What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The critical point is that it’s not the technical skills that make good photography/videography. They’re vital ingredients but it’s how they’re put together with your subject to create an end result that is most important.
Shoot the moment, not the subject. Some folks spend too much time composing and arranging shots, not enough feeling what’s going on and flowing along with it. Life is a series of moments, not images.
And perhaps more importantly, one must be aware of the light falling on their subjects and how that light reveals a certain truth about whatever it is that's the topic of the shot!
What do you love most about your job?
No. 1 is that the job at times can be incredibly creative especially when telling stories.
No. 2 No two days are exactly alike! Many people go to a job such as in an industrial space or factory and do the same things over and over. With the visual arts, everyday is not the same and because of that, every day brings its own challenges but in overcoming them, you create new paths of learning consistently and opening up doors that lead down the rabbit hole to exciting new adventures.
