Ed Ball Landscape Architecture

My wife and I met Ed at a Home and Garden trade show in Chantilly, Virginia in Fall 2017. We have been thinking about replacing our deck and updating the landscaping in our backyard for a number of years and we met many landscapers and designers over that time. We asked Ed to tell us about his service and after a several minutes of discussing our project and Ed describing his initial thoughts, we set up our first appointment with Ed to design a detailed project estimate along with diagrams. During the first appointment to review his plans and cost estimates, my wife and I knew immediately that we found the right person to trust with our vision! Throughout the project planning and execution phases, Ed was very patient with us in talking through all of the fine details we wanted in our backyard. He provided us real solutions to our drainage problems, increased the usable space, versatility of our backyard, and improved the lighting (which was basically non-existent). Ed’s recommendations for materials and color schemes supported our vision for entertaining and blended perfectly with the environment. Ed kept us informed at every step of the way and was very accessible to address our questions or concerns throughout the project. His team was on schedule the entire time in spite of a few days of winter weather. We never once had to wonder where the crew was or when we would see them again. Ed is a highly professional and detail oriented individual who tightly managed each step along the way. We had hardscaping done in the back of the house and work was done beautifully. Our experience with Ed was great from the first phone call requesting a meeting to discuss the front Yard design of our new home to the completion of the project. Going into our project, my Wife and I had different ideas of how we wanted our hard scaping to look. Ed was able to take both of our ideas and create the amazing look for our home! We started with a basic sketch of what we had in mind and the results were even better than what we had envisioned. My wife and I hired Ed for a complete transformation of our new home's back yard. We had discussed and planned a large deck, hardscape, landscape and a pool.
Ed was very open to a concept that took into account our goals as well as his creative eye. The result was a beautiful plan for our backyard that we were excited to have built for our family. Unfortunately, we were relocated to another state prior to starting the building process and had to put a stop on the next phase.

I hired Ed Ball and Exquisite Exteriors for a landscaping project that included substantial regrading, new beds, boulder steps and pathway, a new flagstone patio with a stone firepit, a deck addition, lighting and irrigation, in addition to new trees, shrubs, perennials, and sod. Ed and I met countless times to plan various aspects of the project and he was on site to supervise the work. Ed Ball designed and installed the landscaping in our front yard three years ago and we loved the results - Ed created the curb appeal that put the finishing touches on our new home. This past Summer, we again hired Ed to create our back-yard design. Living in Arlington, VA, our lot is small - so Ed had to create a feeling a space and privacy within a small footprint. The results are amazing - we have instant privacy through mature trees brought in from Georgia, we installed a built-in grilling area in a previously unused section of the yard and we created a larger area to eat and relax in.

I had the pleasure to work with Mr Ed Ball of Exquisite Exteriors, LLC on a magnificent custom residential project located in Lyford Cay, Nassau, Bahamas. His company had coordinated payment, maritime transport and execution of roughly 30,000 sqft of a custom handmade barrel clay tile roofing product we manufacture. Mr Ball has an acute attention to detail, very easy to get along with and is a great problem solver.
