We first came to Canine Academy in January with our 11 month old German Shepard. He was reactive to other dogs, hard to control on a leash, and needing help with obedience. We went to check the facility out and were impressed with the staff, their positive reinforcement training, and the cleanliness of the training center. Atlas, our GSD, needed a couple private lessons to get over his reactivity and since then, has taken group basic and advanced obedience training, passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), CGC Advanced, and CGC Urban tests and is now enrolled in scent work training at Canine Academy. Their training classes cost less than Petsmart and are more comprehensive. They've done a great job training us and our Atlas. We couldn't be happier! More...

I took my 4 month old puppy here for doggy daycare and he seemed to have a really good time. He hasn't been around other dogs before so I was hesitant about how he would do but it looks like he had a blast. He stayed all day and seemed well adjusted to the other 5 dogs that were there. There was plenty of space to run and play and the area looked really great. I hope to keep him there as a regular. More...

I have a VERY active and energetic Boston Terrier, Lucy.  She has been going to Canine Academy for Doggie Daycare twice a week since she was about 6 months old.  Since I work full-time, I was looking for a place to wear her out with fun during the day and get some of her energy out.  Canine Academy was perfect because the play area is HUGE and outside so she can enjoy running and playing chase with the other dogs.  All of the other places I found were indoor and a small room. Lucy needs to run!  She comes home exhausted.  The fact that when we drive up all I have to do is open the door, let her out and she runs as fast as she can to Lisa tells me how much she loves it and how well she is treated by Lisa, Melinda and her dog friends.  When we leave, she stares longingly out the back window as we drive away!I also took her to obedience training on Sunday and Melinda is the BEST!  If you have an energetic dog who loves to play with other dogs, then Canine Academy is the BEST!  Best care, best prices and the most love for dogs that I have ever seen!  Thank you Lisa and Melinda!  Lucy LOVES you! I hired a trainer to help me train and help integrate my new furson Simon into the family. I could not have asked for a better trainer than Melinda Biggs. My little guy really needed one on one attention and a whole lot of patience. We also needed training on how to best be able to help Simon, too. Melinda's patience for Simon was endless and she educated us very well on how to continue his training in between our formal training sessions. My princess America was already trained, but Melinda helped in getting her to accept the new family member and also refined her training as well.  The dogs ADORED Melinda and named her an honorary auntie. I did weekly training sessions for a couple of months in the convenience of our own home, then a few more refresher trainings once a month afterwards and HOLY MOLY it was money very well spent!! My poor little guy Simon had suffered at the hands of an abusive owner before the rescue that ended up bringing him into my life and Melinda was just the right person to help train him using positive reinforcement, clicker training, and her amazing patience. Thank you for making our home run more smoothly, Melinda!!!! It is evident that she truly loves animals (and they adore her right back). If I ever need help in refining training or adding another pup to the family, I know Melinda is the right person for the job. More...

My Lucy loves coming here for daycare twice a week to run off some energy and socialize with her dog friends. I love that she gets to run amd play in the grass and explore the creek. Just good dog fun here! She literally whines and watches out the back window as we drive away after I pick her up because she doesn't want to go home. Thank you for taking such good care of her! Brought my new puppy here for training.  We were enticed by a Groupon and enrolled in classes with no trouble.  The staff was all very friendly and interacted with all the dogs nicely.  Week after week our class size kept dwindling though and became a little less organized.  We did learn a lot of helpful tools for training our dog and it was a great place to meet other dog owners and share advice. Lisa volunteered with a group of at-risk teens I run to train shelter dogs.  She was amazing with them.  She was very creative about motivation, saw the value in every dog (even the hard to train ones! ), and is a very sweet person.  She is a very positive trainer and very friendly and loving with the dogs.  I would totally trust my dogs with her and really like her training philosophies if you're looking for a place to go for training.  Lisa is great!
