Headshot Photographers

Dominique was very professional and a joy to work with. He was very different in that he took the time to break down his photography process. If it was an outside scene, he went to check out the scene to see what would be the best area he could capture the right lighting, the right angles. He was very responsive to emails and texts. He listened to my wants and needs. He even asked for me to send pictures I likes of myself so he could get a feel for what I was looking for. Just know you will never go wrong with Dominique Palombo Photography! More...

Q&As

When I shoot someone, empathy is the real secret to taking a great photograph.

Obviously, vision, skills and experience are huge factors, but having a true connection with my subject is crucial.

Empathy creates the invisible dialog that bonds us, and helps me sense the quality and amount of guidance and encouragement my subject needs.

Fear is natural in front of a camera, and my goal is to replace that with a sense of discovery and joy by taking this journey as one.

Once I know the basic parameters and goals, I'll be able to give guidance on the best approach.

If there are specific requests for an image look, of a type of background or lighting wanted, then seeing some visual samples would be preferable to make sure I have the clearest idea possible.

Generally, I'm drawn to good images the way I imagine a musician is drawn to music.

When I create an image that moves me it is always deeply fulfilling.

The quest can be humbling, but you never get tired of chasing it.

It gave me the freedom and autonomy to discover what I was meant to do.

First, my work should be the main reason someone would want to work with me. It should impress, and if it falls short, then the rest shouldn't matter.

Second, I offer a level of taste, skills and experience that is built on working for many years for major international luxury, fashion and lifestyle clients in Paris, NYC and now Los Angeles.

Third, I'm committed to listening and guiding whoever I work with, in the most understanding and least intimidating way possible. Being nice and accessible is the most important part of my work ethic.
