere since my mother wanted the most basic cremation and we knew Rose Hills was not inexpensive. Collette informed us that it was standard procedure since they had a contract with Rose Hills mortuary. Not being in the best mind frame to push back on her (mis)information, we reluctantly had our mother's remains sent to Rose Hills mortuary. We found out that Rose Hills' cremation prices were exorbitant and decided to go with a less expensive mortuary. Rose Hills charges $600 removal fee and requires other expenses expenses even for cremation in-ground burials. Nevertheless, in the process of speaking to other mortuaries, we found out that my mother's remains could have been sent directly from Faith and Hope Hospice to these less expensive mortuaries and thus avoided the $600 removal fees. I called Faith and Hope Hospice trying to find out why their nurse made it seem that we had no other choices and they didn't even have the courtesy to call me back despite informing me over the phone that they would do so.Suffice it to say, lesson learned. This is the kind of "used-cars-salesmen" type businesses that take advantage of people in vulnerable situations that should be avoided at all cost. More...
