Wow. By far the best vet I have ever been too. They are kind and really care about your animal. My cat is not friendly to others, especially when I take her to the vet, but she was sooo good there! My cat felt most comfortable sitting in the sink, so that’s where they let her sit. They are cat-friendly certified, which means they do everything they can to ensure your cat is comfortable. They make recommendations for your sick pet and explain why they are recommending it and then will follow up with you on your animal’s progress. For two years, Dr. Ina Obernesser was the primary vet for my pup and I could not be happier with the attentive care and love that she showered on him. We have since moved away, but I still very clearly recall the kindness that Dr. Obernesser showed towards my every concern. The front desk can be a little disorganized at times, but they have always made sure to send the right documents in a relatively timely manner and check up on my pup post-appointments. I called Uptown Vet when I found a stray cat outside my apartment that needed immediate medical attention. Uptown Vet was my vet but my cat had passed away about a year ago. I always remembered them as being very helpful and accommodating. They said I could bring him in and they would waive any fees. They have had the cat about a week now and he is in great shape. They have taken the best care of him and I have no idea what would've happened to him had they not swooped in at the last minute. They have agreed to keep him until he has a permanent home. Dr. Ina Obernesser and staff have serviced my dogs for almost an entire decade.I am confident in their service. I have gone to other vets when out of area and have not received the quality of service offered at Uptown Vets. When I put my dog down they were thorough, compassionate and understanding through the entire process! Giving me time alone with my beloved dog and allow me to grieve undisturbed.Chloe likes them and is never traumatized after being treated. We had an extremely positive experience! After a failed attempt at another vet, we tried Dr. Ina Ibernesser. After several months of serious illness, we truly believed our 14 year old cat "Charlie" was done. She suggested a new diet, and a medication for his stomach (prescription and over the counter) and literally, he was back to his old self within a couple of days. Makes me sad we stuck with the old vets suggestions so long. This was almost a year ago and he has been fantastic ever since. The whole staff was professional with several calls after our visit to check to be sure all was going well. Warning - She did suggest a test that would have cost more money OR she offered to "treat the symptoms" and see if that worked. I said no to the test and asked her to just treat the symptoms. There was no pressure at all from her to do the tests after we declined. Confused by some of the negative reviews. We have owned many pets over the years and have experienced several different vets both in the city and in other states. This was one of the best experiences we have ever had. I've always found Dr. Obernesser and the staff to be friendly, punctual, thorough, and genuinely invested in the health of my pets. I've been with Dr. Obernesser for just over ten years, and she has gone out of her way for my pets so many times - from visiting my cat when he was in the hospital recovering from surgery to calling me personally to check up on an ailing cat or to give her condolences when they've passed. After trying out other vets in brick and mortar spaces, I didn’t see the care and compassion that I needed or felt that my dogs deserved so I found a home visiting vet that came to our apartment for appointments. As you can imagine, a concierge vet has limited services when it comes to surgeries and specific procedures.... My teeny tiny senior chihuahua needed a pretty immediate surgery, so I had no choice but to try a brick&mortar vet that offered these services. We were so nervous. We thought of Uptown Vets immediately as we’d heard great things about them from neighborhood pet owners. We’d been told numerous times by our past brick&mortar vets that our little guy wasn’t well enough to handle the anesthesia (hence the extended wait in removing his old man teeth) but now it was necessary. He was infected and abcessed. The vets and team here knew immediately what to do and they got it right. Our little senior guy is a new man. I recommend them highly. I really appreciated the picture text and update as soon as he came out of sedation, it was so appreciated and helpful in calming my nerves. I am a founder of a rescue.  We take dogs off the Euthanasia List from the NYACC.  We found Dr. Ina by divine intervention.  We have now developed such a good relationship with her that we bring all our rescue animals to her.  She accomdates us at short notice even at NO NOTICE.  Her compassion is limitless.  Her followup is impecable.  She truely cares.  Dr. James is on top of things and her staff is extremely compassionate.  We'd be lost without her.  The dogs that are slated for euthanisa have a friend and a safe haven for her while they are waiting for transport.   I love that she is very conservative and doesn't believe in doing so many test at first.  It saves on costs and not as taxing on the animals.  We cannot thank her enough for everything! My Max cat was not feeling well in the Spring and I brought him here to see Dr. Ina. She ran blood tests which showed high levels of white blood counts and knew he needed a consul with a Specialist. I booked an appt with a well known Specialist that visits her office the following week and they did an ultrasound and X-rays. They then prescribed specific meds (antibiotics) and then one daily med for the rest of Max's life. I am happy to report that Max is doing well. Even though this Vet comes across a bit "short tempered" (she is human), I think that she is smart and knows whats she's doing as there are many Vets out there that do not. More...
