What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Great communication! The photographer needs to understand what the client wants from the photo but the client also needs to trust the photographer's skills and experience and follow the directions they're given.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are you looking for from these photos? Is there anything particular you want to include in the photos? How would you like to receive the finished photos (wall art, albums, digital images, etc.)?
What do you love most about your job?
What I love the most is seeing the grin on my client's face when they see their finished photos for the first time. Second to that is working on creative portraits and really letting my imagination run wild (within the guidelines my client gave me).
What inspired you to start your own business?
Lol, the need to pay some bills. I had been in IT for 20+ years and was on the verge of being burnt out when I was caught in a round of lay offs when the company I worked for failed to meet their quarterly earnings goals. Needing some income but not really wanting to go back to IT, I started my photography business.

Remote photoshoots are only available for product photography. To clarify, a remote client will ship the product(s) to me and the client and I will communicate via email, chat and video conference.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Generally speaking, all photoshoots take place with a "safe" distance between myself and the client. I will wear a mask upon request. All surfaces and props the client may touch are cleaned both before and after the session.

Model Education
Thinking about becoming a model? Maybe you've done some modeling in the past and need a refresher? I offer a 2-hour Crash course, an 8-hour Introductory course and a 40-hour Comprehensive course. Topics that may be covered are: Preparing for a session; how to stay safe; what's appropriate and what's not; contracts, releases and other legal things; posing; what to do with your hands; and many more. The Introductory and Comprehensive courses both include photo sessions to help you gain practical experience and become more comfortable in front of the camera, as well as an image review so we can break down what looks great and what could use improvement.
Boudoir
Operating under the brand name Corsets & Lace, I'm thrilled to offer Boudoir and other genres of Intimate Photography to interested clients. I offer multiple options for session locations, a choice of two looks: "bright and flirty" or "dark and seductive", and two different editing styles so we can tailor the final images to meet your personal preferences. I also offer, for an additional fee, the services of a professional Hair and Makeup Artist to ensure you look your absolute best! My price point may be higher than some, but I believe your beautiful images should be collected together in a beautifully crafted album or proudly displayed where you feel most comfortable and not hidden away on your phone.
