Marcus is a very talented, professional and passionate photographer, artist and visionary. I came to him because I needed headshots for my profile as a fledgling actor. I did not realize he has so many years of industry experience as a model and actor. Our session turned into an entertainment and fashion industry consultation, which was incredibly valuable. He provided so much advice and guidance. I learned so much. He did not just start snapping pictures. He took time to get to know me and to understand the vision I had for my headshots, and he advised me on the best approach. I really liked the dedicated creative studio space and the layouts. I especially like the big roll-up door that allows plenty of indirect ambient light into the studio during the photo sessions. The make-up artist he recommended for me, Gabriela Zambrano, was phenomenal. She also has experience in the fashion and entertainment industries, and it showed in the results. I was blown away by the headshots; they far exceeded my expectations. Marcus does his work with the utmost excellence. He stays current with the ever-changing entertainment and fashion industry trends to ensure headshots meet the most current requirements. He delivered my headshots within a couple of working days, which is amazing. The cost, quality and delivery were absolutely excellent. You will not be disappointed. I have been seeking a photographer/studio that I feel comfortable with for the past couple of years. After doing lots of research I found Atlas Studio Bay Area and I had no doubt that I wanted to do my photos with them. Marcus was very proficient at communicating with me. I appreciated the time he took to learn about me and understand my vision. In the photo session, he not only focused on the quality of the photographs but also provided guidance and patience throughout the whole session. I cannot express how amazing it has been working with Atlas Studios! Marcus was extremely professional, as well as very personable and made me feel very comfortable! He is incredibly talented doing the pictures he takes, helping arrange and pick out entire outfits and multiple different looks, and so much more! He is extremely generous and I always feel like he is never rushing me and he cares about getting the best outcome possible for the project! I chose to have the portfolio with 4 different looks and the videographer which I will use for modeling and acting opportunities and jobs. His entire team from assistants, to the videographer, to makeup and hair artists were all outstanding! Honestly, it was such a fun and comfortable day while also being very productive! Marcus does not just do the bare minimum and rushes through as it’s just his job, rather we spoke and communicated multiple times before we spent an entire eight hour day doing the photo shoot and he gets things done in such a timely matter and he is incredibly patient as well, and he just really has created a great and enjoyable environment, including a lunch break with delicious pizza and sodas for the whole group to rest, and chat, and eat! Marcus and Atlas Studios goes WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND what’s needed and I’m forever grateful for everything they’ve done for me and I would love to give him 10 stars but there’s only 5 so I had to settle for 5/5 stars but really it was more like 10 stars out of 5 stars, haha! I would absolutely recommend anyone from a stranger to an acquaintance to a friend or family member to choose Atlas Studios with Marcus to form a professional portfolio! Whether you have never done anything like this before and are a complete beginner or if you’ve done it dozens of times, you cannot get anyone better than MARCUS! He was very helpful with explaining different poses or facial expressions and even used unconventional methods like “give me the reaction you’d have if you ran into your friend from childhood” and somehow it all worked, every time! I had about 175 images that MARCUS took, and they are all so great that narrowing down to 20 was so difficult that I enlisted the help of about 10 friends and family to star their favorites, because there were just so many amazing pictures, and this is before he even did his final editing… And it’s also a huge benefit that he’s worked within this industry for decades now and depending on the situation, once the video and portfolio are finished and ready, he can sometimes help point you in the right direction for the next step! For me, almost immediately there was an option for a possible modeling opportunity even before the final product was done! That just shows how talented and connected he is!
