We had a large group and staff was very accommodating since we called and made a reservation.  The food was delicious and there were plenty of menu options for the vegetarian and the picky eater in our group.  There's even a menu option to substitute pasta for spinach.  The restaurant is small, so the acoustics can get loud when the place is packed and especially if you have big mouths in your group!!! Mari's Cucina is one of the best places to go for great food, warm, nostalgic atmosphere (even the bathroom is cute)! I have been there for graduation parties and wedding rehearsal dinners in their "party room". They handle all of the events as if they were for their own family. They will even help with decorating if needed. I have also met friends there at the bar after work to socialize and enjoy the fun, welcoming atmosphere! The food is amazing and very authentic Italian. Whether you are in the mood to meet friends for a cocktail or if you want to sit and enjoy an amazing meal, you HAVE to give Mari's Cucina a try! On another note, I have to comment on the negative reviews I've seen. I honestly wondered if they were talking about a different restaurant?! While I can understand a server being new or maybe one having a bad day, you never know what they are dealing with. Why not think of this situation as though it were your child waiting on the table. OMG!!!!! The food here is AMAZING!!! Our family is originally from NY and the only thing we used to eat was Maggianos or Olive Garden. NEVER AGAIN this place is so good we do not want anyone else’s Italian food. This food is like I drove to NY for a weekend and ate. Omg so good so good. My two kids even loved it!!! We came here for a date night and were impressed. The free bread they give at the start is excellent- we even refilled a few times. I found it to be tastier than the garlic rolls you get at many Italian places. It comes with some type of garlic butter.For an app we ordered the goat cheese dip. The actual mixture of goat cheese and spicy arribbiata sauce was very good, but the extra crispy grilled pita they serve with it didn't go well. It was almost burnt. I'd recommend the free bread to dip in there.Entrees were both great- the popular rigatoni a la vodka was very flavorful and comes with tasty Brooklyn sausage. The baked ziti with crispy eggplant was flavorful and a large portion. The tiramisu was a solid offering, and the wine list had some good choices. In terms of ambiance, I thought it was too bright in there for a typical upscale Italian spot. If they could dim the lights, I think it would kick up the ambiance factor. But that's probably because they also cater to kids (they have a kids' menu), so they keep it bright. It's one of the better Italian spots in the North Fulton area, and we will be back. More...

We found this little gem by accident at 9:30 last night. We walked in to a warm inviting setting where they more than happy to seat us, even after I asked if they were remaining open until 11 and they were going to close earlier due to a slow night, because of the time of year and bad weather. They encouraged us to stay, as well as a customer at the bar telling me it would be worth it. Our waiter was attentive and engaging with recommendations, which we took and were so pleased we did. My husband and I enjoyed a glass of wine as well as 4 small plates that were out of this world bursting with flavor and freshness. We sampled the small antipasto board, grilled artichokes, mussels, and baked goat cheese arrabiata. After that we didn't want to keep them any longer but they offered the dessert menu and continued to make us feel welcome to stay and enjoy.  We decided to end our meal with a slice of limoncello cake. Excellent food and very friendly staff. The chicken sorrentina was perfectly cooked and delicious. Kids got the spaghetti and meatball and mac n cheese, it all tasted very fresh. My husband ate the kids leftovers later and thought theirs was really good too. The staff was really good with the kids and gave them several coloring book pages to keep them happy. Absolutely great service and great food. They are so friendly and nice and really care about the experience. My first trip but I plan to come back often.
