When Morgen reached out to me asking if I would do a shoot with her she has wanted to make come to life for a long time, I was hesitant. I did a family session with Morgen last year so my hesitation was not due to her lack of talent. I know how incredible she is and I know her beach sessions always look like they came straight off a page of a magazine. My hesitation came from a place of insecurity. You see, when she asked, she asked me by sending a picture of a wardrobe she had put together that was beach casual - shorts, tanks, and swim suits, AND the shoot was only 5 days away. GULP. Everything about this shoot was out of my comfort zone. 1. I hate myself in shorts. 2. I am extremely self conscious in a swimsuit. I feel awkward when there aren't lasting memories of it and now I am going to put one on for photos that will be forever documented -Egads. 3. Never in a million years did I imagine doing a family session in extremely casual clothes. I usually plan for these thigs for a month to try and look as put together as possible, not like we've spent a day at the beach - which we in fact did before these pictures. 4. I do not love the water. I love to look the water from a far but water and I are not friends. I do not like to get into water and I absolutely hate water in my face. Despite my hesitation, I agreed. You see, I know Morgen's work is great and I thought "why not". The worst that could happen would be I would hate them. Let me tell you, that did NOT happen. Not only did I not hate them, I absolutely loved them. Morgen is nothing short of a magician. Her talent speaks for itself in these photos. She took a family that spent the day at the beach, only to run home for less than hour to freshen up and change real quick, and made us look like we prepared for this shoot in great detail. My insecurities are decades deep but once we got on that beach with her, they all disappeared. Morgen makes you feel home. She makes you feel calm. She makes things fun and makes all of those feelings wash away just as the ocean waves crash on the shore. When I received the gallery of our photos, my jaw dropped. I know she is good at what she does and the beach is her happy place - it is where she really shines. But WOW. How did she turn that evening, and that casual of a wardrobe and setting into something that good??? Every image tells a story, a story of us. A story of our little family. Many are breathtaking and magical. Some made me cringe when I first saw them because of the ridiculous faces I make. But as time passed, I thought to myself, these are the pictures my boys will remember and smile biggest from when I am gone. These are the pictures that (unfortunately) express who I really am - goofy, free spirited, not a huge fan of water touching me, and an awful dancer who doesn't care and still continues to dance no matter how bad it is. These are the pictures that will make them say "THAT is my mom". Every bit of our family shines through in these pictures. The silly. The love. The fun. I can easily say this is my favorite family session. It was unlike anything I know and apparently that's what was needed. I guess just being you turns out to be the best thing. If you are hesitant to do family pictures because of insecurities, be like Elsa and let it go. Do them. Trust me. Trust Morgen's talent and make memories for you, your family, and your friends. I cannot say enough great things about Morgen! We picked her Bundle of Joy package which included Maternity and Newborn photos. After sending an inquiry she immediately called me (a personal touch that sealed the deal for me) and we chatted about what we were hoping for in our photos, her photo style, and what to expect day-of. She was flexible and easy to work with when I needed to change our date because my dress didn't arrive in time (oops) and then the location originally selected didn't work out. It could have turned into a stressful photoshoot, but she was so professional and made it fun! Fast forward a few weeks and it was time for our newborn photoshoot. Again, due to illness, we needed to reschedule. Morgen is a saint- so patient with us! She brought all the accessories to make for the cutest newborn photos and even a dress for me from the client closet! It was such a relief to not have to worry about what the baby was going to need and what I was going to wear, especially as a new tired mom. The photos from both sessions are beautiful! She captured our family so well and I'm grateful to have these precious memories immortalized. There are so many beautiful photos, I am having a hard time picking out just a few to print. On top of it all, we received a hand written note, treats for our dogs, and a personalized engraved box containing our photos on a USB. I mean, seriously! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! First things first if your considering Morgen just stop now and book her ! You won't regret it. From the time I was looking for a photographer to the time I received my gallery I couldn't of been happier with Morgen. She is so easy to talk to asks lots of questions to get to know you and the vibe you're looking for. I felt like we were friends by the end of our shoot. She called me before I booked her and helped me decide on which package to do and so much more! She is SO good with babies she got my little guy all swaddled up and to stop fussing for us during our shoot, a natural with him! Besides how awesome she is her photos are phenomenal! She just kills it! The angles, the color, and getting all the details! She really is amazing. I am happy to say I will be working with her again some day soon when we're ready to shoot again!Thank you Morgen for capturing my family so perfectly and giving us pictures of our little guy to have forever ! I am over the moon in love with these pictures. Morgen is magic. I was super nervous and apprehensive about this photo shoot since my daughter is 18 months and I never know how the day would go with her haha. Morgen was very relaxing and easygoing and set my crazy neurotic mind at ease. Sure, my daughter had moments where she was super cranky, but Morgen just went with the flow.
