We have a 8 mo male shepherd and a 7 mo shepherd mix. The younger one is a wild child and I was extremely nervous about taking her to training. It was a rough first 2 days of getting bit and over an hr of trying to get her out of the car. Jared, Trish and Lori were great and very patient with us. After 2.5 weeks shes now very excited to go to school and can be in a room with several dogs without outbursts. We have been to several other obedience classes in town over the last 22 years and this is by far the most effective training weve been to. The staff is extremely laid back and friendly, feels like we've been there for years. In fact, its crazy that all of us in the obedience 1 class have gotten very comfortable with each other in such a short amount of time. They have been very consistent with making sure we understand the "rules/bylaws/order" of training and why its important to follow them (also quick to correct us if we forget/stray haha).They are doing a great job of training me to teach my wild child dog!! I honestly cant believe how quickly their training methods work and we LOVE how much faith and support they have for our pups! Highly recommend them. More...

First I would like to say not only is this place professional, but the compassion the staff has is amazing. I am the proud owner of 2 yes I said 2 Pitt bull mix dogs. They have shown me so much in this class. My dogs are 35 and 92 lbs. Jared, Laura, and Trish have shown me how to handle them slit better and that They can be better. I am so thankful for finding this company and look forward to well trained dogs bc I know with this staff mine will get there. Jared and Trish are extremely knowledgeable about dogs and have excellent techniques to help you become a better pet owner/trainers. At first I was not sure if they could help me but they did and proved that my companion(my dog) and I have and unbreakable bond and made our relationship stronger. We now work great as a team. Thanks to American Service Dog I have another companion(dog) and both of them work great as a team. They are excellent trainers and very knowledgeable about the laws and I am very great full for them and everything they have done my my dogs and I. They are very professional about their work and tell you the truth up front and will tell you what you have to do in order for you and your dog to succeed. Yes, there were some issues with some of the employees, but now it’s all under new management and they are ensuring that everything is done properly and professionally. I enjoy being around the American Service Dog family and am entirely grateful for their time and dedication.Lori was my one on one trainer at American Service Dog and she was very knowledgeable about training. If there was something that she didn’t know that minute she would get back to me that night with an answer. She’s fun to be around and serious when she needs to be. American Service Dogs is a great place to be at with your animals and to be around other dogs owners. Definitely the place to go to learn more than just being a dog owner but a great place to be part of a family and building your relationship with you four legged friend(s). I have a rescue 11month old shepherd that is being trained to be a brace and balance and retrieval dog. Folks can do as little as basic class of basic commands all the way to specific trained service dogs. The owner Jarod and his wife are WONDERFUL to work with. They also have a trainer named Lori that is also filled with info, knowledge and patience. All of them are a joy to work with. Very patient, very helpful, EXTREMLY knowledgeable. Without a doubt they always go above and beyond to help. Love the family atmosphere. All the people I meet there are dedicated to positive reinforcement training for the owners and the dogs. Although I had an unpleasant experience when attempting to obtain a Service Dog for the first time at this facility, American Service Dogs and its employee's are not at fault, I was going through quite a lot at the time. I would genuinely and sincerely like to apologize to American Service Dogs and their staff for all that happened. American Service Dogs & its employee's are the most genuinely kind- hearted dedicated individuals that I have ever met. I saw the facility and staff like my "home away from home" and second family! Due to the fact that I have recently been officially re-diagnosed, it has been recommended by my counselor that I obtain another Service Dog as soon as possible. My experience with American Service Dogs has been phenomenal! I am almost 52 yrs old, and I've had dogs since I was 7. I've run the gammut of trainers and training facilities, and ASD is by far the best!
Their training theory and methods get results! I know this for a fact as I've used their methods to train my 3 labradors aged 11 yrs, 2 yrs and 6 months: The 11 yr old did so well that she became my service dog within a few months! The 2 yr old is a hunting dog that couldn't sit still and couldn't heel to save his life! He now does a long-distance sit-stay for several minutes and heels perfectly; he also knows all the basic commands. The youngest is now 8 months old; she knows all the commands and is almost finished with Intermediate training -- she will begin her service dog training soon and is expected to pass with flying colors!
American Service Dogs has top-notch trainers that will not only teach you how to train your dog but can help you with behavioral issues as well. You will not find a better training facility! The average price around the country for a service dog is about $20,000-$30,000; ASD charges a fraction of that! Make your appointment and talk to them -- they will build you a quote that's specific to your needs; you won't pay for something you don't want.
I would like to address the two negative reviews recently left. I was at the facility when these two people arrived. The rep was expecting them. When they walked in, the rep looked up, said "Hello. Follow Me." Though I was not present during their evaluation, I have sat through an evaluation with this particular rep in the past. He was professional, courteous and took the time to discuss issues that weren't even part of the evaluation (like the best dog foods, beds, etc). The woman mentioned that her quote was for services they didn't even want -- that's impossible! They must have mentioned they wanted a service dog when they called, or they would not have been scheduled for a service dog evaluation. Whenever someone calls for just obedience training, they are told to just come to their first class a bit early in order to make a payment and sign an obedience training contract. If they changed their mind, then they should have clearly explained to the rep that only wanted obedience training, and the rep would have given them the quote for $150 unlimited classes for one month. It is evident that they did not do this. These people truly missed out on the best dog training experience they will EVER receive!
I've been through 40 yrs of dogs and training, so I know what I'm talking about. American Service Dogs is the best around.
