East Bay Dog Service has helped us raise our puppies.  They have taken our dogs for a walk every (week)day of the first year of their lives.  They taught them how to tolerate a collar, then a harness, then a leash, then being walked on the leash, and then incrementally being walked with other dogs until they could walk with the pack.  It was a slow gentle process.  Dominique and Huey have a ridiculously lovely relationship with our dogs.  They are thoughtful, sweet people who are great at letting you know if there are any concerns about your dog (or your house.  Dominque turned off the stove top I had left on!).Billing is easy and done through a simple app. In addition to daily walking, our pups boarded with Dominique and Huey.  I was away for a couple weekends and then, last summer, for a whole week.  It was so nice to be able to go away and know that our dogs were happy and safe with Dominique and Huey! East Bay Dog Service is wonderful. Dominique and Hughey are very friendly, trust worthy and great with dogs. My Golden is a little crazy, very hyper and excited, very not good on a leash, and Dominique worked with me and my dog to find the right harness/collar. Although I only used this service for a short time I could already see a difference in my dogs behavior, and on top of that she had an exciting day out with her new friends/pack. 10/10 would recommend. The pack walk with East Bay Dog Service has been wonderful for my dog Steve and for me. Dominique and Huey do such a good job -- Steve comes home happy and exhausted. They are also terrific about communication and flexible when something comes up. I highly recommend them! More...

Dominque and Hugh are amazing! They are so loving, caring, and professional! We had them as our dog walkers for several years until we moved out of the area. They were incredibly flexible and loving with our anxious dog.  They are awesome people and if we still lived nearby, we would definitely still be using their services.  We knew that when our dog was with them, she was safe and happy.  Any dog owner would be lucky to secure a spot for their dog in East Bay Dog Service's pack! Our dog Banksy is pretty skittish and I was very nervous when I brought him for the first time to be introduced to the other dogs in Huey and Dominique's pack. They, however, wasted no time in explaining to me how they were going to make the introduction and made me feel completely comfortable with the interaction before it took place. Before Banksy saw the other dogs they brought over a few of their pack to get to know Banksy. Banksy had time to get used to being around other dogs. By the time he was introduced to the rest of the pack he was not skittish or barking. Huey and Dominique knew exactly what they were doing and had clearly a ton of experience with different types of dogs. They were also extremely professional and friendly which made me and Banksy feel right at home. Having all of these qualities is rare with other dog walking services. It also feels great to be supporting a local small business! I highly recommend them. More...

Our dog has been so happy since she started walking with Dominique, Hugh, and all the other dogs in her little pack. One day I was home from work when they came and my dog ran out as soon as I opened the door, ran across the yard wagging her tail like crazy and hopped into the van, super-psyched to see her buddies. We've boarded her a few times on vacations and it was like a vacation for her, too. It's hard to find a good dog walker, and in my experience these guys are the best. Very organized and friendly, they are also good at dealing with people (which doesn't always seem to be the case in this business). We're thankful to have found them and I don't think it's an exaggeration to say our ten year-old dog has shed a few years since she started walking with them last Year. More...

I was nervous about not being find anyone to walk my dog when I moved to El Cerrito from Oakland. Luckily, our old walker enthusiastically recommended Dominique & Hugh of East Bay Dog Service. They came to our house to meet with Apple and quickly assured us he would be a great addition to the pack! Apple's a little guy (less than 8 pounds) so the group walk is the perfect amount of activity for him. Dominique was so sweet to assure me that she attaches him to her belt so the other big dogs don't pull him faster than he can go. I know his walks are the highlight of his day and knowing he gets out reliably 3x/week gives me peach of mind. Dominique is so easy to communicate with and when changes to his normal schedule arise, they are always accommodated. Thank you Dominique & Hugh! More...

Dominique and Hugh are the best. They're professional, reliable, easy to get in touch with, and fantastic with dogs. Everything from the initial meeting to see how our pup would do with their own dog and the rest of the pack has been smooth and easy. It's great knowing that Whiskey gets to be out of the house around a great crew, and comes home happy and tired every day. Finding good, consistent dog walkers that we could count on had been such a chore when we moved out to the area, and we could not be any happier now that we finally found East Bay Dog Service! My dog has been part of Dom and Huey's pack for awhile now - I can't believe I haven't given them a shout out on Yelp yet. . I wasn't sure how it would go with a dog walker. My dog isn't crazy about other dogs. Doesn't want to play. Afraid of, and aggressive towards bigger dogs. At 12 pounds ,that's pretty much all dogs. Dom and Huey came over to meet him and assess how he would fit in. They were certain they could easily integrate him into their pack. They definitely made an effort to ensure he felt comfortable with them and with the other dogs. Fast forward a couple of years and my dog is calmer and much more at ease with dogs in general. My dog loves Dom and Huey. He's always so happy to see Dom when she comes to the door to get him.  He always comes back from his walk happy and exhausted. The types of walk vary between leashed and off-leash and they have an arrangement so they have a dog park all to themselves a couple of times/week. This makes me really happy because of my dog's history of unpredictability around dogs he doesn't know. Communication with them is professional, easy, quick and clear.  Whenever I have a question or need to check their schedule, I hear back from them right away. I board my dog with them when I travel and they keep me posted on how he's doing (including texting me photos). I love that I can check their Facebook page to see what the dogs are up to during the day.  And when I expressed some concern about the increase in my dog barking at other dogs on the street, they said they noticed it too and talked to me about how we could address the behavior together.I really couldn't be happier with them, and neither could my dog. My family moved to smaller place. Our puppy Baby no longer had no room to run or play outside. I started looking where to take Baby and I was drawn by all the positive reviews and feedback from East Bay Dog Service. I immediately contact Dominique and Huey. They were super-fast at getting back to me. Answered their phone right away and responded to my text within hours. Because of their wonderful spirit, great energy and efficiency I decided to bring Baby to them. Within few weeks I could already see a change in Baby. She was more alive and healthier. I am extremely impressed with the work East Bay Dog Service is doing. If you are looking for a genuine and candid team you have no place to go, I give my highest recommendation to them. Moreover, I needed to travel for work and I asked Dominique if she could help me find a temporary home for Baby. She was so engaged to helping me find a home. She reached out to her contacts and literally within 1 hours we had found Baby a temporary home. Thank you so much for all you do guys! More...

Dominique and Huey of East Bay Dog Service have been walking my puppy Holly everyday for the almost a month now and I can't say enough how great they are. They came to my home to meet with my and my puppy to assess if she would be a good fit with them. They took her on a walk, gave me an estimate on the services and pretty much put me at ease right away. I'm a first time puppy owner so they gave me a lot of tips and guidance, too. On multiple occasions, Dominique has give me advice on how to train my puppy, came over to give me leash walking tips and given me progress reports. Overall, they are just great to work with. They also provide day care service, and Holly is with them at least twice a week. She gets plenty of exercise when she's with them and is a tired pup when she gets home. It feels like I have a personal puppy nanny! (Like today, I asked last minute if they I could have Holly with them for daycare and they were super accommodating.) I also love that they post regularly on their Facebook page and I can see videos and pictures of Holly when I'm at work. Yay! Btw, Holly now knows how to "laydown" and "shake" thanks to Dominique. :-) More...

East Bay Dog Service was recommended to me by Holistic Hound of Berkeley and they have been walking my dog Zeus for over 4 months. Since day 1, they have been amazing! From the moment we met Dominique and Huey,  they were professional and honest. First, they set up an official consult where they came to my home to meet Zeus. They answered all of my questions within their presentation of how they operate their business. It was clear they were an open book and only have the best interest of the dogs under their care. When Zeus joined the group walk, I could immediately tell he was 10x happier than before. His anxiety is almost nonexistent, He doesn't chew up my phone chargers anymore (and everyone knows that's a WIN!) & he isn't uncomfortable from "holding it" when I get home because he's already been relieved and has had a day of his own. Aside from the logistics,  they offer a Facebook page where I can see what my puppy is up to while I'm at work. This gives me additional confidence because I can see my happy pup With all of his new friends! There is no question that they're going above and beyond my expectations of dog care. I highly recommend them for anyone that wants a dog walker who treats your pet as their own! More...

My dogs should be writing this, but keyboards aren't designed for paws so I have to do it.  My handsome hubby just had a knee replaced, so we needed a dogwalker.  It was our (and dogs') great good luck to find Dominique.  She and her partner have been walking  Samba and Cosmo daily for several weeks.  The walks  often go on much longer than the hour we contracted for.  Dogs come back tired and ecstatic,  content to  flop on the couch and watch tv or think great thoughts. Ten minutes or so before Dominique arrives, Cosmo jumps on a window seat, and waits for her, tail wagging .  Samba likes to play it cool, but his pacing by the front door gives him away.  If they could hold up a great big red heart saying "I love you Dominique," I'm sure they would.  Arrgh, the paw problem again.Hubby's knee is healing nicely but  we've decided to have Dominique continue with dog walking.  Samba and Cosmo wouldn't have it otherwise. Dominique was referred to me by a friend.  I work full time and it's not at a desk job.  I was complaining to my friend  about the guilt I had around being too tired to take my boys out on walks.  Yes I love my dogs, and they love me too...I just didn't have the energy to get them out and exercise them.  It wasn't a good feeling, me guilty and them bored.  Tired of our unhappiness, I reached out for help.  I guess it's been about 5 months now since I first met with Dominique.  She came to my home with Hughey.  They did a free consultation with me and my boys.  We visited for about 30 minutes.  I showed them the commands they know, they can do sit, stay and will stop before crossing the street, nothing fancy and definitely not reoccurring 100%...they like to show off, so we spent some time outside letting them play and horse around.  I showed them what harnesses I use and where I keep em.  Then it was time for Dominique and Hughey to take them out.  I was a little nervous.  My boys are big, and I know how they behave for me, but I was worried about how they'd act with other being in charge.  So I waited, and yea I fretted a little.  About 40 minutes later they returned, happy and safe.  My jaw about hit the floor when my dogs actually sat to let Hughey and Dominique take off their harnesses.  When we sat down to talk business my heart warmed when my dogs layed down at hughey's feet.  It was the sign I was waiting for that these two were gonna work out for us.  We started out doing bi-weekly visits, the first couple of weeks I was around to help acclimate them coming into my home.  My dogs are a little protective over the house, that went away after the second visit where they entered without knocking and just used the key.  I was surprised that the second time my boys totally knew who it was, and were off the hook excited.  LOL nothing like 200 lbs of excited dogs bouncing off the walls when you have no idea why they're so excited!  My dogs are socialized and it was pretty quick that they got used to the other dog they share their walk with.  After about a month I upped the visits to 3x a week.  I wasn't just seeing a lack of boredom in my boys, they were behaving better.  About a month and a half ago I relocated to Concord.  Not wanting to change what my dogs had become accustomed to I started dropping them off for boarding while I'm at work.  It's not as often as it used to be, but I manage at least one day a week if not more.  They work with my schedule as my days and times vary, and I'm really grateful that I'm still able to give this gift to my boys.  It really makes their lives more full, and it's relieving to see them happy.I'd like to give a special thanks to Dominique, Hughey and Emi.  You've really made a big difference in my boys lives, and I'm so thankful for the service you provide!
