I happened upon Heather's booth - Ambience Photography - at the 2019 Bridal Fair and it was literally "love at first sight". Not only was her display spot on, showing all she had to offer through every season and situation, but her warm and welcoming personality also gave me an instant feeling of trust - and that's what I was looking for in a wedding photographer.After mulling over the myriad flyers I picked up at the fair, I contacted Heather and fortunately, she was available for my May wedding date. My fiance and I met with her at her gorgeous studio, went over the details, and signed a contract. From that moment on, Heather was always available to answer questions, provide tips, and just give a sense of calm that is needed when planning the many details of a wedding. As any bride knows, this can be a stressful process.Heather doesn't just take pictures. She provides that "extra" through helping develop your photography schedule, providing schedule cards to keep everyone on track, beautiful "photo-access" cards for the guests, to making you feel like part of her family. On the big day Heather showed up at the designated location with an assistant and it was game on! She did not miss a thing. Respectful, courteous, professional, and fun all in one package! If you didn't feel like a million bucks already on the day of your wedding, Heather brought you to the next level. The finished product has been amazing and the blog post she builds online and provides is extraordinarily thought out, clever, and classy. Heather and the team at Ambience are professionals in every sense of the words. I had to plan my wedding from across the country, and everything about the photography was absolutely perfect. One of the major reasons I chose her was her ability to shoot beautiful photos in low light; my wedding was in the winter and I knew it would be dark outside and indoors. We were visiting Wasilla for just a few days when (for business reasons) we unexpectedly and urgently needed a professional portrait. On very short notice Heather setup a photoshoot for us exactly to our specifications and after a quick session we left with the precisely perfect shot we needed, complete with a light touch of Photoshopping (to smooth out skin-tone, and a stray hair or two) and she provided the image in the formats we needed.It was generous of her to accommodate our last minute request and thanks to the music and lighting and feeling in her studio, not to mention her warmth and absolute competence we had a great experience. We are not from Alaska and won't be staying long so it's unlikely we'll return, but if we ever have a chance to recommend a photographer for any important events or portraits to anyone in or near Wasilla we would recommend Ambience without hesitation. Heather is one of the top wedding photographers in Alaska. Her photos are stunning. Just like any photographer she is expensive, but well worth the money. She did my engagement, boudoir, and, wedding photos. We have some amazing memories for many years. She's easy to work with, and she knows what's going to make a good shot. I have learned to just listen to her haha. She is very very busy in the summer so it's harder to contact her then, do most of your planning in the winter.
