I love this place! The brisket was amazing the customer service is above and beyond. They were out of sparkling wine but they went to the store to buy some to please us as customers. Since moving to the Nashville area about 2 years ago, my husband and I have been on a mission to try ALL the BBQ. I'm not sure why it took us so long to find this place. ..I'm sad it did...but glad we found it. My parents are visiting from NE and have sampled BBQ across the Midwest..we all agreed this place has the best ribs. Perfect in every category...flavor, texture, and consistency from rib to rib. Staff was very friendly and the owner offered us some tips on selecting meat for home BBQ. Alright y'all! It's been awhile since I've been somewhere new. If you have ever read any of my previous post, you know I only do praise reports. Charcoal Cowboys is really good. I was a little suspicious about coming here at first because of its location. It is on the good side of town (closer or Nolensville). That is not a bad thing. It's just that most BBQ spots that are really good are off in the cut. So yes some bias was was already put in place. So here is my test for ribs: 1) Does it pull easy from the bone? 2) Do I need to put sauce on the ribs? 3) Is the sauce good? 3) Do I need floss after eating the ribs?Well it did pull very easy from the bone. No, I did not need the sauce but sauces they have available are very good. Floss? For what? Lol. I ordered the Cowboy Beans and Mac n Cheese for my sides. The Cowboy Beans were very good and you should order it with your meal. You better not leave without trying it!!! The Mac n Cheese was not my mom's but it is very good for a restaurant style.I actually just ordered a small order of brisket and pulled pork to go. I'll let you know about it later. This restaurant is good. I wish I would have stopped awhile ago. Their BBQ has received a perfect score at the Music City BBQ Festival, Sam's Club National BBQ Tour, and the Americana BBQ festival. Whenever you get the chance to meet the owner of a restaurant, take notes!!!It affords many opportunities to find out many things beyond just the food. I got this opportunity when I checked in to Charcoal Cowboys in Brentwood, Tennessee. Southern hospitality was spilling  through the door soon as me and my husband walked through the door. We were greeted , helped to a table and offered a drink, even though we were placing a carryout order. So many choices from the meat to the sides. Now some test the pulled pork, me, I test everybodys wings. I decided on a pound of smoked wings, and because I wasn't sure about what I wanted for sides, the owner gave me a sample of the greens and the green beans.  Surprised that the greens featured no meat, that's right, no fatback or turkey wing, they were full of flavor. The secret being the ponzu sauce and garlic, onion, etc in them. They are a must!!! In addition the green beans, which feature rotel were also good. My husband had some tender ribs, green beans and potato salad. The total before tip was about 32.00, and that's only because I upgraded the size of my greens. Oh and if you are going to try a sauce, the hot and BlackBerry are delish!!  Before leaving we found out that they do alot to help the less fortunate throughout the year. And that was an added check in my book. My girlfriend and I went here for lunch today, and it was awesome! The atmosphere is very modern and clean. Â We ordered the brisket platter, it comes with two sides; we had the backed Mac and cheese and the tangy corn pea mixture. Â And both were very yummy! Â We also ordered a 1/4 pound for the pulled pork and it was very moist and tender. The service was excellent our waitress brought over all five of the sauces that they make in house, and she gave a very in depth description of all of the sauces. Best brisket outside of Texas! We love coming in because everything is delicious. The mac and cheese is the bomb. The owners are also usually there and make a point to stop and chat with us. We tried the pulled pork (delicious), mac n cheese (wonderful), collard greens (amazing), brisket (outstanding). Only reason for four stars is the table wasn't clean when we sat down and our server did NOT have her hair pulled back. Â We could see her flipping it with her hands in the food area. I tried Charcoal Cowboys today for the first time. I ordered a pound of brisket. It is excellent! Tender and with a great smoke flavor. I got to try all their 5 BBQ sauces and they are all good. I think I liked the Red Sauce the best. I had the cowboy beans and the potato salad. The beans were a good mix of about five beans. Good and hearty. Really good local BBQ place. The ribs weren't as smokey as I like and they are wet so it has more of a sauce flavor, but both meats were very tender and the ribs cooked perfectly. Stopped in here with our family and this place will not disappoint. Great portions and the BBQ is fantastic. We are BBQ fanatics and they do it all right here. Best brisket ever!!!! The most moist BBQ Pulled pork we have ever experienced. Kenny and Bama have created  a great fun atmosphere everyone can enjoy. The bar upstairs with Hockey Foosball is fun for all. Little delayed in the review here, but true greatness deserves a mention. I brought up to roomates recently that we needed another BBQ restaurant in Lennox Village as those to the North and South of the area just dont do it for me. Came across Chracoal Cowboys on Postmates to find places in the area and made a visit. BBQ was needed for some LA friends as this is a must when visiting Nashville. Let's make all the rounds as this was what we did tableside and at a low cost/person in the long run. The BBQ was better than I expected. It's the most basic of dishes at these joints but above the average Nashville place for sure. Â I'd even return just for it. The brisket was less impressive, but I'm a brisket snob and the table gave it some rave reviews. Let's focus on the ribs though. WOW! Its like I had a porkchop on there for a few of them and cant say enough. The array of sauces complimented nicely in addition. All sides added value on top of the meats. Almost ordered some mac n cheese for the house. Â Was also pleasantly surprised to get some insights from the owner on a Sunday afternoon after the process and smoking sessions. Our group got the brisket, pork ribs, smoked wings, jalapeno & cheddar Mikeska sausage, and smoked quarter chicken. Everything was amazing, among our favorites were the brisket, the sausage and the ribs. Great service. Great sides as well - we got the potato salad, corn & pea salad, and coleslaw. We ordered delivery from Charcoal Cowboys for the first time tonight. Great experience. I really appreciated that the containers are all recyclables. Moving on to the food, we ordered ribs, brisket and chicken wings. High marks for all the meat. The ribs slid off the bone, the brisket was just as tender, the chicken was smoked perfectly -- a little peppery for the kiddos but once we removed the skin they devoured the wings. I loved that they included an assortment of their sauces. The pea and corn salad was my favorite side. The mac and cheese was middle of the road and the green beans were unique with some kind of tomatoes cooked in, not my favorite style no give points for originality even if it's not my favorite way to prepared green beans. We moved to Nashville about 5 months ago. We have been searching for good BBQ, but to no avail. We finally found it! This place has a nice neighborhood feel. There is a good selection of BBQ items from which to choose. We chose the beef brisket platter. The meat was lean, tender, moist, and delicious. We ordered another 1/2 pound afterward because it was so good. They bring 5 different homemade BBQ sauces to the table. We liked the blueberry sauce and also the Nashville hot chicken sauce. Both have a nice kick, but not overwhelming.We also had the potato salad the the corn/pea salad. Both were very good, but especially the corn/pea salad. It is a unique blend of corn, peas, onions, celery, and other vegetables with a tangy vinegar-like dressing. It was delicious. The prices were very reasonable. The service was provided by Olivia. She was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the service and also talking to her. The owner, Ken Wood, also stopped by the table and chatted for a few minutes. This place is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious! My husband and I came here for lunch one day and fell in love! The pulled pork has such great flavor you don't even need BBQ sauce, but they have a vast variety of BBQ sauces that add even more of their own touch! We stopped in today for lunch and really enjoyed everything about this place. Speedy, clean, great service, friendly staff and most of all amazing food. We tried A little bit of everything. This smoked wings are awesome! Juicy and flavorful are the definition of these beautiful wings. The corn salad is so refreshing and light. The vinegar dressing goes very well with this heavy meal. There are so many sauce to try. I like the Nashville hot chicken bbq sauce the most but the combination of Nashville hot chicken, Blackberry and red sauce are outrageous! The food was absolutely amazing. The owner was very accommodating and explained the way he cooks it and how he wants the meat to be very flavorful and the sauces be very delicate.
