Epicurean Escape Catering

Chef Matt and team catered a custom "Asian American Fusion" menu for my wedding of 112 guests in Santa Rosa. They went above and beyond what I expected a catering team to do. Initially communication was very smooth. They addressed all my requests, answered all my questions and worked with everyone's allergies and diet restrictions. There were some small hiccups with coordinators switching in and out, but in the end everyone that I worked with was very professional and I couldn't have asked for a better catering team! Food: Amazing. I have some major foodies in my family and they said the food was great! We also really loved some of the veggies from Chef Matt's very own garden! I wished I had room and time to eat seconds! Presentation: We got the baos and I loved the presentation in the giant dim sum baskets! I also requested a small plate of appetizers since my husband and I were taking photos during that time. I was pleasantly surprised on how lovely our appetizer plate was set for us. Chef Matt catered for our group of 20 ridiculously picky, foodie folk, and by the end of it, people were asking for his card. I didn't photograph any of it, because I just don't do food porn, and I get caught up in the whole experience, but I will say, the presentation was lovely. His staff was considerate and professional. Wow, just wow!! We stumbled upon Epicurean Escape Catering while planning our wedding, they had worked at our venue once before. As soon as we sat down for a tasting we knew we had to go with them. The head chef Matt is a genius! His creations are absolutely to die for and his helpful and kind nature instantly won us over. The rest of the team was attentive and responsive throughout the entire planning process. They went above and beyond and helped us when the unexpected came up. I love this catering company.  It's one of the best out there.  We just had them do our anniversary party and we loved the food they prepared.  We had a taco style bar and the guests were raving about it.  A few of my guests are Mexican Food diehards and they noted how the rice and meat were some of the best they ever tasted.  The food was beyond what we could imagine.  Matt is an exceptional cook and his team does an outstanding job.  You want your guests talking about the food for days afterwards then this is the place to have cater your next event.  We had a dulce de leche cupcake for dessert and it was so soft.  People's stomachs were stirring just from the smell.  Matt made fresh chips, tortillas, and used top notch ingredients.  So grateful to Matt and his team for their help.  They setup and clean up everything.  Very professional and fun to have at the party. Michael and Matt were amazing from the tasting (the best we ever had) all the way to our wedding day (6/16). Fantastic value especially considering the area. They were very accommodating to our needs and were willing to work with us on the menu (American BBQ, buffet style). We opted for drop off on the day of our wedding and they made sure we had everything situated. We had a bit of a mix up on our end and asked if they could come a half hour earlier than scheduled and they were gracious to deliver. They were easily reached through email and phone. My husband and I had our wedding May 26th 2018 and we went with Epicurean to cater. We decided on the drop off option because our venue included service for us. Their food was a hit!!! Wow!  Epicurean Escape pulled it all together for a 65th anniversary with an English Tea Theme!!  We hosted 88 people and everyone had such nice words to say.  Chef Matthew came by on the eve before while we were decorating to introduce himself and to ask if there was anything that we needed.  Michael and his staff(so sorry that I forgot her name--great person!)  were marvelous on the day of the event. Celebrated my friend's 50th last night with a group--we had flown in from all over the country.  Chef Matthew and his team were amazing.  The food was delicious, plentiful, and spot on.  The servers were friendly and attentive.  And they brought all supplies, plates, etc and left a spotless kitchen behind.  I would totally recommend them to anyone, and expect to spread the word a lot in the coming weeks! My fiancé (KT) already reviewed Epicurean Escape but they are so fantastic that I need to give one as well. I found Epicurean Escape after searching for delicious and affordable catering services for our wedding (not an easy task in Sonoma). We had our tasting on July 1st and were completely blown away with not only the food, but service from Michael and Matthew. Chef Matthew prepared the most beautifully plated and flavorful appetizers, entrees, and desserts. One of the appetizers we tried was the oatmeal crusted brie which was to die for. Their take on the kale caesar salad turned my fiancé on to kale. It was quite possibly the best caesar salad I've had. And the entrees. Oh my goodness. We sampled the bbq chicken (with bbq sauce w/ chocolate or cacao mm) and the kalbi (korean beef short ribs, also with a yummy chili sauce) and were in love. Everything was cooked to perfection. The cherry on top was when they let us try 3 of their desserts(!). We were crazy about the flourless chocolate cake and the banana wrapped in phyllo with caramel sauce. Matthew and Michael were extremely accommodating and pleasant too, which is a plus. I still think about that tasting and cannot wait for our wedding so all of our guests (but mostly us) can try Epicurean Escape! They have a lot of options too. These guys TOTALLY rocked it for my 30th birthday. We were 20 people up at a large house in Geyserville, and Matthew and his team provided a spectacular three-course meal with the highest quality level of service. Epicurean worked very closely with me to come up with a menu that would work with my budget. We got very creative - for example we brought our own cake up from SF - and we got to a price that was super reasonable.On the day of the party, the team let themselves into the house and got straight to work. They gave me great advice about where to set up everything, they set the tables, served passed appetizers, poured everyone drinks, and then serviced a delightful plated meal.My guests were literally raving about the salmon into the next day.Highly recommend! Chef Tom served an exquisite dinner for our California wine country getaway and 50th birthday bash!  We started with savory caramelized onion tartlets with bacon and goat cheese.  Next, we enjoyed a crisp salad of winter greens, heirloom beets, bleu cheese, and caramelized walnuts drizzled with a raspberry balsamic vinaigrette.  For the main course, we feasted on cabernet marinated steak garnished with dollops of wine blue cheese butter, and complimented by horseradish sweet potato gratin. This was accompanied by truffled mushroom chicken Marsala paired with garlic rosemary mashed potatoes, and French green beans. Our dinner was beautifully finished with a salted caramel and cacao nib brownie topped with Zin cherry compote, and vanilla bean whipped cream.  This was a wonderful culinary experience, and we would highly recommend Epicurean Escape Catering, and especially Chef Tom who provided friendly, personalized service and prepared a beautiful and memorable meal for us. Chef Matt and his team went above and beyond and gave us the best Wine country wedding we could have asked for. From the Presentation of the appetizers, and all the food, the cashew dark chocolate wedding gift bags, and the professionalism of his staff, we couldn't have asked for more. I hired Epicurean Escape through the Thumbtack app. It was relatively short notice but Matt's team did an amazing job!  Fist off, Matt came up with a menu that worked for a group with multiple food allergies. Great responsiveness, flexibility, and price. And best of all, the food was delicious. I had him cater three meals - a dinner that arrived hot and ready to serve plus breakfast and lunch for the following day. They were all dropped off at once which made it quite economical. The next day's meals were very easy to prepare (heat up or set out) and every one of them was fantastic. My entire group agreed. There was more than enough food for leftovers. Chef Matthew catered my 30th birthday bash in style by presenting excellent service and amazing food. My guests and I were extremely pleased with the delicious options he provided us pool side. He prepared three different kinds of meat, salsa's, vegetables, and helped us pair our food with wine. Not only was the food excellent but Chef Matthew was friendly, fun, and enjoyable to be around. I had Epic Catering cater a baby shower for me at the last minute. They came through without fail. Chef Matt's food was delicious and the service was outstanding. I picked up the appetizers and platters from his store front in Santa Rosa. Having Epic Catering cater my event gave me peace of mind, as I can not cook to save my life. Just hosted, on short notice, a "Celebration of Life" for my brother, who worked for years in the food industry.  A big majority of our guests were food industry professionals.
