I am a photographer who started in real estate photography to support our own real estate investments. We now provide head shots and portraits which began at the requests of our clients.
Arch City Photos was born out of need to support my own requirements for professional photography. You learn a lot about quality when you start as your own client.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Practice, practice, practice.
In addition to the technical skills, it is very important to know the subject and what is the intention of the photograph. Is this to sell a property? Is it to capture a moment in life like a senior portrait or a family gathering? Asking questions prior to the photo shoot helps direct me as a photographer to the right composition and look.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is the intended use of the pictures?
What tone or feel are you looking for? Serious? Light and fun?
Who will be in the pictures?
What type of location or locations do you have in mind?
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting great people and getting to work with them to create a lasting image.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a real estate investor I needed professional pictures to properties for listing. That started Arch City Photos for real estate photography for my own properties and other investors who asked about my services. Further requests brought us into head shots as well as portraits.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are local to St. Charles count. We are a small photography business that is the perfect example of one on one service. And we started the business as our own client, so high expectations were the norm.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Photography is one of the more simple business to take advantage of social distancing with little to no need for personal contact.
