Danielle is a wonderful instructor! I've thoroughly enjoyed her classes and I'm starting to develop a need/love for my Yoga time!

Q&As

I started this type of work through my own journey, struggle, and self discovery. I am open about my journey because I know that connection and vulnerability are extremely important in the human experience as well as in the healing process.

I am studying psychology to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been involved in the field of psychology for awhile, specializing with eating disorders with a background in somatic and mind/body psychology. I am also a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance which has deepened my spiritual practices, intuitions and knowledge allowing me to offer spiritual guidance. I am certified through The Eating Disorder Intuitive Therapy program and have taken courses through Eat, Breathe, Thrive and Inhale to Exhale a trauma informed yoga program.

Yes, I do offer services remotely. Sessions consist of talking through current struggles, finding what is getting in the way of you embodying what you want and action planning with accountability. FOr eating disorder clients specifically sessions often include meal support as well. Therefore this can be done remotely over Zoom. Additionally, if you are in the Ventura, CA area and would like to participate in in-person work I am available for that as well. With eating disorder clients in particularly, it can be helpful to do in person sessions in order to challenge obstacles such as food shopping, doctors visits, clothing shopping, eating out etc. Accommodations can be made to haven person support for these situations if you are within Ventura or Los Angeles County. Otherwise, together we get creative about how to serve you best remotely.

Due to Covid-19 I see many clients remotely. When seeing clients in person we conduct session outdoors in a nearby park and/or where masks when doing challenges that require going into public places ie. stores.

I am here to support you through all that comes with life. Although times can be tough, I want to hold a space for you to show up as your authentic self, be vulnerable about what’s happening for you and know that it is safe to do so in the space we have together. Through curiosity and comfort I will push you outside your norm to explore new perspectives and alternative coping strategies all the while holding you with support. We are all on our own journeys in this life, but connection to tribe and community, reaching out, and getting your needs met are universally key. As your Life Coach, I am here to hold up the mirror for you, helping you recognize what feels like it is working, what feels authentic and good and help you cope with and navigate what does not. With compassion, I will guide you but I will tell you the hard truths and give you the nudge you may need sometimes to explore, be curious, make commitments and grow!

As someone who has walked through the recovery process I have a level of empathy and understanding that is powerful in this process. During my journey, working with people who had struggled just like I did and seeing them thrive and be recovered gave me hope and guidance. I am here to bring the same sense of hope, motivation and most importantly support to you along your own journey to being recovered. Throughout our coaching sessions we will talk about current struggles and triggers, how to implement coping skills, have meal support where we eat meals together whether virtually or in person, face your triggers like grocery shopping or clothes shopping together, deeply reflect on what is standing between you and recovery and identify what you are recovering to. Yes eating disorders and disordered eating are about the food, but they are not about the food in many ways. There are many underlying feelings that we will touch upon throughout our time together. As a recovered individual, I work with others who are in various phases of recovery to help them face triggers in their daily lives. Recovery coaching should be done in conjunction with therapy. This is so I can help you focus on the action part; the “how” part of recovery. Meanwhile your therapist can be there to help you dig deeply into the “why.”

Eating Disorders are complex and can have you feeling like you are walking on eggshells. You are exactly where you need to be. Together we will explore ways for you to navigate being a support person and how to care for yourself in regard to being in relationship with someone struggling.

Looking at our challenges in life through the lens of the soul can be a powerful force in growth and the widening of perspective. This is the foundation that guides our work together. Whether you are looking to learn and deepen your spiritual practice or you are seeking spiritual guidance in navigating the obstacles in your life, this is the type of coaching for you! Being deeply rooted into spiritual beliefs can be incredibly impactful in finding meaning in life, feeling fulfilled, finding purpose, understanding what is happening around you and developing a sense of self.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

I am here for YOU! Together we will help you develop confidence in yourself on and off your mat!

Asking yourself what does yoga for mental wellness look like and what do you get out of it? Here are some answers!
______________________________________________________
A new relationship with your body!
As you begin to listen to your body, move your body with intention and compassion, and find gratitude, you befriend the body that your eating disorder wanted you to hate. As we care for the body, we develop a positive relationship with it. Yoga even helps diminish body image issues.

A treatment plan unique to YOU
Sessions consist of moving through poses to release emotional energy that gets stuck in the body, mantras geared towards your goals, meditation practices that target specific beliefs and more. The poses we move through will be determined by what is safe for your body.

A better understanding of your body
Most people in the world struggle to connect with and listen to their bodies. Yoga has helped so many individuals begin to simple take notice, and learn the signals their bodies are sending them.

A safe space!
When we come together for a private yoga session we are consciously stepping into a safe, judgement free, authentic space. I have walked the path of recovery myself and I know how hard it can be to be vulnerable in the midst of it all.

Life changing perspective
Yoga practice is has many aspects. We practice yoga on our mats so that we can begin to take the same concepts, focus, and compassion off of our mats and integrated into our lives.
