I offer fully customized fitness programs to a wide variety of clients of different fitness levels ranging from competitive athletes and martial artists to those with fitness goals such as weight loss and total body transformation.
In addition to my background as a certified personal trainer, my 16 year involvement in coaching and practicing martial arts including jiu jitsu and kickboxing enables me to design your program to include many unique and challenging elements to complement traditional strength training and cardiovascular exercises. I create a safe, welcoming, and challenging environment for clients to push their limits and realize new levels of fitness faster than they ever thought possible. Individualized programs may include combinations of the following elements depending on your goals and objectives:

Body weight exercises
Interval and HIIT
Plyometric and explosive routines
Full body and multiplanar movements
Core stability exercises
Joint stability, flexibility, and balance drills

Hi, Francine,
I would like to compliment my fitness trainer, Chris, at the Midlothian AmFam. Until I met and worked with Chris, I did not hold fitness trainers in high regard. I do medical massage and the majority of my clients are folks who have been injured because of their fitness trainer.
Chris is so totally different. First of all, he listens. He asks questions. Then, he listens some more. He is respectful. He respects the intelligence of his clients and he respects that we may not know how to achieve our goals. Chris never comes from a place of ego when working with his clients and he is never patronizing.
My personal experience with him has been a joy! Even at our first meeting when I kept on listing past injuries, my health issues, etc, Chris was not deterred. He is so knowledgeable in his field he is able to think on the fly and always gives me an excellent, balanced workout. His love of what he does is very apparent and he is dedicated to giving each of his clients a safe, fun and beneficial workout. His understanding of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology along with his thorough understanding of the equipment really allows him to put together just the right workout. Chris always allows me to set the tone of my workout, yet, he does not let me coast. He works very hard putting together my weekly workout and he expects me to work equally as hard at it. He (and I ) knows this is the only way to success.
So, what really sets Chris apart form the others? Again, Chris keeps his ego on a short leash. He has NEVER pushed me. In fact, he does not allow me to push myself! Which I do often. Not because of my ego, but, because the move just feels so yummy good! How’s that for unique! Most trainers push clients, I know. I’ve seen the results. He doesn’t try to impress with his knowledge and big words. He speaks plainly and in words even a novice can grasp and understand. Its obvious he wants to be there. It’s obvious he wants to make a difference. I can sense his desire to help folks achieve great physical health and fitness. Chris is a young man of integrity and high personal values. He values his reputation and possess much self respect. His interpersonal skills are excellent and his sense of humor is funny and sweet and yet he remains always very respectful. Chris brings his humanity to his job and he understands that all of us have weaknesses and with gentle encouragement we can overcome, we can soar.
I am coming to the end of my workouts with Chris. But it is temporary. I will be back. He is MY trainer, he is my friend. I cannot walk this journey alone. I need his encouragement and my workout thrives on his enthusiasm and my efforts.

Hi Francine,
I wanted to take a few moments of your time to talk to you about Chris Leet. I've been working with Chris since January and I never thought I would enjoy working with a trainer. I teach health and physical education and have an extensive knowledge of anatomy and fitness so trainers always seemed pointless. I only met with Chris originally because it was a free program Am Fam offered and I'm very thankful that was the case because working with Chris has been eye opening.
I have worked with various trainers over the years who never fulfill their promises. They often lack basic anatomical knowledge and prescribe exercises that I know aren't appropriate for my needs. Chris on the other hand has more knowledge than any trainer I've ever worked with. He comes prepared to our sessions, tracks data on all activities I perform, and references that data in future workouts. If I come in to the gym on my own time, I can walk over to him, check to see what my last weight or rep count was, and he knows it, always. He is always conscious of my goals and provides workouts to help me achieve them. I also love that he pushes me to better myself. He sends workouts to do when we're not in session to help maintain progress towards my goals and he checks in often.
In addition to the time he takes to address my personal needs, he's created our own little community within the gym. He has introduced me to members with similar goals or who have similar ability levels and it really makes the gym feel like a home. Any time I walk in, I now have staff and other members who say hello and that is a huge motivation to keep coming back. I never would have met those other members without Chris.
I had initially only signed up for three months with him just to have a trial. Like I mentioned before, I really didn't think I needed a trainer, but man was I wrong! He has shown me exercises, fitness plans, and training regiments that I've been able to take back in to my own classroom. He pushes me to be my best and knows exactly what workouts I need to reach my goals. He is also incredibly flexible with my busy teaching and coaching schedule! I will absolutely be re-signing with Chris once my three month enrollment expires. He has truly made an impact on me and my fitness journey and I look forward to continuing my sessions with him!
