Sean was the upmost professional, we really enjoyed working with him. He was the DJ for our ceremony which then continued to our reception, which he also MCed and did a fantastic job! He suggested up lightning he has, which was the perfect complement to our venue. The signature logo he made for us was such a special touch! We had the best dance party, it felt like we were in our college days again, which was exactly what we wanted! Months after our wedding, I met up with my girlfriends for brunch and they were still talking about the music and how much fun they had dancing, they were laughing recalling how much fun they had, it was a wedding highlight for everyone! DJ Stepchild was professional, responsive, and punctual. He came early and had everything set up and ready to go. During our search for DJs, we had read several bad reviews about other DJs where they double booked or showed up late and that was a concern for us. However this was not the case for Sean. He was always the one to reach out first to ask us what we wanted and what our expectations were. It was not stressful to work with him at all. On a busy wedding day, it was nice to know that we did not have to worry about music. And finally, his music choice was great! We didn’t have to “lure” people to the dance floor. Everyone was out of their seat and showing off their moves. It was a blast to have DJ Stepchild perform at our reception and we would definitely recommend him to our closest friends and family. Oh my where can I start, I got help from start to finish, he helped us with song choices. Working with Sean was amazing, he made things easy and laid back (which you definitely can use.)
While planning for the wedding Sean was very detailed and accommodating with what both my husband and I wanted.
He provided great suggestions, and even offered help with other aspects of the wedding. Any ideas he had he made sure to run by us, to make sure we were comfortable with everything. He was also very communicative during the wedding, and went with the flow when things were changed through out the evening.
The music he played through the evening definitely kept me moving, and he had a great variety of music. Me and my girls had a great time dancing to some of our favorite throw backs. Sean has a great energetic personality, which makes him perfect to be a DJ.
My family and I all agree we would hire him again if we ever need a DJ.

He did my wedding 01/24/2021
It was my first wedding so I was a little(a lot actually) confused with the order of songs etc.
He sent me a packet in the mail to fill out and at that time I didn't know the differences between ceremony and reception, the order of bridal party and such.
So I filled them out to the best of my ability. He then zoomed me and explained. I still couldnt decide on music. My wife and I have too completely different likes of music.
I asked him to help me and left a lot of it up to him after giving him a list of different songs.
I would of never imagined a wedding put together musicly better than what he came up with. It was so incredible the music he chose that I had not given him any choices for that I was told it was one of the best weddings people have every been to.
Chris Anderson of the Sarasota herald tribune attended my wedding as a friend and those were his exact words.
I told him that compilation was not mine. Sean, DJ step-child did that.
I did shop around a bit as price is important. He was very reasonable and he also did beautiful purplish uplighting for an additional fee that really was the bowtie on the tuxedo.

We booked Sean right after our first conversation. You can tell he is a genuine, kind, and helpful person right away. He always kept us updated with what he was doing, gave us suggestions, asked us questions, and made sure we had zero concerns.
He is extremely accommodating. We were too far from each other to meet, so we zoom called and texted often. He reached out to the venue coordinator to make sure everyone was on the same page, and even she mentioned to me that we chose a great DJ!
The lighting was immaculate, amazing, stupendous, and every other synonym of the word. Our venue had extremely large top to bottom windows on almost every wall, so when the sun set the lights washed over the room like a dream.
The music was bumping when it needed to be and calm/romantic at all the perfect moments. He pronounced everyone’s name right, he announced all of the important moments, he even cracked jokes, it was really the best best best night, and Sean did that!!
We also asked for the “Dancing on a Cloud” for our first dance shown in the picture (very worth it). He even turned it on for the little kids to play in which was very kind of him.
Overall, DJ Stepchild made our wedding a huge party, and made every step along the way very easy. He is extremely affordable, a kind and hardworking person, and will bring a super fun and positive energy to any event.

DJ Sean aka Speak In The Mic recently Zoom DJ’d my Sorority’s 40th chapter reunion. His music was awesome !! He kept us moving and dancing and his music selections appealed to both the young and older members. His on air look and genuine friendliness made our event even more spectacular . Our sorority colors are pink and green, and he took the time to decorate his set and background with creative lighting all in pink and green. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Read the crowd and drop hit after hit keeping the energy moving up! Its more important to play the hits people didn't know they wanted to hear as opposed to playing what they expect first.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Flexible! I’ve covered frat parties, Top 40, pop and hip hop nightclubs, weddings, edm/trap/house showcases, sports venues and more! My style is a unique blend of all the above with over 18 years of quality mic skills to support!
What do you love most about your job?
Music heals, soothes, and lets people escape whatever they have going on outside that venue. I love the moment when I drop a track that people don’t expect and the crowd goes crazy!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’m a military veteran that found something outside of the service that I’m good at. When I was in my early 20s I used to throw house parties. I was unaware of anything other than that people were coming from hours away to attend my events. Now that I’ve gained wisdom I’ve put a business structure around what I do so that no matter if I’m the event vocal talent, DJ or both, the client gets a professional and personable experience.
Why should our clients choose you?
I’m not a cookie cutter DJ that gives every event the same feel. As my client, not only do you actually get ME when hired, but when you provide me the direction you want for your wedding/event I spend weeks preparing a custom event that is just for you. I have yet to do the same show twice because every experience I bring is a one of a kind party!
