I have to say,if it wasn't for Jonnie ,the only person, out of numerous animal so-called resource personnel, including Mission Viejo shelter and Animal control, the abandoned Maine Coon mix cat found on my doorstep, after a horrible rain and windstorm, scared to move, with no food, shelter,or love, would have been dead by now. SHE was the only person, willing to assist me,in getting this beautiful, sweet cat to safety. And for that,I am eternally grateful.Raine,a sweet, loving 3 yr old male Maine Coon mix,is now loved and being fostered,by her caring ,professional staff. He will soon be up for adoption,so please adopt from this unbelievable rescue, and give RAINE a chance for a  loving, kind, patient owner and a FOREVER home.Jonnie, owner, really walks the talk, and treats each animal,as it is her own.The staff is outstanding. She to me is the real hero,in this review.Never a hesitation to help Raine stay alive....ADOPT DREAM RESCUE...We thank you..Kathi L and Raine More...

we love dream animal rescue. We got our little tux kitty Sophia Maria Elana Christina (aka Sophie) Her name was Firefly when we adopted her. But we liked Sophia much better. We know why they called her Firefly. She loves the heat. She is such a sweetie so smart, loves to cuddle and talk and play. Sophie was just the kitty we were looking for. It was LOVE at first sight. and Jonnie signed us up came to the house to make sure it was safe for our new baby. A wonderful experience was had by all. Sophie was at home the minute she arrived.
Hope all goes well for your organization. We miss the kitties at Petco. Hope you come back soon.
Sharon and Bill and Sophie too

DREAM Animal Rescue is nothing short of an incredibly caring and professional group of people who clearly care deeply about helping animals find forever homes. My boyfriend and I were so happy to find a great match for our home with the measured, yet playful Jackie. From our first meeting  with Jackie to home inspection to adoption day and beyond, the DREAM team has shown great care for Jackie and us as well. We are so happy to have found our new family member and are so thankful to DREAM for all the work they do. More...

We adopted our first kitty from DREAM back in July 2017.  I had emailed Jonnie on a Friday evening inquiring about Catalina who I found listed on PetFinder and also the DREAM Animal Rescue web site.  I heard back from Jonnie first thing Saturday morning, and she directed us to the application on the web site.  Shortly after completing the application, she put us in touch with Jodi who was the foster mom for Catalina.I contacted Jodi and setup a time later that morning to come and meet Catalina at her home.  During that meeting, we knew we wanted to give Catalina her forever home.  Naturally, once a decision like that is made, we wanted to get her as soon as possible.  Jodi kindly carved out some time on her busy Saturday to drive to our house to do the home inspection.  Thankfully all was good, and she was able to leave Catalina with us.There are a few things that impressed us the most about DREAM.  First, we were impressed by the application process and required home visit to ensure the kitty would be placed in a good home.  We were also greatly impressed and grateful for Jonnie and Jodi's responsiveness to our inquiries, and Jodi's flexibility to expedite the process for us.  The one biggest takeaway was that DREAM Animal Rescue greatly cares about the kitties that they rescue.  The story doesn't stop there though.  This past January, we adopted two more DREAM kitties, Cassidy and Shauna, a mother-daughter pair of calicos.   And I'm sure we'll be adopting from DREAM again! DREAM is an amazing team of caring individuals who are focused on saving animals and matching them with loving, caring forever homes.  They take vetting seriously to ensure that the animals they place are well matched with their adopters so both will be happy.  This involves spending time with the animals to understand the environment that would suit them best, and then doing diligence on the adopters to find the best pet for them and their situation.  Concern for the animal's well being is always the top concern and it shows.  The great thing about this approach is that when you adopt from them you know what you are getting and know that they would not place an animal with you that would not be a good fit.  Could not recommend this rescue more highly. I walked into Petco to look at fish... I ended up falling in love with a DREAM kitty, named Puddy! The whole process took about a week. My husband & I filled out an application online & scheduled our in-home inspection. Upon passing the home inspection, Puddy would be ours THAT night!! Prior to the home inspection, Jonnie e-mailed me with a window of time she would be at Petco to clean the cattery, if I wanted to officially "meet" Puddy. He was such a lovebug!! It completely broke my heart to think someone could have abandoned him!Our adoption fee -- WHICH IS COMPLETELY TAX DEDUCTIBLE, was only $150, merely pennies compared to the thousands of dollars this animal rescue had spent on surgery for Puddy's eye!! Almost 4 years later, Puddy is thriving and the absolute King of our Home! They offer a discount if you adopt two kitties, which is $250 for both, (save $50 dollars). They have adoption events which is a great way to meet the kitty of your dreams! They rescue these kitties, cats, and dogs from terrible situations to find them the best possible homes. Prior to my wonderful experience with DREAM, I was not aware of how important it is to adopt, not shop! For any negative reviews regarding e-mails back or fees, I would just like to say: Please remember that this Animal Rescue is a non-profit & survives solely based on Volunteers (which they are always looking for!) If you're not hearing back from Jonnie or other volunteers, be persistent. Prior to Puddy's adoption, Jonnie told me in the past, she had many people seem interested in him, but never follow through! (GOOD NEWS FOR ME!)I feel like I owe so much to DREAM! I have such an amazing kitty, who was given so much love by his fosters & rescuers before his adoption into our family. I refer everyone I know looking for an animal to DREAM Animal Rescue. More...

I can attest that Jonnie Ben and her organization are the best around! She is so fully committed to the cats under her wing. She leaves no stone unturned in her quest to find the perfect home. The countless hours loving & socializing the cats, holding events, making sure all medical needs are met, networking to helps cats in need, assisting adopters, fundraising to help special needs kittens & cats, helping fellow rescuers with cats & networking...this is a small snapshot of her dedication to improving the lives of Felines. Dream Animal Rescue is the place to get your new kitty. We love the fact that they act professionally to take the time to ensure that you are right for the cat and that the cat is right for you. This level of consideration may be off putting to some who just want an animal immediately, but I believe this is the right way to do business and I think this shows that they really care for their rescues. I have supported DREAM for several years.  They are professional, through and caring, and they make sure every animal is placed into the best possible home.  They do much more than many rescues, to make this happen.  To those of you on here that lost your beloved cat or kitten to FIP, please do some research.  This disease cannot be detected until it is full blown.  It is random, and incurable.  DREAM would never adopt out a cat, intentionally knowing it had a fatal disease.  I lost a (non-DREAM) cat who contracted FIP, and it was the most devastating thing; absolutely heartbreaking, but there was no blame.  My heartfelt condolences to those of you who also had to watch their babies die of it.  But, it is not DREAM's fault.I will continue to support them, as much as I can.  you can rest assured that DREAM does all they can to make sure their rescues are healthy, fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. Please don't forget that these people are volunteers, working full-time jobs, spending much of their own money (much more than the adoption fee), and do this because they love the animals, and want this world to be a better place.I wanted to include a before and after photo of a cat the DREAM helped me save, and I was then able to adopt in a great home, but can't figure out how to post the pics. It was a little over a year and a half ago when I met the nice folks at DREAM.  At that time I was homeless and about to become an unwed teen mother.  They took me in and gave me and my babies a safe place.  They taught me to share and get along with other animals because at first I had a very sassy attitude.  After I weened my babies they helped me find a woman of my very own.  They had the woman apply for my guardianship and even went to her house to make sure it was up to my standards.  Although I settled right in it was apparent to the woman those first few weeks that I missed my foster people.  Many a night I would roam the house and cry for them.   The woman felt so bad (and sleep deprived) that she started letting me sleep in her bed at night to keep me calm.  That helped me a lot.   And the woman too, because she could get a full night's sleep again.  The woman still tells me stories about my foster people and how much they loved me and how much they must miss me.  And how they did not abandon me, they just kept me safe until I could find my woman.  Which is all true because I am adorable.  It's been a pretty big year for me; I reluctantly dressed up for Halloween, I celebrated my first Catmas wearing a reindeer antler hat, and the woman even got me a party dress for my birthday.  In July we celebrated our one year cativersary.    The woman still posts updates to DREAM every now and then, and even they are surprised at how much I've changed.  The cat they knew would have scratched out eyes at the thought of wearing a dress.  In some ways I'm still the same sassy cat they pulled from Downey.  I still want to scratch out the woman's eyes when she tries to put clothes on me.  But then I think 'just play along for the poor simple creature's amusement, she'll go to sleep soon and then I can smother her with my fur... I mean snuggle close to her'. More...

Thanks to these wonderful humans who volunteer their time (and money) to save animals in need.   As to the few negative posts which include the whiner who gave a post dated check and the person whose cat had FIV - FIV is not something that humans can control.   For those of you and everyone else, what do you do with your free time and money?   Volunteer and/or donate to this cause rather than sitting on your couch and whining about those who do.   I have visited the Petco stores where the kitties are kept.   The cages are VERY clean, the cats seem very comfortable and these wonderful people need our/your help.   If YOU don't help, who will. Upon reading the 2 poor reviews below, it is important for me to post my own review of a very thorough and responsible rescue.  Having personal experience with DREAM and many other animal rescues, I know first hand of the quality care provided to all animals that come into this rescues hands.  Their founder and volunteers work as an extremely streamlined and dedicated group of individuals that have these primary goals ~ To save the lives of the abandoned, to get them healthy and to find loving, forever homes for them.  DREAM does this by practicing some of the most respected rescue and adoption protocols in the industry.  They provide all medical, they do not adopt out underage animals, they ensure that all animals are spayed or neutered, they require a thorough adoption application, they do trial periods, they charge an adoption fee that is in line with standard adoption fees out there (Even though it doesn't cover what it costs them to vet the animals they have chosen to try and assist), they do homechecks, they will always find a way to take any animals that they have adopted out back into their rescue should the need arise and they support other rescuers at great times of need.Addressing both negative reviews below, it is with extreme sadness that FIP is one of those killers in cats that no one has any control over.  A vet can not fix it, no one can predict it's onset and it is one of the most heart wrenching medical situations that occur in our feline population.  Saying that, I would like to express my heart felt apologies to both of you for losing your adopted furries to this terrible virus.  I am certain that you contacted the rescue and that you were advised that your kitty could be taken to the rescue's vet.  I have no doubt about that.  It is important for you, as adopters, to know that DREAM works with some incredible veterinarians and that a rescue can provide medical if their protocols, agreements and contracts are followed.  With FIP, I do not foresee any other outcome occurring than what did occur with regards to these babies.  It is understandable that you would go to the ends of the Earth to try and save life and, for that, you are highly commended.  A rescue couldn't ask for better or more loving adopters.  With that being said, the primary ailment that is of issue in the poor reviews are not due to this rescue being not up to par.  The primary issue is one that is out of all of our control, one that we all feel stress and grieve over and, for that, I am sorry for your experience. I will close with giving my utmost respect to Dream Animal Rescue for being one of the finest rescues out there.  Saving life and giving it their all 24/7/365.  Keep up the FANTASTIC work.  You truly are making Dreams come true one (or maybe two) furries at a time.  :) More...
