What do you love most about your job?
Each event hold a special experience, we strive to provide quality and intentional artistry that leaves an impression and experience. We love to see people coming together to laugh and engage in what we have to offer, bringing a memorable impression for not only your guests, but our artists as well.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Stella started face painting while working at a haunted attraction in 1997. Stella loved to work on costumes, scene sets and most of all- the makeup. She had a passion for making each scene a success from the actors skills to the image details, continuously enchanted by the various outlets where her art and vision could come to life. In the other area of Stellas passion lied working with disadvantaged communities and there started her journey in the nonprofit world, working with individuals struggling with homelessness and mental health. Throughout the years Stella dreamed of becoming a makeup artist and in 2010 she had an opportunity to provide face painting at an event that her agency was hosting, a community fundraiser. She was on the committee as a staff person and thought “I am sure I could paint a butterfly”. Once the brush was in hand, she knew she found her passion once again and that brush has yet to sit still very long. So in 2011 after requests for business cards and availability for private events, the movement to becoming a professional artist began. It was with the encouragement of former school mentor that Stella created a website and ordered business cards. Stella has continuously carried a passion for elevating people and building intentional communities so it is to no surprise that the delivery of smiles and artistry was a forever home.
Starburst Arts began after years of artistry success from owner and lead face painter, Stella Carlson. As her customer base and team grew, so did our collective vision. We recognized and valued the strong arts community in MN and want to collaborate to make all of our communities shine, even brighter. Starburst Arts is a full scale children's entertainment company; collaborating with over 20 artists throughout the Twin Cities who are acclaimed for their talents and passion with children and art. Although we specialize in working with children, we provide entertainment for all ages!
