Ebb and Flow Photography

Sharlean’s awesome! She was sooo helpful from the very beginning. We were unsure of our wedding date at first but she was so flexible and accommodating. We met in person for the first time during our engagement photoshoot but it wasn’t awkward at all because Sharlean is so so friendly and we have been texting so much hashing out plans until then! She is also super intentional about the engagement photoshoot as really tries to get to know you before your big day. She agreed to have it at this beach that meant a lot to us even though it was a bit of a trek and we had so much fun. She had so many creative ideas for poses and she made it so comfortable, we laughed throughout the whole session! She edited and got the pictures to us super quickly, within a week, and even involved us in the editing process, sending us samples and asking our preferences. Same with our wedding! She even threw in a super good deal for a video last minute! On our wedding day, Sharlean got there promptly and shot everything we wanted from getting ready, to our sparkler exit, with the most upbeat attitude and contagious laughter all throughout the day, even picking up our coodinator’s slack. Our coordinator was nowhere to be seen when it was time for the sparklers and Sharlean stepped in to organize everyone for the sparkler exit. She truly cares about the couples she works with and 10/10 would recommend her to anyone, for her photography skills, attitude, flexibility, personality, just everything! More...

Sharlean was absolutely wonderful! She had such great ideas and had a really great eye for unique shots at our wedding venue and engagement photos. I remember I was a little worried about there not being enough natural light on our engagement photos and she was very calming and explained that it was perfect conditions. Sharlean did a photo session with my family and I for my mom's 80th birthday. I was able to communicate with her through text which was SO convenient. She was warm and friendly from the very first communication. She made everything so easy and I loved how transparent her services were. There weren't any hidden fees like I found with other photographers. Right before our photo session I informed Sharlean that my mom couldn't walk on the beach for our session like we had originally planned. Sharlean found a new place to take pictures right next to the beach so we had it in the background but we weren't on the actual sand. This was all last minute and she was just so incredibly flexible and resourceful. Fast forward to the actual session, she charmed all of my family, not an easy feat. She had the kids eating out of her hands, literally with her gummy bears. She managed to get the older boys who were too cool to smile to pose with minimal grumbles. I can't say enough about how flexible and wonderful she was. I couldn't imagine how she was going to top that but she sent the photos to us so quickly and they were stunning. Her editing is flawless and she has such an amazing eye for colors and poses. I can't recommend her enough. I'd use her for every major life event that needed photography if I lived in the area. Ebb and Flow Photography was absolutely incredible from start to finish. I couldn't have dreamed up a better team to be there for my fiance's homecoming. They were such troopers and so flexible. Communication was amazing (Sharlene check in with me almost each day leading up to the day to make sure the time/date didn't change, which they often do). I didn't know exactly what time he would be back, but they came early and waited with me so they could be there for the moment (which was nearly 3 hours of working in the COLD). The photos that were produced were PERFECT. On top of all of this, Sharlene (even though by the time she got home it was super late) sent me a few photos that night so I could share with family and friends the good news. Sharlean is amazing! We did an enagagement shoot with her which allowed us to get to know her. Her ideas were interesting and my husband and I had so much fun during the shoot. On our wedding day, she and her assistant were punctual and enthusiastic. They got all the pictures we wanted and more. As someone who is completely against any PDA, Sharlean made us feel so comfortable during our photoshoots. Although our poses were staged, Sharlean somehow made them feel natural and fun. She brought props to our shoot that really made our pictures stand out. Sharlean is just a great person all around and I would not think twice about booking her again and/or recommending her to any and all of our friends or family members. We had only spoken and texted a few times before our shoot but once we met in person it felt as though we had known her our entire life. She is so bubbly and engaging and makes it so easy to feel comfortable around her. We may have looked like the silliest people on the beach that day but Sharlean constantly reassured us, telling us how great we looked and how much she loved the shots. And she is truly at the top of the photography game because our pictures were absolutely stunning. I have fallen in love over and over again with all of the pictures she took. I could genuinely go on and on about how great Sharlean is but you should just book her and find out for yourselves because you will not regret a single penny! More...

Sharlean is very flexible and professional. We went to a friend's wedding last June and we were impressed with how many beautiful pictures she took. .. My husband took her business card I called her and explained our budget...A month later we were working with her.
As long as you know what you want, make sure to share it with your photographer and she will take care of the rest.

Sharlean was INCREDIBLE! 5 stars for the following areas:* quality -- Look at her website for examples, but know that yours could turn out even better! * easy to work with -- My husband and I aren't super comfortable in front of the camera, but she totally set us at ease and made it fun. She was also professional and flexible when it came to setting up our session and very open to ideas on poses, props and location. But for us amateurs, she did a good job of telling us how to pose since we needed a lot of guidance!* fun props - the old-fashioned sofa is so fun...what a cool bonus most photographers don't offer!* PRICE -- My advice is to book Ebb & Flow asap, because her prices are bound to go up. She's way below market price for what you get (1+ session, great editing and ALL the images...not just 5 or 10 like many photographers)...all for $150! Not only is that great for Southern California, but even inexpensive for the midwest where I'm from. * timely - I'm sure this isn't always the case, but she had our edited, finished images to us less than 12 hours after our session. She stayed up all night editing! Even if that was an anomaly, she said she always returns images pretty quickly, and I believe it! The industry standard seems to be months or worse, so this is a big selling point if you need your pictures asap. (Or if you're just eager like most people to see them.)* You can tell Sharlean is passionate about photography and people. She seemed to genuinely enjoy what she does. More...

Sharlean was the photographer at our wedding back in the March (sorry, this review is long overdue!).  At the wedding itself she took absolutely beautiful pictures, of which she did an awesome job editing a very large portion of all those raw photos.  She's very responsive to any questions/ concerns (both before and after the wedding) and has an enthusiasm, passion, and positive attitude that suits her quite well as a photographer (and probably in life).  Additionally, she was more than happy to do a "test-shoot" so that we could see if we liked her style prior to our wedding; both at the test shoot and wedding she made us feel very comfortable with her direction (posing, setting up shots, etc).  She is professional, very friendly, affordable, and does excellent photographic work!  Thank you very much for helping capture our special day!! Sharlean was a true gift! I have been to many weddings and I have never seen a photographer work this hard. My daughters wedding was at Los Willows Wedding Estate which has a lake in the middle and the couple takes a short boat ride after the ceremony. Sharlean did laps around the lake to get the perfect pictures of them on the water. Every moment that we wanted to remember she captured. I plan on using her again for my other daughters wedding.
