Q&As

The change. Witnessing clients learn about their lives in a new way and making the adjustments they want to become the person they desire. Witnessing that and knowing that change will not only change my client's life for the better, but also change the life for those in my client's life for the better as well. That brings me great joy.

With the pandemic bringing new attention to the world, I think people began to self reflect and the need for counseling services became so clear. With so many people in need, I believe it was my call to action. Combined with the increase telehealth use, I realized that I no longer had to be confined to my immediate geographic region and instead could help people throughout the entire state of California who may be in need.

Because I am compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental in my care. I am well versed and highly skilled in my craft and that is something that takes steady diligence, which I use to stay up to date on best practices so that I assure my clients are getting the best care.

Yes, all my services are online via telehealth. Clients receive a HIPAA compliant link from me in the matter they choose, they click it at the time of their appointment, and that's it. Their in and services begin.

Services

The impact of trauma cannot be underestimated. Studies have shown that the survivors of trauma are at elevated risk for a range of mental health conditions.

I utilize the neuroscience of trauma as a guide to provide treatment that focuses on the mind and body to aid in recovery.

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S., affecting 40 million adults in the United States age 18 and older, or 18.1% of the population every year.

I utilize various mindfulness and acceptance strategies among others to assist clients in overcoming the disruptions caused by their anxiety.

Despite postpartum depression often being the term used, the perinatal distress includes various mood conditions such as depression, bipolar, psychosis along with anxiety conditions such as generalized anxiety, panic, OCD, and PTSD.

I have undertaken additional specialized trainings to best treat these conditions.

Grief and loss are not just related to death. They also may be a response to loss of a job, relationship, home, graduation, etc. Any of these changes represent a loss and given the unique qualities of individuals experiencing change, no loss can be minimized in the face of others.

This is the framework from which I work when providing care to my clients.

Similar to anxiety, depression is very common in our lives. I utilize a range of evidence based skills to assist clients in overcoming depression.

Insomnia is a sleep disorder experienced by millions of people worldwide.

I look to aid people with these symptoms through evidenced-based measures such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia.

The aim of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia - CBT-I is to improve behaviors and sleep habits by firstly identifying, and then changing the thought patterns and behaviors that affect a person’s ability to sleep or to sleep well.

Feel free to contact me for a free initial phone consultation or to ask any questions you may have about the services I offer.

In our initial call together, I ask a few questions about what kind of support you’re looking for and I propose some options for what therapy may look like if we worked together. Pricing also discussed.
