We have been seeing Dr. Ted Burghardt at Companion Pet Care since before he even bought the practice over three years ago. We have had surgeries with him and normal check ups. He has always been very thorough, and never rushes us through our appointment. Dr. Ted doesn't recommend unnecessary procedures and his prices are comparable (or less) for the area. Dr. Ted has a calming and very kind demeanor and most importantly, our two male pugs adore him and his staff. One of our dogs can be quite skittish, but is calm and happy during his veterinarian visits. He cares about his patients and provides their owners with plenty of information about the pet’s condition and treatment options so you can make informed decisions. And his fees are very reasonable. I Luuuuuuuv these guys! They are always SO kind to my pets, very welcoming and helpful. I know they are genuinely concerned about their well-being. ....as an example....i had to sedate my dog before a procedure, I gave him too much (oops...) and of course he collapsed in the lobby, well....Dr. B came out and scooped him up and handled it! Dr. Ted Burghardt, the front office staff (we met several over a 2 day period) and the Vet tech, Glenn are simply wonderful. We have an older fearful dog and have been to MANY vets over the years. The office worked us in over lunch after we described our problem pup and his pain problem. Dr. B was thorough and gentle and with Glenn was able to handle and administer meds where other vets have failed and/or refused to deal with our dog. Glenn called to check in the evening after the appointment. After a follow up appt (again, worked in last minute) our old pup is doing much better. My wife and I were looking to have our corgi's teeth cleaned and we were referred to Dr. Burghardt by a friend. Dr. Burghardt and his staff took exceptional care of our dog and were very pleasant to work with. Everything from check-in to dismissal was handled with care and our corgi's teeth came out clean as can be. We also had a few extractions and they were taken out with great care. Companion Pet Care always puts in that extra effort that makes such a big difference. A visit to the vet usually means I am desperate. I'm scared. I'm on edge. My dog is uncomfortable. Yet, I'm met with a smile at the front desk, their calm voices help both my dog and myself. We are always taken into a room right away. It gives us a place to gather ourselves before the visit. The visit is not rushed, I'm able to absorb the info and apply what I learn once we get home. (Or like my last visit, the copy of some helpful instructions came to my email before I even realized I had left without it.) They think of everything. Have always had a good experience with this office. The staff is really friendly. The vet is knowledgeable. What I really appreciate is they don't try to guilt you into over paying for unnecessary services. I've been to other vets that order all kinds of tests, and imaging and want you to spend thousands on a visit and then make you feel like an awful person if you can't afford it. This vet does a hands on exam. Asks questions. Prescribes meds when needed or makes sounds suggestions. Then checks back to see how things are. He escalates care if more treatment is needed. It seems like a sound approach. Both times my pets were better with his first suggestions and medications and we didn't need to do the other testing or treatments. I think its better for the animals to have less treatment, less needles stick, less radiation etc if those procedures aren't really needed. More...

Dr. Ted is incredibly caring and thorough. My 12 year old golden lost 20lbs in only a few months and I feared the worst. He reassured me that there were other issues that could cause the weight loss and after testing it was discovered she has IBD. To begin with, Dr. Ted Burghart is the best most caring veterinarian we have ever known. We had three geriatric cats who had a lot of health issues. One of our cats recently passed away and Dr. Ted was there for us all the way. Now we are preparing to travel with one of our cats to Hawaii. I want to thank this fantastic team for taking care of our retired service dog Landon for so many years. Dr. B and all of the staff have been beyond supportive of all of his needs, from allergies to weight issues and more, all the way until his last day. Putting a dog down is not something that is easy, and this staff went above and beyond for our baby boy during a very difficult time. They made us feel like family with cheeseburgers and a beautiful outdoor garden to use to say goodbye. This veterinary team is special - so very special. I have been bringing my animals to this hospital for many years. I started with Dr. Soifer, possibly the kindest vet ever. When Dr Soifer retired he left his practice in great hands. dr. Burkhardt has big shoes to fill after Dr Soifer and Dr Nancy Bushnell of Companion Pet Care, and is doing great!!!!Dr. Ted Burkhardt is a brilliant vet, he continues to learn new and exciting medical treatments designed to give animals enhanced quality lives. He also has assisted in keeping my many adopted pack members healthy with nutrition and exercise recommendations for my assorted breeds during their yearly check ups. He also has a big, kind heart, and possesses a gentle demeanor with animals that promotes trust and lessens anxiety for the pet. He is dedicated to each of his animal patients.Dr. Meghan Fowler works here one day per week doing acupuncture. She has kept my older guy Henry the golden happy and mobile. Dr. Fowler is a brainiac, and an expert in her field. Henry the dog seems to be wild about Dr Fowler as he hurries toward the acupuncture room and wiggles from head to toe with joy when he sees her. He feels so good after treatment, it's like a spa experience, and he falls asleep during treatment. My dog went from being barely able to move to taking little walks and patiently playing tea party with a 6 year old granddaughter. Amazing! So, with caring, capable nursing staff who definitely love animals and care for the clients... and the super educated and caring Drs, I highly recommend this vet practice!!!!!!!I am very animal centric, know my stuff as a former vet tech (a lifetime ago) and I continue to be impressed by the positive direction of this growing practice and the forward thinking cutting edge care my beloved animals are getting here!
