I love the YMCA. They have a great children's room with freeway employees so i can drop my kids off and go work out and know that they are safe.

I love the Carlton Metro:: I have been a member of the Y since 2009 , n I love utilizing my membership : I have visit majority of all the Y's but if I am in the downtown area I normally go to da Carlton: The members as well as the staff's are real friendly and the one thing I love is that you don't have to wait in line to utilize the equipment: Its always plenty more available: Come on down if you are in the downtown area, and I guarantee you that you would luv itl

It's a wonderful facility. It's large, the people are great. The only drawback is the parking. You get an hour free but if you stay long enough to get a good workout you end up paying for parking. The other drawback is the gym is right in the center of of the building with a tall ceiling. When there is a basketball game going on it echos through the whole building and it gets pretty loud. I ended up going to the Monroe branch because of those drawbacks. More...

I've been coming to this Y for many years. Helpful friendly staff. My favorite activities: basketball, swimming, sauna, and hot tub on main floor, track, weights, and Life Fitness on top floor. Lobby with newspaper, coffee, and computers. Parking convenient across street. Free for 90 min, reasonable after that. Great place for a workout- use the pool all the time. Wish the other YMCA's had locker and towel service, as this makes it very convenient to do a workout after work, or to cycle over and avoid the hassles of parking. They do offer a 2 hour ticket for the East End garage-- so if you're just in for a class, it won't cost you to park. Staff is nice-- though a lot of the weekend staff doesn't seem to be well versed on various policies and stuff-- and wish they didn't close earlier on the weekends in summer-- that's exactly when some of us want to use the pool and sauna to top off the end of the day. Still, great place. Been going here several months, still haven't done half of what I could. Great variety for everyone. More...
