Working with DJ Shazam was one of our best decisions for our wedding. He brought great energy to our event, fostering a fun and upbeat environment for us and our guests. It rained all day during our wedding, but everyone was in high spirits and had a great time, which was in no small part due to the atmosphere created by Adam. Leading up to the event, he worked closely with us to tailor a playlist for the whole day using a simple, user-friendly app. Whether we gave him specific songs to play or just a general idea (for us, it was “Millennial Hits”), Adam was always at the top of his game and crafted the perfect vibes for each portion of our wedding. He came through above and beyond - the app he uses for us to choose and schedule our music was easy and intuitive. He helped do some custom mixes for our first dance and ceremony with no problem. We had the absolute pleasure of having Adam host our wedding at the Sequoia Retreat Center. Even days/weeks after the event, we’re having guests tell us how amazing the DJ was and how much fun they had on the dancefloor. We first got to chat with Adam a few weeks before our ceremony and had a blast running through our ceremony timeline, geeking out about our favorite dance songs, and getting to know one another. Come day of, everything could not have gone more smoothly. Adam knows exactly how long to let songs go for, be it during the ceremony, dinner, first dances, or on the dancefloor. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
The secret recipe begins with a big ole' cup of understanding the energy and preferred music styles of my clients and the crowd, followed by a teaspoon of requests, and then add a dash of mic interaction to spice it up here and there.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Upbeat, positive, and professional. As MC, I speak just the right amount to bring the energy up and direct it towards the next big activity, like the Grand Intro or First Dance. As DJ, I like to start off the night with either some older songs or family-friendly pop, then move on to more modern, edgy, high-energy music guided by the clients requests discussed in advance.
What do you love most about your job?
In general, I love seeing how people light up when they hear music they love and weren't expecting, and the collective positive energy that feeds into the environment. It gives a sense of human connection on a large scale that is rare. It's like magic.
Specifically with weddings, I get to be in an environment where everyone is happy to be with each other. I've never found anything like it in my life, and I get to experience that every weekend. Again, it's magical!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Well, a few things.
(1) DJing is my purpose. It's my unique skill and gift that allows me to inspire positive connection through music & experiences people love.
(2) DJing gives me professional joy that remains unmatched because I can see the joy in others during my sets.
(3) Seeing other DJ's across the United States developing their styles and brands

So far, all DJ/MC services are in person. Consultations are mostly remote since COVID hit in 2020, but I am open to meeting in person!
As of Jan 2023, I have not performed a private livestream online or in the Metaverse, and I am open to experiment :)
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I am fully vaccinated and will wear a mask upon request. During the heavy COVID years of 2020 and 2021, I wore a mask for every event and wiped down the microphone after every toast.
