I'm a former pet sitting business owner and current neurotic, high-maintenance pet sitting client of Cara's. She is very even-tempered and reliable which are great attributes of a pet sitter. We really appreciated that she sent us our updates consistently every day - I never had to follow up with her to make sure everything was ok at home. A lot of individuals pet sit casually as a "side gig" via certain apps/websites because they love animals and it seems like easy money (IT IS NOT) but they don't take it seriously, are often unreliable, and have no plan in case of emergency. Cara is absolutely amazing! I have 2 cats (who are my babies) and I am so happy that I found Cara to look after them whenever I go out of town. When Cara came over for the initial consultation, my cats went right up to her (which does not happen!). It is obvious that Cara loves animals, and they love her too. She sends updates and pictures of the cats to me - which I love to receive! Booking and paying is super simple with the website, which is also a big plus. Cara has been taking care of our pup for about 4 months now. We sometimes arrange for to care for our kitty as well. From the day that we met her we knew how lucky we were to come across her during our search. She is very sweet and dedicated to her job. Cara is simply amazing. We don't like leaving our cat at home, but since she gets car sick we need to leave her most of the time when we travel. It is such a relief to have a dependable group like CaraCare to take care of her while we are gone (especially since she needs nightly medication). They are very flexible and are always ready to help on short notice. Booking and payment are very easy through their online portal and the pet sitters record daily journals online with pictures (always great to see that your baby is doing OK!). Cara Care is a fantastic pet sitter. We have three cats and have had to frequently leave town (NYC) but we always feel good knowing Cara Care is available. The online site and booking facilities make it easy to setup instructions once and forever and to schedule in advance. It takes awhile to enter the details but you can also export the info which is cool so consider it a vault for your pet info. I appreciate that the Cara team also sends out a daily diary with pictures and updates as well. Seeing daily updates is reassuring. I have used many pet care services over the years and Cara Care has been the absolute best one I have every used! Actually - it's not just a 'service'. Cara is my cats' friend who comes over to care for them every one in a while. It's as if my cats didn't even miss me at all! When I’m gone I know they are very well taken care of. The account setup and service requests are easily done on her website. Their food and litter areas are spotless and the cats are happy. What more can you ask for? The reason I started using her to begin with was that she was the only one who charged a reasonable price to give insulin shots to a diabetic cat. Others charge so much that I don’t know how they even have any clients. But Cara charges a fair price for that and I am TOTALLY satisfied with her and her service. Cara Care is such a life saver! I lived in NYC for the last 2 years and I used Cara Care so many times to watch my cat when I was out of town. I also used Cara Care to check on my apartment when I was out of town and had my cat with me. The online system for making appointments is so simple and efficient; it makes using the service such a painless and wonderful experience. And you can add notes if you think of something you need or if your pet has picked up a new habit - anything! Cara Care is the best and they took the greatest, most attentive care of our cat when she got sick just before we left for an out-of-the-country trip! I first reached out to Cara Care about pet sitting because of their excellent reviews online and now that we've been using Cara's service for more than 6 months, I can't believe it's taken me this long to return the favor by adding my own review--they are spectacular and I don't know what we'd do without them!My fiance and I adopted our cat Quinoa this past fall and we're too nervous to leave her alone unattended when we go away on weekend trips or longer. We have friends and family in the neighborhood but I didn't want to have to rely on them and take advantage of their generosity. I am so, so glad we found Cara Care! No guilt, totally affordable care, incredibly reliable and they send you pictures and notes of your pet while you're away! Their website is very professional and the online scheduling is a breeze and very convenient to use.We have used their service probably a dozen times now and I can't imagine keeping a pet in the city without having Cara Care on back up. As I mentioned, our cat recently fell ill just one day before we left the country and Caraline responded right away to my late night email explaining the situation, assured me that our sitter was in vet school and that Quinoa was in good hands, and even emailed to follow up after we returned. Our cat thankfully recovered quickly but I don't know how we could have enjoyed our trip without the knowledge that she was being so well cared for at home. Its always hard to leave your furbaby when you travel, but even more so when they need medical care. I have a special needs senior kitty who requires daily medication for her heart condition. Not only that, but she is not super enthusiastic about spending time with anyone but my husband and me. Despite these challenges, Cara has provided exceptional care for our little one. She is thorough, reliable, trustworthy, gives us detailed updates with photos every time she visits and takes such wonderful care of our kitty and yet is respectful of her space at the same time. I started using Cara Care last year when my steady pet sitter moved out of NYC. I've had bad experiences in the past - coming home to empty food and water bowls, full litter boxes and anxious unhappy cats - so was a little nervous about using someone new. With Cara Care it turns out that I had absolutely nothing to worry about. The team at Cara Care came by twice a day to feed and take care of my two cats. They sent me daily updates on how they were doing (along with pictures!) and would alert me to any health issues I should be aware of. Now I always come home to find two very happy kitties who were clearly well cared for in my absence - so much so that I wonder if they even know that I'm gone. I could not possibly recommend Cara Care more highly. Cara and her team are incredibly reliable and professional - I've used several different dog walking services in NYC and there's a reason I've stuck with them. My dog is a rescue who tends to be a bit anxious but our walker is really great with him. In fact, our doorman has commented that he's more calm going out with her than with me! I've also used their overnight pet sitting services and again they're reliable and respectful of your home. You also get updates via email, complete with pictures! Cara Brockman and her team at Cara Care NY have done a fantastic job taking care of my pit bull mix, Dixie Belle. When I rescued Dixie at 9 months old, she’d never lived in a real home for any length of time, had no leash manners whatsoever and had quickly developed serious separation anxiety. Cara was instrumental in getting Dixie adjusted to a normal routine, spending time with her each day and working on her leash skills. In just three short months, with a lot of work and attention, Dixie has progressed so much.
