What do you love most about your job?
The best part is seeing how happy our clients' pets are when they see us. The non-stop meowing and wiggly butts from the pups make our days all the better. When you love animals and care for them, work doesn't really seem like work!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Imari’s love for animals started during her childhood where she dreamt of becoming a Veterinarian. Throughout her high school years she volunteered at Oakland’s SPCA which furthered her love for animals and led her to enroll in a vet tech program. In 2013, she worked as a Kennel supervisor at a day care and boarding facility for a little over a year before leaving to starting her vet tech program. After 4 internships and 1 externship at pet hospitals, in 2016, she graduated and officially became an animal nurse. While in vet tech school, she started dog walking and pet sitting and valued this intimate, happy time she was spending with animals. This inspired her to go to business school at California State University, East Bay where she received a Bachelors degree in Business Marketing and started her first business, Elite Pet Society. You wouldn’t trust your child with just anyone, the same goes for your pet. Imari prides herself on being responsible, communicative, and punctual. She also prides herself in the relationships and bonds she has with her clients and pets in her care. She has a sixth sense for anticipating your pet’s needs and has learned to correct unwanted behaviors in animals. If your pet needs to take insulin shots, medication, or requires any special attention, Imari has the knowledge and dedication to care for your little one. Her background in vet tech coupled with her love for animals makes her the best equipped person to care for your pet.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All employees wear masks, have hand sanitizer/wipes, and are tested regularly. We also have some clients that do hand offs at the door to avoid employees going inside the house.
Private Walks
Our private walks are flexible and are perfect for slower/senior dogs, reactive dogs, nervous nellies and dogs that rather spend their walks with humans than other 4-legged friends. These walks are also great even for fearful or "not-so-sure" dogs who need positive reinforcement on walks to gain enough confidence to be ready for pack walks in the future. During our time, we can also add enrichment play such as fetch, if requested. If you have a puppy who can't go on walks yet, don't worry! We can use the time for puppy playtime and cuddles as well!
Pack Adventures
Our pack adventures are offered Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Pups are away from their home for about 2-3 hours (depending on pickup/drop off routes) with at least 1 hr of that time spent on our adventure! We give your pup the opportunity to let their natural instincts run wild by safely exploring and playing with no more than 6 of their fur friends (groups arranged based on personalities and energy/play styles). With this level of exercise and mental stimulation, your dog will return back home happy and tired. On our adventures, high quality treats are given and we do a lot of practice with recall. We can promise you that your pup will be looking forward to another fun adventure with us!
Drop-in Pet Sitting
Our drop-in pet sits are perfect for pets who may not require as much attention or care like our overnight buddies. You can opt to do as many drop-in visits as you'd like with the time frames of 30 minutes and 60 minutes. If you need more time, feel free to let us know and we would be happy to accommodate you. During the time spent in your home, your pet(s) will receive all the care and attention they need. Whether they just need someone to leave food out or they need cuddles and pets-galore, we've got it covered!
Overnight Pet Sitting
ur overnight pet sits are perfect for pets who need more care and attention than what our drop-ins offer. With endless cuddles and quality time, overnights help your pet(s) feel more comfortable at home while you are away. It isn't uncommon for your fur babies to be stressed when you leave, especially if they are used to someone always being there, so let us help! By allowing them to stay home, stress can be drastically reduced, which results in a happier pet! Oh, and let's not forget your stress! With our presence in your home, there is a sense of extra security. Let's not forget to mention all the cute pictures & videos you will receive! (A huge client favorite!)
