I honestly feel bad having to leave a review like this, but: Charlie’s Music was a great store until the younger employees were left to deal with customers. Extremely impersonal, not very much relevant knowledge for the services they offer and just a completely different experience than if you walked in here 5 years ago. More...

I went in here with my boyfriend several weeks ago and the store had a nice supply of just about everything! The salesman who was working was alao extremely pleasant and friendly and was very easy to talk to if we had any questions.

Also posted this on yelp: Better than online shopping. There prices weren't too much different than amazon/guitar center online, and overall they saved me more money than if I purchased online. Very knowledgeable staff, and down to earth honesty about the products. We ordered a spotlight through them, and in the meantime they offered us to use their floor model until it came in...Lucky for me, it came in sooner than they anticipated. I'm happy to find a place like this so local. Highly recommend to anyone on or near Cape Cod. More...

It's been a while since I've been there and it's a great place to hang out whenever you're in the area.

I've been using Charlie's for 3 or 4 years now, when I get up to the Cape for the summer. I usually rent a rig there for the summer and have wound up buying two amps and sending them to Florida. Chip and Randy are friendly, fair and knowledgeable. Look forward to seeing them each year. More...

I am a violin teacher and often recommend students to get there to rent violins from them. Their monthly rate for first three months a violin is really cheap, and it is a good way for new students to find out whether they like learning violin before they commit to buying a violin right away. People in the shop are helpful and friendly. There are a good selection of music books for beginners too. The shop also has a technician to do some easy string instrument simple repair such as changing strings and put the bridge on etc. Charlie's has my recommendation for music book and instrument purchase. I visited Charlie's yesterday. Not so sure what the bad reviews are all about. I just went in for strings and found the salesperson very friendly. The store looked orderly vs what some reviews state. No, it's not Guitar Center, but I don't think I overpaid for Elixir strings. I have honestly gotten "deceived" (for lack of a better word) in trade-in's and purchases at Guitar Center. Plus, it is so noisy from back round music and people showing off their licks that you really can't concentrate on what your buying. I'd go back to Charley's again. I'd be interested in repair and setup reviews for this store more than purchases. Four stars for now. I'll see what happens after future visits. More...
