The best, hands down. Professional and fun from start to finish. She is welcoming and bursting with ideas to help you make the best photos possible as if she's known you for years. My 15 year old son had a wonderful and unforgettable photo session with Cathryn and her crew! Cathryn did headshots for my 19 year old daughter. She and amazing make up artist Barbie Laurino took their time and every photo- over500! - came out well. Cathryn was friendly and responsive and made my daughter feel at home. She was easy to book and willing to get my daughter in for the session quickly ( within a week!) which was great as other photographers had a wait of two to three months for headshots. The looks she shot were varied and interesting. It was a great experience and we are extremely happy with the results, which my daughter received quickly after the shoot. I have been wanting to shoot with Cathryn for years! Her images are always striking, professional, and captivating. It had been a decade since my last headshot session, and that brought along lots of worries in regards to not being sure I would still know what I was doing, if I would be comfortable in front of the camera, and whether or not I would like the image that stared back at me when I was done! From the get go, Cathryn made it so easy. Her booking emails are informative, clear, and helpful - she genuinely made me excited for the shoot. On the day of my session with her and Barbie, I was immediately put at ease. The studio space is very comfortable and easy to work in. They made me feel beautiful, energized, and as if I was exhibiting my true self for these photos. I strongly recommend Cathryn for headshots! I loved my session with Cathryn and Barbie! They’re so sweet and friendly and they made me feel really comfortable. Cathryn also took her time so I never felt rushed. Barbie did an amazing job with my hair and makeup. She did a natural look on me, which is how I generally wear my makeup and it was very well done. I got a lot of compliments on how natural and nice my makeup looked. The photos came out so great!!!! I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on them and I used those photos to submit to agencies. Cathryn recently shot my wedding out in Joshua Tree. She was an absolute joy to work with and we are so pleased with the photos. Shooting with Catheryn was my favorite headshot shoot so far. Beautiful space to shoot, fun/creative/productive vibe coming from the staff and the environment. Catheryn made me feel so comfortable and helped me get extra clear on my looks/characters I was shooting for. She helped me get into character by really helpful questions/suggestions while shooting for each character. I had an incredible headshot session with Cathryn. She listened to what I was looking for, set me at ease and directed me with such surety and professionalism that I immediately gave up worrying about how I could make my shots better because I knew she was already taking care of it. She is funny, kind, engaging and instructive. All of this shows in the sheer quality of the pictures I received. She has a lovely home studio in a big, airy house with indoor and outdoor options available and a huge array of backgrounds to shoot in front of. I only wish I'd gone to her sooner. Yesterday I completed my 4th time shooting with Cathryn. With so many choices of photographers for headshots, it's important to know a few things about Cathryn that stand out. 1) She shoots in a way that makes you forget you are doing a shoot. She talks to you and never makes you feel rushed or a number. She takes interest from the moment you walk in the door till you leave. She helps you pick the best choices for the looks you are trying to achieve . Her energy is a calming fun prescense that just allows you to be yourself. 2) She works so fluidly with hair and makeup to make sure you don't have a hair out of place or anything distracting in the shot. 3) The pictures... what you end up is a variety of industry leading photographs that stand out from the pack. The moment I started using her, my auditions more than doubled. One money shot can make or break your auditions opportunities. Why play? Above all I just love how caring she is of he talent and how supportive she is in general. I will continue coming back to Cathryn. The main reason why I'm so happy with Cathryn and am hiring her again is because she takes care of her clients months after the session is over. This is her art too and she wants you to get work, so expect to work during your session while being treated with ultimate kindness and respect. Need to run a few lines or play some music to get into character more? She's got you. Got every look down but one? Just bring clothes and Cathryn will get you that shot. These are just 4 of 1000+ she took in October and I displayed them because each is very different and two are retouched though it's hard to tell. Since that session I was cast in a pilot, two short films, and now I'm making a film. I'm sending the cast to her, especially if they need IMDB photos. Also, if you're new to LA and say you have an emergency and need a chiropractor or doctor after a combat scene, Cathryn will take care of you. Yes, there are plenty of talented photographers in this town of creatives. You have options. It's your career so go for the best. Check out her website and look up her other clients.
