Had a couples package listed for an hour. We arrived and were greeted once we entered into the gift shop area. Since we were early we got to feed some of the horses with snacks (carrots) until our appointment started. The instructors were very courteous, taught us a few things about horseback riding and let us do our own thing once out in the arena. Definitely recommend as a date night option. One thing that was slightly disconcerting was not receiving a confirmation email once the appointment was booked. I checked both the inbox and spam and it never came through. My daughter is currently a student at BAEC and she loves it!.. she likes so much her teacher, Ms. Holly, she is funny, a great trainer and my daughter has improved so much. . The place is just immaculate, the outdoor areas are beautiful and the horses are loved, well taken care of, perfectly trained and so beautiful.. I truly thank the staff, owner, trainers, and everyone involved here who has always gone above and beyond for my daughter as well as the horses who live here. My daughter, who is 8, has been taking horse riding lessons here since she was 4. She started off taking private lessons, and has since moved on to group lessons.   I have nothing but good things to say about BA Equestrian. All of the instructors have been knowledgeable and helpful. Her current instructor, Miss Ruth, is awesome. I've seen my daughter grow leaps and bounds with her. The center keeps the horses well kept and healthy. I've looked into the cost of keeping a horse there and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend BA Equestrian Center to anyone who is looking to learn to ride horses, especially children. More...

This place is my second home. I'm bullied at school, and the horses are so gentle and sweet, as well as the instructors. If you mess up, they're very understanding and they gently guide you if you need help. I feel so welcome there, something that I've never felt before in any place besides my Mom's house. The horses are clean, the stalls are tidy, everything is neatly organized. The staff is AWESOME, everyone is so sweet. They really make my day; them and the horses. It's extremely therapeutic! When I walk in the barn, I instantly feel better, no matter WHAT kind of day I've had. My daughter had a wonderful 2 days learning the ins and outs of horses. She came home so excited and proud of herself. She has never ridden a horse before, she is extremely afraid of heights and very shy in public settings but the wonderful staff at Bay Area Equestrian Center took such great care of her and really brought her out of her shell. I loved the parent demonstration at the end as well. The best part was getting to see her trot on a horse, weave in and out of cones and play "Simon says" while riding was great. My daughter absolutely loved it as well as I. Even though she's only 6, they paid attention to her in detail and assisted her every step of the way. Her instructor certainly has passion behind what she is doing and it showed while she was assisting my daughter. We have changed our mind in just going every other week to every week. My kids went to a friends birthday party there and they absolutely loved it. Not much you can do about the flies since they have so many horses, but the girls are very patient with the children and really explain to them more then just "here is a horse pet it" cant wait to go back.

My 11 year old daughter currently takes lessons from them. I have loved every instructor and am very satisfied. She gets at least 20 minutes of riding, if not the full 30, on the foundation lessons and I'm well aware of what she needs to do to move to the group class. Foundation lessons are only 30 minutes and I believe that for beginners it is important to learn tacking and brushing (all aspects of riding a horse). My 5 year old does great at these lessons. More...

PRETTY GOOD BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE COULD BE BETTER! Place is clean for a equestrian center. Trainers are knowledgeable. Mature trainers are particularly good in both knowledge and customer service. Unfortunately they have some young trainers in their early twenties, who engage in chatting with volunteers/staff throughout the lesson (not just for a few minutes) and there are times when I have heard them talk rudely about other customers out loud - makes you wonder what they say about you behind your back. Parents trust young riders to these trainers. And horseriding is a expensive and potentially dangerous hobby, so it would be nice to have consistently good customer service that is courteous, attentive and respectful. The owners seem to take a lot of pride in their business, so I hope they will address their trainers to provide consistently good customer service. In the meantime, your best bet is to stick with the older trainers (those in their 30s and upwards) More...
