Chef Mitch is easy to work with. Takes time to develop custom menu for my special needs. He makes wonderful low sodium healthy dinners to my door. I am happy he uses local ingredients whenever possible. I have hired him for cooking lessons as well. He is fun and informative. He will always share a back story or two about how a dish originates. I had a wonderful experience with chef Mitchell Goran, he is the most knowledgeable chef there is from anything basic to advanced. We had a dinner party and all of the food was delicious! He is smart. Funny and added some nice extra touches! I also purchased some home cooking lessons which was amazing!! I learned more about preparing certain food, different knives, and spices I didnt know about!! He gave me some baking tips too!! Do yourself a favor, and hire him for cooking lessons, training or a dinner party, you will want more, trust me, thanks chef Goran!! More...

Chef Mitch catered my birthday dinner last year and did a phenomenal job! He worked together with my boyfriend to create surprise dinner for which he cooked a delicious 5-course meal of all of my favorite German dishes. The star of the night was his apple cake, that I have ordered since for other occasions. Chef Mitch was hired again for my birthday this year and outdid himself with an incredible five-layer chocolate cake! I would highly recommend hiring Mitch for any event, small or large! More...

I have hired Chef Mitch in several capacities over the years, and he has never once disappointed. He has catered 2 events for me: a private dinner, which was stunning, and a buffet luncheon for 20 people, which received numerous raves from the attendees. I also received his weekly meal deliveries for years. I particularly enjoyed his Latin, Asian, and Italian dishes, but we never found a cuisine he couldn’t handle. And if you ever need suggestions for a wine or food pairing, he can provide it. He’s also a great personality. I will absolutely continue to do business with Chef Mitch moving forward. More...

Mitch is an incredible chef who is attentive to detail and thoughtful about his food. We have had his catering at approximately 12 events over the last three years (about once per season), and we’ve also used his meal delivery service consistently throughout that time as well. Mitch is creative and communicative, and he will make you laugh. He’s one of the best finds in Connecticut for sure!! More...

Q&As

Crispy Chicken Breast filled with Spinach, Feta and Caramelized Shallots.
Garnished with Farro Pilaf, Roasted Broccoli and Herbed Tomato Coulis

I start with an initial planning meeting where I get to know my customer and their vision for the event. My role in this meeting is to provide culinary guidance and support, and to help create a plan of action with clear expectations (especially for guests with dietary restrictions). With proper notice, I am also able to provide a tasting menu before the event to ensure that my client is able to adjust any portion of the menu.

The aesthetics. Preparing food opens doors to experiencing texture, color, variety, and creativity. There is also that great feeling of satisfaction that can be shared with my clients when a project is complete. Approaching the work in a skillful and professional manner, with the right tools, is what energizes me. It just feels right.

Throughout my career, my catering work was part time; it helped finance my education and supplement my income. After working in restaurants and catering for 25 years, it was time to continue on my own full time. As rewarding and exciting as it can be on a kitchen line, there are also many horrors too. Nearly every episode of Kitchen Nightmares has a situation that I have either witnessed or experienced first hand. Breaking free of all that was the only insurance of working with high standards.

My business is small and personal. All my clients deserve my undivided attention and they get it. I take no short cuts to quality; ever. Maintaining a tightly run well organized culinary operation is my way of guaranteeing a high standard. Nothing leaves my kitchen without my personal approval.
