Every one has heard the phrase, a picture is worth a thousand words. Michael just completed a mural here at the Edgewood Inn, in Woodland Park. He wrote a Novel. His mural is amazing. He took my idea and vision and put it all together. I took a picture of an overcast sky west of Sioux Falls SD. The sun was just coming out of the blue gray clouds. The rays of light where breaking through the clouds. He captured the exact picture I took and painted the mural to that picture. His ability to show depth in a picture is what he does best. Everything that Michael Beenenga brings his artistic talents to turns out to be jaw-dropping amazing. From murals to graphic design projects to fine-art creations, he has such wonderful style. I'm now the proud owner of an original Michael Beenenga drawing of my sweet dog, Chillie, which fooled my mom into thinking it was a photograph (yes, he's THAT good). What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job are the possibilities! What I do is very relationship driven. Clients tell me their vision for a project or are open to hearing a vision from me and together we co-create a work of art for their home or business that previously did not exist.
What inspired you to start your own business?
In 2009 I started Artistic Gold Creative Concepts to provide a service for customers who have a vision for a project but do not have the ability to produce it. I am grateful for the ability to hear someone's vision and then sketch for them that concept so that we can create a unique work of art together.
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe customers will find that doing business with us is exciting. Creating is an exciting process and we work together with the client as much or as little as they like. After communicating on the project at hand, I hear the feedback from the rough sketches, and work toward crystalizing the vision. Once we agree on the vision, then we move in the direction of finalizing the project-whether it be a mural, decorative element, illustrative piece or fine art.
In a nutshell:
Every work of art is a "unique thumbprint" that is a result of a creative collaboration between the customer and us!

It depends on what the service is. Murals, custom painting and decorative/faux finish painting requires me to be on-site working on the wall or substrate in a home or business. When travel is required for a project, we find the most cost effective way to travel and include this price in the bid.
Portraits/Fine Art and Illustrations allow me to work remotely and mail or email (if digital) the final piece to the recipient.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
When I work on-site I wear a mask and if the client wants to have further precautions then I apply what they require also.
Custom Murals
What I offer is a brainstorming block first to sketch out your vision-so we can both see your concept.
Sometimes people will give me reference photos or explain to me what they would like to see and we refine the sketch to a clarified image of the final.
Some people like to see the sketch very rough and we go from there, some people like to see a more polished version like a Photoshop rendering.
Then, once you are happy with the vision, I give an estimate of what it will cost to paint the mural with materials, travel and the days that are required.
The goal is to create a mural that you are in love with when it is finished. Murals are priced by square footage and that square footage is in different tiers according to the amount of detail.

Brainstorming Block Conceptualization
This service clarifies your vision in the form of rough sketches and in some cases more refined sketches. The purpose of the Brainstorming Block is for you and I to be on the same page visually in regards to your project. Not all projects require a Brainstorming Block, however if it is crucial to have your ideas heard and seen for the final piece then I suggest we do this service and we can then co-create together. The block is sold in 4 hour increments. The block can be broken up, we can communicate in person, via FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, email, phone or text. Whatever communication works best for you then that is what we use. Contact me for the current rate of this service.
Illustration
Illustrations also typically start with a Brainstorming Block. Once the overall vision is established then I give a true estimate of what it will take to complete your project. What is the format you need your final in? Will the final be hand painted and then digitized for print? Will the final be digital for an online publication? These are just some of the questions that we may go over to ensure that you get the best possible final product.
Custom Portraits/Fine Art
I offer custom portraits in a few different mediums: graphite pencil in 8x10, 11x14, 11x17 and 13x19. I also offer painted portraits in oil and in acrylic in a variety of sizes. Graphite pencil portraits are the most reasonably priced, then acrylic then oil. I ask for a reference photo to go by to create the truest representation of the portrait subject.
I also offer fine art painting and drawing of any other subject in addition to portraits.

Decorative/Faux Finish Painting
Decorative/Faux Finish painting is a service that we offer for homes and businesses. The purpose of this service is to create an environment that is inviting and warm for a home owner or a business' staff or clients using their facility. Contact me for the most current styles and rates.
Logo Creation
We offer brainstorming to create your logo. Once you are happy with concept of your logo, we then begin refining and completing your logo digitally. We then send you your logo in whatever format you need for your marketing. (JPEG, AI, PSD, ect. )
