What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
One might expect some technical response, such as balancing the Exposure Triangle or creating Rembrandt shadows. To me, it’s creating a fun and relaxed environment for my client. I share shots as we good, boosting their confidence. This approach gives us a great opportunity to create an authentic portrait, one that captures the essence of the individual and communicates their personality.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It’s good to know their goal from the session, their ideas and what it is they want to see. 99.9% of us aren’t professional models. Yet, with a bit or relaxation, a dose of confidence and a little coaching, the results can be incredible.
What do you love most about your job?
The creation of something new. A new image that never existed before. A new image that serves a purpose, provides a result and that tells a story.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’m one of those that took a hobby and turned it into my livelihood.
Why should our clients choose you?
There are lots of considerations that come into play when considering who will be your photographer. Quality of work, approach to their work and, of course, the price you pay for these results. Consider them all. In any business, particularly when there is a creative component in play, comparisons are subjective. There will always be a more artistic photographer, someone more creative in their lighting or composition. Again, great photos, great service and great pricing is what I deliver.

Photography is a personal, sometimes a very up-close and personal service.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I wear a mask when it’s requested. I’m typically working in the client’s environment though. Whether it’s their home or office or outside.
