It’s in a location where it can thrive and receive great exposure while helping people master or channel controlled techniques.

TL:DR - A fantastic family friendly and all inclusive true martial arts studio that cares deeply about their students and the traditions of Okinawan Karate. Â Classes are great, you learn a lot, and you'll definitely get in shape!I have been practicing martial arts in various styles (Goju, Aikido, Taekwondo, and Krav Maga) for the past 20 years or so and I've never really felt at home and welcome in those dojos. Â That feeling instantly changed when I walked into the door to inquire about Blue Dragon Martial Arts. Â I was greeted kindly and very warmly by Sensei Juan and had a great conversation about what I was looking for, their rich history, and what they could offer. Â While speaking with Sensei Juan I could clearly see they practiced what they preached by observing the kids class in session. Â Great importance was put on harmony, knowledge, respect, self confidence, self defense, and the underlying traditions of pure Okinawan karate-do. Â This approach goes light years above and beyond what my past experiences had been (where I was just a face in the crowd and personal growth was an absolutely foreign concept) and I immediately felt like family and that I belonged. We went over the logistics of what to expect at end of the 6 month introductory period and the price points/contract details which are very favorable just as an fyi...no lock-in here! Â Not once did I feel like I was stuck in a car dealership being sold something. In any event I reported back home and discussed signing up as a couple with my SO. Â We stopped by a few weeks later to introduce her to Sensei Juan and tour the dojo and the vibe was still very much friendly and full of energy as it was the first time. Â We signed up, started our classes a few weeks later due to real life being crazy, and have enjoyed every minute of it and have learned so much. The certified black belt instructors we've trained with are super knowledgeable, helpful, enthusiastic, and bring a lot of energy and fun to the mat. Â They are very passionate about teaching and building a strong foundation, as well as compassionate in understanding not all of us are in terminator shape and they adjust things accordingly while still pushing us to do our best. Â Classes are usually divided with one day being Physical Training (aka conditioning), one day focusing on kata/bunkai/sparring (traditions), and an open mat day to practice whatever we wish and ask any questions/get any pointers.I highly recommend Blue Dragon for yourself and/or your kids...it's a great time in a great place to focus on becoming a better person. Â Plus an awesome bonus is you can say "Hey, I actually train in the style from The Karate Kid...Chojun Miyagi was a real person who founded the school". More...

My son started at Blue Dragon a little over a month ago and LOVES it! It’s a clean, family atmosphere where they instill confidence and discipline. I love the smaller class sizes and the fact that the staff is genuinely concerned about my families wellbeing. My son told me the other day that he will never leave Blue Dragon and I think that he may be right! More...

I'm so glad I found this place!! It has a great class structure (better than other places I've seen). Great place for the kids to learn and build a core foundation in Karate and in growing children into responsible adults. It's soooo nice that they have classes for adults too!! Mr. Harnett is friendly, helpful and it's obviously he loves what he does. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a highly individualized and comfortable environment to practice Okinawan Karate. Instructors are easy going and friendly, take the time to understand your unique needs and physical ability, and tailor the classes to fit you. My son go three times a week and its done wonders for his energy and focus. Mr. and Mrs. Harnett genuinely care and are creating a community that I will always want to be part of. You can see their passion both on and off the floor. Thank you Blue Dragon Martial Arts! More...

I love Blue Dragon. There not just martial arts they are family. I see such confidence, strength and new found courage in my son. He has learn discipline, how to block, defend himself and core values that he learned in the dojo that he can also use in real life. The instructors are amazing and great with all ages. I must add my oldest son is an instructor now. He started when he was 10 years old. I'm proud of both my boys and what blue dragon has done for them. Come check it out. More...
