About

Attitude Skating is about developing confidence and projecting strength through athletic grace and consistent work ethic. For over 30 years, I have been training everyone from pre-school beginners to retirees to learn to skate, win medals in local and national competitions, and perform brilliantly in ice skating exhibitions and ice shows.

Q&As

I love watching my skaters gain confidence as they learn new skills! The thrill we both have when they finally land that jump or perform a new spin after months of hard work is indescribable.

I have skated all my life - over 40 years - and as soon as I finished with my own competitive skating career, I immediately began coaching professionally. It's what I have spent my entire professional life doing, and I'll do it until I retire. It's truly my passion!

There are many wonderful coaches to choose from, for a variety of reasons. My students (and often their parents) like that I am extremely patient and always positive with them. I don't subscribe to the "tough coach" mentality, but I will learn about my students and try to challenge them to achieve their own goals. Not all students want to compete in competitions, and not all students like to perform for crowds. But I will always push them to get a little better each lesson, and give them honest feedback about what I'm seeing. I prefer to celebrate successes with my students, rather than punish their mistakes.

I'm vaccinated and boosted, and I follow all state and local health department recommendations and statutes.

Services

Learn how to ice skate in a safe, fun, and challenging way. My program for beginners teaches skaters of all ages how to master the basics of ice skating while providing a strong foundation for figure skating, hockey, and speed skating.

I train preschoolers, kids, teens, adults, and skaters with disabilities.

Attitude Skating's figure skating programs offer skaters the opportunity to explore various disciplines of figure skating. Skaters in these levels will learn jumps, spins, choreography and more, so it is essential that skaters master their basic skills curriculum before entering these more specialized classes.

Some of the disciplines I teach:

Freestyle Skate

Artistry in Motion

Synchronized Skating

Axel Club

I can coach determined skaters to earn several ISI and USFSA accredited certificates as well as coach them to success in figure skating competitions.

There's no age limit with ice skating! I have several students over 50 years old who love to come to the rink on a regular basis to keep work on their balance, flexibility, strength, and endurance. Several of them perform in exhibitions and competitions to the delight of crowds every time!
