I HIGHLY recommend Heather as a photographer to anyone. She really does know what she is doing and she is really passionate about her work. She keep contact with me trough out the process and recommend places where the pictures would come out the most beautiful. She is easy to contact by text, phone call or email. When i first reached out to her she contacted me back in about 30 minutes or less. I decided to take the pictures on the beach and they came out as beautiful as they can be. My husband is camera shy and he even loved taking the pictures with Heather. She will make you feel confortable through out the whole process. We even got a sneak peek of our pictures the same day! I took my maternity photos with Heather and am extremely happy I chose her to be my photographer! The final images turned out beautiful and will be wonderful memories for years to come. She turned the images around within 1 week of shooting. Heather has great energy and will guide you through poses. The shoot was really natural and I felt very comfortable. Stop your search for a photographer and hire Heather now! She is absolutely amazing. We hired Heather for our newborn photoshoot and will be using her throughout our sons first year (and every other major event! !) The photoshoot was magical, she was so great with our son and even got our dog in some shots :) She listened to everything we needed and worked tirelessly to make everything perfect for us. it has been four years since I originally wrote this review. This year we celebrated several milestones in our families lives and we called Heather Hart at A La Mode. It was an easy call as we wanted the most professional, meticulous, detail oritented photographer I could think of. She captures the moments, the smiles, the surrounding in ways that only a artist could do. Once she is done she takes her time to work on the photos and when she is done WOW!!! Don't expect Costco turn around times people, be real - you are asking a talented artist to create something. It is not a click and print operation. Here is my review from 4 years ago - I had to leave it because I wanted people to know how my feelings and appreciation for this talent has not changed over the years. Writing a review for someone like Heather Hart is a difficult task because I don't know enough superlatives to describe her talent. She is a true professional and an incredible talent. She has the ability to calm you when you are in front of the camera. She has been our family photographer for years and has seen our children grow and develop, she has preserved those most sacred moments of our children for us forever. The pictures I am left with show their true spirit - whether it be playful or pensive; she has such incredible talent and an eye for perfection. I chose A La Mode after seeing photos that were featured. What I liked about the photos were how natural the 'poses' were and how artistic the setting and lighting. Heather was extremely professional - on time, delivering sneak peaks at the time they were 'promised,' replying back, delivering the photos, etc. Consummate professional.Heather is also very thoughtful and so easy to work with. Shooting outside rather than indoors could be exhausting. It has to be difficult for her as well, but she maintains a happy and positive demeanor for the benefit of her clients. Doing such when you yourself are tired, is so difficult. And yet, that's top notch customer service for ya.Finally, the product. I was so happy with my first experience that couple years later, I called her again. Let me say, I only have two types of works hanging from my walls: original paintings and then Heather's photo art. I'm mentioning original paintings not to say how rich I am because I'm NOT. I'm saying it to show how selective I am and how over the moon happy I was with the goods she delivered. I am BEYOND lucky to have found Heather! I wanted to get my nephew a special 1st birthday gift, and I thought a photo session for the family would be best to capture this wonderful moment that they are experiencing with him. Not only is Heather affordable, the quality is comparable to those other $$$$ places I found. But Heather gives more than just the product - she gives you herself. She reached out to me and showed such enthusiasm and care during the whole process. She was quick to answer the many questions I had, and very efficient to give me a sample of the gift certificate. And OMG everyone - the gift certificate that she mails to you, is SO BEAUTIFUL and thoughtful. It is that extra step that Heather does for her clients that really makes her special than the others. She designs it and wraps it up in a pretty ribbon!! And the day of the photo shoot was perfect! She captured my sweet nephew's joy and invited myself and our mom along on the shoot! We were so happy afterwards. And she quickly finished the photos for us to view THAT DAY. I have never met someone that is so sweet and that loves her job like Heather does. My sister got me the sweetest most valuable gift for my baby's first birthday : beautiful memories that I can look back at and relive how magical this time was. My sister got me a beautiful gift certificate (the gift certificate itself was gorgeous! I am saving it in my memory book) for a portrait session with Heather.  Heather picked a beautiful location in malibu for us to do our shoot . I love how organized and detail orientated she was in giving us specifics instructions to get there and what to do right when we got there. The pictures were gorgeous and the joy I saw in my baby's eyes was EVERYTHING ( when he saw the ocean, boats, airplanes, and touching sand). Heather captured it on camera and she delivered the pictures QUICKLY that following week. We were astonished and know that she was working her butt off to edit the photos and get them to us at lightning speed . She is very clear in her communication and that is helpful when you need a nudge in creating a vision and executing. I knew I wanted something timeless and with nature but wasn't sure what and she suggested some great ideas and we made it happen!Also, ask  her about her jewelry line, we chose  a beautiful necklace for my mom for mother's day and it is lovely. The necklace is a modern locket that has the pictures in a waterproof casing so my mom can keep these memories close to her heart ( and change out the pictures if she feel like it).   She is a master at capturing these sweet moments. I had an excellent experience with Heather at A La Mode Photo. I am 100% convinced she is the guru of maternity photography! Her style is untouchable, she is highly talented with a unique style and eye for this art. I discovered Heather by doing an Internet search, and while searching I stumbled upon many other "maternity photographers." Yet, none of the other on-line portfolios were comparable to what I saw when I viewed Heathers on-line portfolio. Heather has a way of capturing the true spirit of pregnancy. I love how many of her photos are taken by the water, I feel like this acts as a metaphor for the baby growing within a belly, surrounded by amniotic fluid. By taking pregnancy photos on the beach it provides an artistic connection to the power of the pregnant woman.... which truly is "goddess like." And Heather will capture the goddess within you! Personally, I am a very "camera shy" personality, but was pleasantly surprised by the experience and how comfortable Heather made me and my family feel. It was fun! The photo shoot with Heather, of my family and I, felt like a celebration of my baby! What a wonderful way to honor the pregnant journey. In addition to being impressed with the actual photo shoot, I was also very impressed with the results! We absolutely LOVED our session with Heather!!! We flew in from Nebraska, and Heather helped with so many details!! She went above and beyond! From bringing wardrobe and props to easy directions for parking. She was so patient!! I am very pregnant and unforcomfortable in my body, yet she made me feel beautiful! Heather of A La Mode Photo is the BEST! Everyone says it and it is is actually true! I am thrilled with our pictures and keep referring her to all of my friends and family! The minute I saw her portfolio I fell in love with her gorgeous beach pictures. She is so easy to talk with (yes, she answers her phone directly, no middle man), and from our first conversation, I knew that she was the one to document our family's history. We have had several family photo shoots since our first maternity photo shoot and all of them have been incredible. We have even branched out to some other great locations that she has recommended around Los Angeles. Heather is amazing with babies and children and helped pose us perfectly for every shoot. She's amazing! We had our photoshoot at Point Dume in Malibu and it was so beautiful. The photos were better than anything I could have imagined! !! My boyfriend and I had never taken professional photos and we both enjoyed it so much. You can tell she has been doing this for a long time. She is very professional, extremely prepared, and excited to make you look good. Heather is very welcoming and has a wonderful spirit which makes her super easy to talk to. Any concerns you have will be addressed. She brought all the outfit changes which took a lot of stress off of me. I'm excited to have her shoot our little girl when she arrives!! My husband, fur baby (aka our cocker spaniel) and I had the pleasure of shooting with Heather yesterday. She has this amazing gift for making you look and feel beautiful and completely taken care of which was much appreciated (especially at 9 months pregnant). She makes the process fun, comfortable, and super easy. She even brings everything so you don't have to worry. Heather is someone who naturally connects with people, builds trust and friendship.
