Charlie provided such an excellent experience from beginning to end. A customized menu with delicious options across all courses, professional yet friendly atmosphere and an unexpected Bloody Mary recipe that I am still dreaming about. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us, Charlie! We hope to have you back again soon! More...

Charlie brings a rare level of thoughtfulness and expertise to his food, making him the best private chef in this area. His food is not just delicious, but each dish highlights the season, region, and/or setting he is brought into. Aside from his culinary skill, Charlie is a wonderful man who brings warmth into the places that he cooks--a valuable trait given the sub-zero temperatures of the Winter Adirondacks where we meet Chef Charlie every year. Charlie has worked with our family to make some really special dinners in our home over the past three years. We have hired him as a private chef for the last three years to cook between 2 and 4 dinners for a group of 10 adults. His dinner have always taken into account the various dietary restrictions of the guests as well as their preferences. He prepares truly elevated cuisine which will remind you of eating in the finest restaurants except in the comfort of your own home. Some of the standouts he has prepared for us in our vacation home in Lake Placid NY include:--Gulf of Maine butter poached lobster risotto--Pan seared McFarland Farms breast of pheasant topped with a wild mushroom, baby leek, & baby spinach duxelle, sauvignon blanc pan jus, green onion polenta, fresh asparagus--Large Gulf of Maine day boat dry scallops, pan seared and topped with a grapefruit & honey bell orange beurre blanc, creamy parsnips, roasted Brussels sprouts with 20 year old aged balsamic drizzle--Large gulf shrimp marinated in extra virgin olive oil, fresh garlic & herbs, crushed red pepper, grilled and tossed with a Mae Ploy glaze--Pan seared Margret breast of duck served with a curry sweet potato & heirloom carrot puree, topped with a whole grain mustard apple cider pan jusCharlie is without a doubt the best private chef working in the regions. We would know as we have hired all the others we could find before settling on just working with Charlie. It is one of the things our family looks forward to most every year. He is the best! More...

Charlie at Chair 6 was hired to cater a small intimate wedding of 14 people and he delivered a fabulous experience. Both Charlie and his assistant for the night were professional and courteous all night, and most importantly the food he prepared was everything we could have asked for. He helped us plan our menu which was seasonal (fall) inspired and allowed us to choose two entrées for meat and fish eaters. Additionally, during the whole planning and organizing process leading up to the event, Charlie was reliable to communicate with over email and phone which helps us feel comforted about our decision to hire him. For anyone looking to hire a personal chef for a special event I would look no further than Chair 6. More...

I had the pleasure of working with Charlie Levitz, Owner and Chef of Chair 6 Catering, and his helper, Annette, at a recent party I hosted for about 20 friends. I shouldn't say I was "working," because Charlie and Annette made me feel like a guest at my own party. Charlie was inspired by the fall, and featured autumnal fruits and vegetables - apples, pumpkins, squash, cider, nuts - paired with tuna, salmon and chicken - for a dinner presentation that was both cozy and elegant. Their presence added warmth to the gathering, and their attention to detail had the party covered from beginning to end. Next time you need help with an event, don't waste a minute; Call Charlie of Chair 6. More...

Six girlfriends and I celebrated a milestone birthday at Chair 6 last Friday evening. Everything was perfect! From the restaurant décor and table settings, to the preparation and presentation of each plate, expertly described by our server-sommelier extraordinaire, Heather, we were consistently blown away. This dinner had been planned for months in advance, based on reviews alone, and our expectations were happily and easily exceeded. Thank you Chair 6 for making a milestone, celebratory weekend that much more memorable! More...

If you are looking for a fine food experience, this is the place!!! The chef obviously puts a lot of care and love into every dish. Only "complaint" is that you may have to wait a while for a dish, but it is well worth the wait. Best in the region. More...

My family and I stayed at the Marriot just a few steps away and felt we may have to walk a lot to get to all of the decent restaurants in town (not a problem really). However, we stumbled on this place and were really surprised at the great food. This town is athletically driven so the food leans toward healthy/ local. This place is no exception. Everything on the short menu is appealing. Yes the restaurant is small, but every place has a size limit. This place has become one of my top five restaurants in Lake Placid/ Keene/ Keene Valley.
